Younger people will be unaware of this, but what our government is doing to us now is what we used to negatively say about repressive governments such as the old Soviet Union. We have become them, so to speak and eventually, and sadly, our government won't stop till they drive us to revolution. The stronger the government gets, the worse it becomes for it's citizens.
@gfreakj - Off subject a bit, but if you compare the body count of terrorism with the deaths caused from everyday activities such as driving a car, or to health related problems, terrorism is almost a non-issue. This makes me wonder why we are spending such huge sums of money to combat it and to use it as an excuse to destroy the freedoms and rights of our citizens. Just wondering?
@StillLearning1000 I have said the same thing. We have only been attacked twice in our nations history. On our own soil at least. Why are we willing to lose so many of our freedoms to protect us from bogeymen. Just seems like the "attack" on 9/11 allowed the government to do what it had wanted to do all along. Control us. I do not necessarily think the government participated in the 9/11 attacks. But to see how they have reacted definitely makes me suspect them of knowing it was coming.
@gfreakj - I believe you to be right. I believe it all started with the National Security Decision Directive #47 (NSDD47), which was enacted in July 1982 by President Reagan and continues to be signed into law by subsequent new Presidents. What it boils down to is... These Executive Orders permit a takeover by FEMA of local, state, and national governments and the suspension of constitutional guarantees.
@StillLearning1000 It's hard to ignore all the signs. Its easier to ignore though. And thats what most people seem to do. But something definitely isn't right with all of this.
@gfreakj - I don't know if your efforts will be enough to make a difference in the long run, but I like the way you think and wish you the best. Myself, I'm more afraid of the cops and the government than I am of the criminals.
@StillLearning1000 Thanks. I have to try to help people see what I see. I fear it may be too late for many people but I will continue on. The cops do seem to be getting m,ore and more out of control.
@gfreakj BTW, this type of thing has been going on since I can remember and way before that. The thing you need to keep in mind our leaders see acts, such as yours, as civil disobedience while you see it as defending your rights and fighting tyranny. Every time a politician makes a new law it gives us another reason to fear arrest. They see it as correcting a problem, even one as minor as this. To have a free society, it cannot be micro-managed. Otherwise, it isn't free.
@StillLearning1000 I do realize that stuff like this has been going on forever. I have many people that worry about me. Especially since I live in the belly of the beast, DC. I am willing to be on a watch list or be wire tapped to speak my mind. I know it may get worse then that down the road. People have to decide if they are willing to stand up for what is right. I am. It scares me but I will not back down. We have to hold on to our God given freedom.
@gfreakj I've taken up too much of your time, but I'll leave you with this... My girlfriend strongly supported the cops and thought I was wrong about my condemnation of them. Last year, she found herself in the back of a squad car, handcuffed and falsely accused. She's a 66 year old retired school teacher. Now, she is afraid to leave the house and for fear that she might see a cop. Many I have spoken to feel the same way. This is what America has become. Keep up the good work!
I'm sure everyone on here has 311, million fellow Americans they would like to invite to our nations Capitol to rally and celebrate our Nations Constitution and each of the Bill of Rights. Perhaps We the People can remind the Government who's the Boss while We the People are at it.
I am a common out of worK. Commercial diver, welder, Project Manager, Veteran American that's ... Enough!
I think the 4th would be a great day to meet 311,+ million friends maybe 6 million can show up to celebrate the Bill of Rights. Won't you help invite all our common citizens and friends.
from the both videos i watched it looked like the cam came on when the cops was in they're face already so it leads me to believe that they must have been voicing something to begin with maybe causing some sort of disturbence
Go for it! It's time for these power-hungry jackasses to be put in their places. Bring your camcorder, because I'd love to see what would happen if you did go and dance there, and so would a lot of other people!

Jefferson believed in the smaller the government the better. The Nation we have today has no right to oppress the people, especially at the Jefferson Memorial.

Make this protest count for every right you possibly can. For example, leave all forms of ID at home, and never give out details like name or address if arrested. You are not required to 'show your papers' in this country. Bring a copy of the Constitution. If someone asks for your 'permit' point them to the First Amendment.
"Law-Enforcement" (to enforce the law) are public servants...they do not, I say again do not have any authority. As you clearly see in the Jefferson Memorial they are in clear violation of the 1st Amendment which is the Supreme Law of the Republic.
Yes they WERE causing a disturbance at the memorial. What gets me is that people come to the monument to show respect then have to look at these mooks. I'm glad they got hauled off

Had the police just ignored these people they would have felt rather silly after a few minutes and then just given up. They were not harming anybody or anything, no disruption.
