Why do guys always try to downplay tapping so much? It's not an easy technique to master. Reb can do even Holdsworth-ish lines by incorporating his middle right finger. When you think about it, It's a pretty stress relieving way to play such materials unless you have hands like Paul Gilbert.

Although Doug is faster and would insync better if they are given the challenge to pick all notes, Reb knows how irritating it sounds when you don't properly pick the strings the right way. Always clean!

I dont think anyone could smoke reb. I think that they both rule. I have always been blown away at the things that Doug can play on a Les Paul. But Rebs tapping is second to none. And by none I am also including Van Halen. Whom I also like. But is much different. I just miss monster guitar players. Todays music just doesnt do it for me.

I'm not gonna play the whole who's better game because it never gets anywhere. But IN THIS VIDEO...Doug is clearly better. He shows Beach up lick for lick, and after Reb ran out of gas...he pulled out the TAP CARD. He even states himself how much "cooler" Doug's playing is, then goes on to say "that's how he'd like to" and that he "can't do it." I'm not making this up, watch the last 10 secs of the vid, he says it himself. Not to mention Beach's empty licks and phrases that go nowhere.
