Has anyone ever thought that maybe blacks do cause more crime than whites. Is that racial profiling or a fact? What if it's true. Wouldn't you be more suspicious of blacks? I know after 9/11 I am more suspicious of men with long beards from the middle east. It's not racism, its just common sense people. I think the issue is attitude of a community. When blacks act all tough and gangsta like, then you are very warry of them. If they act respectful you are not. Same is true for whites.

Can I add that poverty is what causes more crime. It Has nothing to do with race. Blacks who live in affluent areas do not have a high crime rate among them. I use this scenario all the time with people. "If a white man living in surburbia, who has never been in trouble and lives a good life can go home and murder his whole family because of the idea of being poor why are we so surprised that there is a high crime rate in urban neighborhoods where people are living in poverty everday?

However, once the professor showed two forms of ID he should have gave the man his ID said sorry for your troupble and left immediately. To further question him after he proved who he was would have pissed anyone off. Then to lock up a 58 year old crippled professor who was in his own home and who wasn't a threat to anyone was ridiculous. Regardless of what race he is. I mean really he has a cane.

One of my degrees is in law enforcement and it is documented proof due to homogeneous hiring practices of the American police department nationwide of primarily white males. Disproportionate hiring practices of such a sensitive and important area is a constant detriment to the effectiveness of crime prevention.

Then they fall back on the fact that there is a law to prove that there must be profiling. Show me that statistical data on the prosecution of the violations of these Racial Profiling laws.

In Kansas the one and only case to go to court for a violation of the profiling law was shot down. Each time you break a case down to the facts the profiling issue dissappears.

In a developed nation like ours, one has to make their claim of racial bias in an intelligent, demonstrable way before acknowledgement and remedy is applied.