(Cont) every thing you put out in the world you get back. come on now G, it wasn't just "dancing" - the guys who wanted to make a video were being incendiary, obstinate and disrespectful. if you disrespect the police, you will go down.
@tafaridh i really hate arguing about this kind of thing. you will see it the way you want to.. that's ok :)
in terms of the "law", i believe there was some kind of an ordinance put in place after a flash mob showed up there recently. i'm not sure of the details, i just saw the officer attempt to explain it. i'm sure he wasn't the one making the rules. he just has to enforce them.
@ask123321 "just doing my job" is an excuse made by those with no courage to do what is right. The nazis tried to use that excuse during the nuremgurg trials and it failed. If you hate arguing about this kind of stuff, then stop making comments on here. You can have an opposing view all day long, but it doesn't mean you are right. It does tell me that you have no courage and are bought and sold into the idea that giving up liberty for safety is a great idea. You don't deserve freedom.
@Superlibertytv i comment because you keep writing directly to me. i don't feel a need to argue with people over the cop video because i have respect for other people's "liberty" to see one isolated situation differently than i might. it's ok to disagree. i've been a prof. of Social Psych, and know all about the Nazis and dangers of blindly following a leader.
who is the real bully here? do you really love "liberty", or do you love consensus? think about it.
@ask123321 Supporting the ban on any protests at the TJ memorial is not respecting people's liberties, sorry. I could tell you are a psych prof because you love to turn everything around, hahahaha. I address you directly because you are the one who made the comment about respecting officer's who violate people's rights to protest. No, I don't want to compromise with people who undermine my liberties, and I will bully them all day long just like bad officers and government employees.
@Superlibertytv (you are confused. i am not supporting a ban on protests, but i do not support the methods of protest these filmmakers are using. between the antagonism and the obviously inflammatory and misleading editing, it's doesn't feel right to me. it's manipulative. if you will "bully them all day long" then i guess that is why you experience a lot of bullying in life in return. i think i understand you better now. again, i wish you nothing but the best.)
@ask123321 So when a police officer tells you to bend over, are you just going to do it? When it comes to our natural rights, we have a choice to stand up or bend over.... looks like you're bent. Get off the big kid playground little kid. You're in our way.
@Superlibertytv an officer has never had a reason to tell me to "bend over". i am standing upright and also showing cops respect. when you show them respect, they usually reciprocate.
i am a grown woman. you may project your childishness onto me. i remain unchanged.
i can see from your comment why this entire subject is so compelling to you. you can't even be respectful of another's freedom to have an opposing view. so, please, by all means, keep your juvenile "playground."
@ask123321 you obviously have too much faith in your fellow man and live in a fantansy world where trust and respect of government will ensure you will never be abused. Second, bending over was a metaphore for letting others push you around, but clearly went over your head... not sure what being a woman has anything to do with this discussion and standing up for yourself, but maybe you think that sheilds you from abuse from others. Why don't you go see how much the tsa will respect you.
@Superlibertytv you may stop addressing me directly if you'd rather me not comment.
i understood your metaphor and responded within the wording of it. must have gone over your head.
the only disrespect, abuse, and bullying i am experiencing right now is from YOU. (am i allowing it? or am i confronting you? you tell me.)
once again, if you love LIBERTY so much, then why are you making such a huge deal over someone viewing a situation differently than you? the hypocrisy is glaring.
@ask123321 It seems you like the "let's turn this around game". So let's continue to play I guess.... I can't believe you're making such a big deal about me confronting you, confronting me, confronting you, complaining about arguing with other people confronting police, confronting folks dancing at a memorial who are confronting a judge's ruling regarding dancers being arrested by confrontational police at the TJ memorial.
@Superlibertytv heheee... ok, listen, i think it's fine to confront a judge's ruling on dancing. we have now found a place to agree. how people go about confronting an "unjust law" is another story, but i am happy to just let that be. much love, life and liberty to you.
i know we disagree on this subject and that's ok. just to remind you, the footage was started AFTER the officer was warning them to stop doing what they were doing, not before. so we don't know what they were doing to attract the officers attention in the first place. the "crime" was stated as dancing in form of protest (and obviously antagonizing the police) at a national monument. the officer warned the guy 3 or 4 times to get on his knees... (cont.)
@ask123321 As we probably always will. But it was fun to read your back and forth above with the other commenter. Good tosee you stick to your guns and control yourself. I haver even more respect for you now then I already had.
