You can get a good quality guitar for less than a "Gibson" Les Paul. Les Pauls are my favorite, they have their own sound. Just fit my ear & style. Depeneds on the style or sound you want to go for. If your a Hendrix or SRV fan- fender type guitar. Your a Slash- Billy Gibbons guy....Gibson all the way.

There are both ways. Before starting the vocal, it's mainly single notes but sometimes add the 3rd. After starting the song, I play with power chords.
