  • There is no bass in seven nation army, white uses a hollowbody guitar for the intro.

  • nice hair

  • is it just me or are you out of tune?

  • @Guitar4Eva100 its not juust youuuu

  • Jack white ur a legend ! WELL SAID !!

  • what are your guitar and amp settings?

  • love your strat

  • main riff

isnt played on bass, theres no bass player in the band.

  • Best song yah had.

  • pure class!!!!!

  • I am not terribly familiar with the names of the "more complicated chords" and got confused in your lesson for Seven Nation Army. I was wondering if you would consider detailing the video with the shape of the G and F(?) chords you play like 8 counts of, and also the shape of the "Major Power Chord Shape" that you do immediately following?

  • Justin at 1:28 you said the "Band" kicks in? Don't you mean the other Jack White kicks in?

  • Hi nice video Justin. Can you tell me the tab/notes for the barre chords that you play after the g and a powerchords. I can't make it out from the video. Starting from around 2.26 in the vid.

  • @Loganlive09

Sam ash has allot or guitarcenter

I really don't think they mess u guitars but to be safe get a glass one

  • Where can I get a slide and will it mess up my fret board I've got a good guitar so I don't want to mess it up

  • yah?

  • @jjenkins134 thanks for your reply! ok i see, i'm sure the original is open a because white himself tells this in the movie "it might get loud" (deleted scene that u can find on youtube)...but Justin is just a great teacher and all the notes are correct aren't they? :)

  • @jjenkins134 so he actually mistook the tuning?

  • @jjenkins134 is open G same as G tuning? sry i'm just a beginner...anyway i read that open A is the same as G tuning but just 1 step higher...so Justin should be fine or not? ;)

  • If your accent was food I'd eat it.

  • I love your vids man!!!!:D keep making them

  • dude, you helped alot. THANKS, awesome vid btw

  • What's your bridge pickup Justin ?

  • thank you, my freind apreciated.. I just have a probleme wich is in Portugal we use a scale of, DÓ; RÉ; MI, FÁ, SOL; LÁ, SÍ: and it makes my confusion the notes in inglish being gmajor or whatever, does anyone tranlate there for me, please.

  • @TheHelder1976 Is the problem the chords he says, or the tuning of the guitar?

    I speak Portuguese :)

  • @TheIronVoid Também és tuga? a minha confusão é que nós dizemos: dó, ré, mi ...

e eles dizem: Cminor, Amajor, etc, etc, e por ai fora, e isso dame a volta ao miolo.

  • @TheHelder1976 Look up a scale on google. One that shows the chords.

  • @TheIronVoid i bet you cant do better!!

  • @1coombesy What? Better than what?

  • thank you, my freind apreciated..

  • what setting are you using to get this sound?

  • People probably learned it differently, there are many ways you can play the same thing.

  • The main riff is played on guitar... But with an Octaver

  • haha i feel like i'm a james bond movie

  • does anyone know where to find the solo tab in open g with the slide? I can't find it anywhere!

  • Why jump along the neck when you can keep everything within one hand reach? And to everyone who says he's wrong. He's not, he's just in a slightly different key. Not wrong by a lot though. Good work.

  • thanks for the lesson mate sounds just right :)

  • Justin? No solo? C'mon, the solo is the most interesting and ear-grabbing part of the song... how disappointing.

  • thank you, Zou are teacher from god or gods teacher.

  • Thankyou!

  • Thanks Justin - Good stuff!!

  • i play it on the same string but going 7 7 9 7 5 3 2 and i belive it sounds a little better, but that's just my taste

  • @gomilev

    its 7-7-10-7-5-3-2

  • @BurntOut94 i know, but read my comment again, I said that i personally think it sounds a little better :)

  • their is this bit during the riff were he does something different if you listen to it you can here it but i am tring to figure out aaargh

  • @darthesgoobis123 simple, first is just notes, then power chords then it changes into major barre chords.

  • Thank you for all lessons

    Simplistic brilliance

  • this video are excelent

  • I can't believe Justin's doin' a 7 nation army lesson, cool.

  • 4:02 he forgets his accent hehe.

  • can i play the song on non electric guitar..??

  • offcourse

  • nice,but i play it different,stil good 2

  • this is alot easer than i thought it was!

  • Now i cant stop playing it :D

  • bravo!

  • @lonlyranger7 a Mayor is from a Mayor Chord watch on internet about Mayor and Minor than you know the difference

  • wat is a mayor HELP

  • it's a major chord. it's a more upbeat chord

  • wat is an mayor cord explain plz

  • @jjenkins134

    No, it's open G. Ignoring the two E strings the notes are G D G B. In triad form this is G B D or a G major chord. Thus, it's in open G.

  • Great work and lesson dude, but hope you don't mind uploading the song lessons in 720p HD, would help tons.

  • no te entendi nada pero bueno....

quiero aprender a tocar guitarra yaa!!

