@Twisted4000 I think the deal with the Green Album is that, for most of us, it was just completely unexpected. Weezer was supposed to have wimpered out after Pinkerton. And then BAM new album. And it rocked from start to finish at a time when a lot of bands were just cold refusing to do that. I love it. Still, I agree Make Believe is probably a better record. Maladroit is pretty good, too. I don't think they made a bad record until the Red Album, and that one is almost like a comedy record.

@kriswright Red almost seemed like a comedy album? It was the first time that Rivers actually wrote songs traditionally since Pinkerton. Green, Mala, and MB were all crafted from an "equation" that Rivers came up with to make perfect pop songs.

Now Raditude... that seemed like a comedy album.

@lazrpo Just a personal preference here, but if the Green Album era was all written by equation, maybe Rivers should keep using that equation. That's one darn good equation! (How do you even write a song by equation? Personally, I always thought that story was PR to put Rivers over as some kind of pop rock scientist.) When I said the Red Album was a comedy record, I meant it literally - the lyric sheet to Pork and Beans could almost have been written by Weird Al, it's so funny.
