Interesting fact about the tower - it was never intended to be permanent but it was popular enough for them to keep it. Good thing they did, because it's a beautiful building. I went to the second floor when I was about 8 and it was quite windy then, too. I'd love to go to the top someday.
I'm not sure how true this is but I heard it was only ever supposed to be temporary....so I guess the guy who built it had no idea how famous it would be.
The view from above is gorgeous despite the gloomy weather.

When the tower was first built many people actually complained about it and considered it to be an eyesore.

@silverdoe65 True! There have been a lot of attempts to take it down too; the reason it's still up is because it's such a great radio tower! : )