  • the super duper proper Jack White way! lol!!!

  • @generalhippo c'mon! g power chord...

  • no, it's accurate, but jack white uses an octaver

  • yes its played another way, but does it really matte if it sounds the same, dont think so

  • thanks ur awesome at guitar

  • Fantastic lesson, Justin.

  • cheers ,mate thnx so much mate

  • whats the point in learning this version? it's completely different and not much easier.

  • just learned hot to play that and owe it pretty much to you, so thanks man :D

  • Hi Justin - I've seen many of your videos before - I think you're doing a fantastic job! Keep up the good work - best wishes from Canada!

  • i still didn't get the major chords shape in the chorus justin talks about, can somebody help me?

  • can you write tab here beucase im from different country and i dont understand ! please ?!

  • that is one of the best riffs around.

  • nice luv this song

  • suuuuuuuuuuuuuper i love you

  • show off

  • theres no bass .. its a guitar with a sub-octave effect ...

  • he uses bass when recording

  • Yeh which is the same as a bass dumbass

  • Hey Justin.... what do you mean "bass" at 1:25? its white stripes right? no bass player. Are you refering to the octave pedal thing?.. anyway, enough trainspotting, another highly usefull lesson.... cheers

  • uhm dude jack white can write and play bass parts. he's aloud to.

  • He's stating that you'd usually play that kind of thing on bass, but on this you play it on guitar.

  • nice

  • no bass was used

  • yeah! you rock man! tnks!

  • you're a wizard...really good!!!

  • alooominium lol

  • alright, i tuned down my A to a G. chorus, pre-chorus, and solo sound good with the slide

now what do i do for the verse? i no longer have an A to do the 7-7-10-7-5-3-2 on

or is 9-9-12-9-7-5-4 on the newly tuned G the same thing?

  • Yeah you do the riff but two frets higher than you would normally in A.

  • this was awesome

  • thanks very good!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you so much ill subscribe

  • lol yes there is

  • You can play the whole thing in position 2 in standard tuning. It starts on E(2) on the D string.

  • I love how the peole who say its wrong...dont say why its wrong. It sounds spot on to me, and even if it turned out Jack does it differently it doesn't matter, It still the same song.. : /

    Thanks for the lesson =D

  • @takashi2000 I know right? I guess it makes them feel better about themselves.

  • i found a new way to play the intro without down tuning. just go on the low E and go 10-10-13-8-6-5. it has the same sound i think.

  • Very good lesson."Jedi -Master"

  • es tachu lo pana

  • sick

  • on the acoustic 6th string

    7,7,10,7,5,3,2

  • MALO MALO MALO MALO

    WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG..,

  • cool but it was just a joke lol, wasnt very funny tho.

  • I thought It was funny!

  • i agree

  • yeah!! ^^

  • Thanks for the lesson. Do you think you could do one for dead leaves and the dirty ground? : )

  • lol

  • Lol, your mistake diddnt ruin it though, it was just a cool variaty.

  • You Rock, keep up the good work ... (=

  • hey buddy, thanks for teaching us, thats a simple song to folow, and it sound great, not to clear on the finger places but, i worked it out, thanks a lot

  • power chords not major chords >=O

  • dude...google, learn for yourself, dont depend on just one person to teach you everything

  • this is the first song i got on guitar and i masterd it

  • ur picking only 3 upper strings?

  • umm i think i figured out that upper two... E and A

  • Indeed, The song was originally played on bass...

You can play a "basic" version only on a G string! (no pun intended)

  • It was played on Guitar

  • with a slide

  • jack uses open A tuning on a hollow body guitar.

  • jack uses open a tuning.

  • you are really great! *applaus*

  • what kind of distortion is he using

  • nice. whats funny is my teacher is friends with jack and told me that the song comes from where he got a lot of his clothes when he was little. he thought salvation army was seven nation army. funny huh?

  • Nonetheless, you are probably never gonna hit Jack's very distinctive sound, by using just distortion. Wiki has a bit about how to reach his sound.

  • cool, you're awesome.

  • u can also try to palm mute

if u really want it to sound like the song

    u can use the 6th string[fattest string]

    same frets

    sounds nice

    in my opinion

i say u put alot of treble to sound good

  • Well if you use the manipulation that Jack does (Whammy pedal, an octave, as I remember) then youre gonna sound like the song, playing your A string.

  • playing the E string on the same frets, would make it sound completely wrong as the notes on the E string are different than those of the a string, however it would be more deep.

  • ur retarded.

  • thankss this is really good nd helped me alot!

  • Far the best tutorial on "7 nation army".

And U actually know how to play it...

  • Brilliant, thanks.....more white stripes please!

  • Excellent, many thanks

  • please can you make a vidio when your just telling us the frets cuz i picked up the guitar a fue years ago and im pretty good at it but i dont know the notes and stuff so if you could thanks
