if that's the way we have to look at it, i'd rather there have been no original. re-worked R&B covers are funny at best, but pale in comparison to the original work by the covering artist. the only reason i personally give more credit to the cover is because it has been turned into music (melody + instrument), rather than a mumbled talk over a beat. but like i said, that's just my two cents.
