The first time I saw this movie I saw what I thought was a ghost, except it wasn't in this scene. It was towards the end when it had th baby all alone in the room and the camera slowly pans up to the window. You see a figure of a man in the lower left part of the window. It was FREAKY.

Maybe the gun is also set prop. It could be here for many reasons.

I was actually watching this the other day and my friends and I think that what appears to be the shotgun is the side of the cardboard cutout. I think the reason why you can see what looks like a shotgun and then later you see a person has to do with camera angles. Plus on the VHS copy of the movie you can see better through the curtain. You can also see the cardboard cutout in Ted Dansons room in a different part of the film. If you compare the ghost to the cutout in his room they look similar.

You know, that's not the only scene where the boy appears. Before this scene, when Ted Dansen is talking to his mother on the phone, there's a shot gun under the window then a second later when he walks by again, the boy is under the window. Look it up if you don't believe me!!!
