GET RID OF THE UNIONS, THEY DRIVE THE COST OF GROCERIES UP. IF THESE SUPER MARKET EMPLOYEES HAVE TO PAY MORE OUT OF THEIR POCKETS AND INTO THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE - SO LET IT BE. ALL OF US HAVE DONE SO. THESE EMPLOYEES WANT, WANT, WANT, WANT, AND WANT MORE. TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND IN THESE TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES, BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A JOB. I AM FOR THE SUPERMARKET COMPANIES AND STAND 100% BEHIND THEM.
Last time your Union Bosses kept their jobs and were paid by your salaries. They had no worries about losing their pay or putting food on the table. YOU NEED TO WORK FOR YOURSELVES and not the unions. WAKE UP and realize that HEALTHCARE in california is EXPENSIVE! Everyone who works in California pays their own way for healthcare in some way or another. If you really want FREE healthcare...become a doctor or nurse.
$26 a week is too much for your FAMILY?? HAHAHAHAHA
It is $1100 to $1600 a month to cover a family you fkuking IDIOTS
I do believe the grocery stores dont pay enough, but GEE WHIZ...they are practically GIVING YOU an extra $5 an hour in HEALTH BENEFITS you stupid fkcukS!
@AmericanKnowItAll3 You dumb moron, you think 62000 out of 67000 union members would risk a strike for 26 dollars a week? Educate yourself before u post a stupid comment like that. The average employee there make between 12k-35k, and u think 1600 a month is ok to pay? Guess what, you amongt the rest of the working americans are going to pay more on taxes, to pay for 62000 employees who get on welfare. fkn moron.
@soca1a1 you fucking loser.....the average FULL time employee does NOT make only 12k a year..and if you fuckheads get health insurance part time, count your blessings you idiot.
As for WHY you are going on strke, it IS because f the $23 bucks a week your stores want you to pay to cover an family. Your average full time worker makes at LEAST 2 grand a month or more and YOU KNOW IT...it costs the AVERAGE worker in another field at least $400 a month and you whine about $100 a month FUCKFACE
Having a family member who works for one of the striking stores, I will only say that wanting healthcare should not be a crime. However, I do hope these union members will wake up and smell the coffee (overpriced on aisle 4) to pad the pockets of union bosses. When will union members realize that without the union if you're a hard working employee you'd do far better if you didn't have to carry those who don't, but get the same benefits as you. Drop your union and keep your job & bene's.
I read all the smack about corperations, Evil, Greedy, Heartless, etc. A corperation is in Business for one thing only, MAKE MONEY. You need a job to make money. That is why you have a Job. If they dont make money, they raise prices, cut staff, close stores. Corperations are anticipating increased taxes, and closed loopholes. That will impact the costs of food & fuel. Corperations are not welfare, or the govt. They owe you nothing. You want to punish business? Do it to Foreign business, not U.S.
fucking corporate greed.... they make millions but yet they dont want to pay for their employee's healthcare... makes me ashamed to work for albertsons
Hey, it's okay, Obamacare will take care of you. You see, if the Corperations don't give you Healthcare mandated by Obamacare, they will have to pay a fine. See you guys won Obamacare.
Just keep this between us, the coverage that Obamacare mandates cost way more than the fine, so aslong as the corparations don't find that bit out, we'll be okay. Dont' want them to know that they could just pay the fine and not offere medical coverage. That would be just silly right?
@SpinCage Stater Bros and Food4Less are both UFCW union stores.
Ever notice how Ralphs, Vons and Albersons prices are way higher than other union stores such as Stater Bros and Food4Less? I can pay $2 for a loaf of union bread (at Staters or Food4Less) or I can pay almost $5 at Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons so that these corporate bloodsuckers can have a cushy life...no thanks.
^I fixed that post for you, SpinCage. I guess Vons Ralphs and Albersons are just plain greedy.
@SpinCage A cushy life? My best friend lives in her Bronco because Corporate fascists always try to exploit loop holes on what's legal and tug on them. There are corporate law firms in action as we speak working tirelessly to find "grey areas" to amp up the BS and other misery inducing tactics so the rich can get richer. Health is and should never be a privilege. We're not asking for wealth, we are not even asking for a life, we are simply asking to survive....to get by....
If you aren't making enough money to live on from your job, it's time to quit that job. PERIOD. The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be.
