Some cities in the US tried something similar a few years back by making 'trading cards' with pictures of officers and a short bio on the back.
I think the programs died out due to lack of funding.
Pity though, because I think if more citizens saw their police officers as people instead of just a uniform, it would improve relations and help with community support.
