A bit high but better than a shoulder shot and it penetrated enough to cut the organs and take him down quickly. Best you hope for. Arrows carry very little kinetic energy and can not disperse it by fragmentation. Unlike hollow point bullets. Arrows do not kill clean ever. Fact. Electric stunning and captive bolt stunning, followed by exsanguination, are FAR more common methods of slaughter than rifle shot. I'm pretty sure that this applies to CA as well. Free bullet slaughter (rifle shot) is banned in the EU and a lot of other places.

It involves running electric current through the brain of the animal for several seconds, inducing surgical anesthesia. The animal is then hung up, and its carotid arteries cut, causing it to bleed out. THAT is what exsanguination is, not to 'stab it in the vitals'. Please actually learn some facts before posting next time.

The current isn't even meant to kill the animal, it stuns it, so it doesn't feel pain when it's throat is cut. @sikeruke nope your wrong the pain from getting shot with an arrow is worse than havving a clean shot from a gun which is how they are usualy killed in a slaughter house. if an arrow doesent peirce a vital organ they will just have a slow paifull death, whereas in the slaughter house the pig dies instantly when the bullet destroyes the brain.

@rednkferever Hi I hunt with .246 and my mate shoots longbow. He can pull 180lb and put a bodkin throw a six inch oak plank. I can blow most of the back off the same plank with a .246 hollow point. Arrows carry very little kinetic energy and can not disperse it by fragmentation. Unlike hollow point bullets. Arrows do not kill clean ever. Fact. Sorry but all you are doing with an arrow is stabbing the target. Not disrupting it or shocking it.

@CandyCrayon91 you know hunting now is used by the government for conservation purposes as their arent a whole lot of natural predators anymore (also pigs cause around a 100 million in property damage every year). To me this seems alot more humane then the pig being taken out by a wolf or being killed during the winter. Nature is rarely as humane as a well placed arrow or bullet.