@gfreakj (i thought i just responded to this but i think it may have disappeared! oh well, if you see two responses, please forgive!) anyway i just said thank you for the compliment, that is very sweet of you. these are very challenging issues. much love, xo
I appreciate the willingness of those "dancers" to put themselves out there so the REST of us could see what kind of abuse our "law enforcement" is dishing out to law-abiding citizens. Looks like "the law" is what those gun-toting thugs decide, *whenever* they decide.
what the hell, maybe i'll see you down there. i figure at some point i need to get off you tube and start standing up against the police state. gotta start somewhere...
they're trying to make america into a fucking nuke town where everyone is perfect and does exactly what they're socially supposed to, in other words, boring and stupid
Mixed emotions about the whole thing. I believe the cops were wrong for giving the reaction that they did, but the people were wrong for trying to force the reaction they got. They knew what was going to happen so they shouldn't have gotten pissed and angry for getting arrested. and @Carrie3570 has a very good point.
@MrMrSalazarr I think you missed the whole point of this.... it was a protest against a judge's ruling and they wanted a reaction to continue the fight. How are they pissed? This sir is how you fight the slow encroachment of tyranny... only through civil disobedience can laws be reversed that impose on the liberties of the people. Otherwise there would have never been any freedom in this world... only slavery and domination by the tyranical elite.
@Superlibertytv You're right I didn't understand exactly why they were dancing for but it also seems as if you misunderstood me. I understand they did what they did to get a reaction from the police, but I feel as if they didn't need to react to the reaction as they did either. Just my opinion.
@MrMrSalazarr It is tactical. The protesters were planned and the cops being there were planned by the opposing side. This is a war of ideology. The protesters have been in this fight for years, and this is just one small battle in the overall war. Most people are very unaware of the war being raged in the USA because it is a war of ideology. TJ would be proud of this war being raged right at his memorial... many of his writings talk about keeping the spirit of revolution alive.
I agree with you to a point. The cop warned the group that was together & told them not to dance or they would be arrested. Next thing you know there is a couple dancing & bumped into the cop like saying "I dare ya". It's rediculous. The policeman warned them, they shouldn't have done it. There was a law passed. If you don't like the law, take it up with the politicians. Why do people have to taunt the police? Cops have nothing to do with passing laws, but they must enforce them - stupid or not.
@Carrie3570 Cops are only obligated to enforce laws that are lawful. When a law is unlawful it must not be either enforced or obeyed. Please take a few moments to review 1) Rosa Parks, and 2) the Nuremberg Defense.
@Carrie3570 So I take it you support black people sitting at the back of the bus because its the law.... hmmm, where would our freedoms be if we listened to folks like you?
@Carrie3570 I sacrifice my time and energy fighting against the encroachment of our liberties not just for myself, but for future generations. The idea that you are not allowed to have personal freedoms because it may not suit the collective is dangerous and counterproductive to liberty. Too many people are told they are selfish for wanting their property rights and personal liberties respected. Silently dancing at the memorial is not violating anyone's rights.
Sorry to be nit-picky but that "no law" comment bugged me. Libertarians and anarchist support laws.
see: An Anarchist Legal Order | by Roderick T. Long [Lecture 10 of 10]
watch?v=FOFdvPyp1r
We just oppose laws where their is no victim (i.e. a flesh and blood person who has been aggressed against in either their person or property)
These dancers were assaulted for harming no one. If you set up a paypal I'll wire you $40 or $50 for your night in jail. I'll even pay you before hand.
The supreme court ruled on the 2008 case, stating that expressive dancing [in the Jefferson Memorial] “stands out as a type of performance, creating its own center of attention and distracting from the atmosphere of solemn commemoration” that Park Service regulations are designed to preserve.
@BeyondLame in my own opinion, i think dancing is not allowed because you've got tour groups there as well, and it can be distracting. I was hushed by a guard there and instructed to speak in a low tone of voice when I was with my friend. I'm guessing they want a quiet atmosphere, like at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
@BeyondLame I can make any argument to suppress freedom anywhere. Had the cops not done anything, this would have been over... the cops took the bate and have lost control over this now. Sometimes inaction is more powerful than action, something overzealous government has a hard time understanding. The people's silence is the death of TJ and our American Revolution and great experiment with liberty.
@BeyondLame Based on accounts of TJ, I would have to guess that he would want people to sing and dance in memory of him.... The silent tomb of TJ is the death of everything he stood for. I hope people will celebrate my life after I have gone rather than some ridiculous silent tomb of death and despair. Sick. I will honor TJ's life by continuing the fight for freedom and dance!
@BeyondLame “I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”) was written by Thomas Jefferson 10 years before he became President. What do you think TJ's response to your question would be?
it was civil disobidence!! they still have rights, they are gonna dance again this week!!! these are not laws!! there statutes or ordinances...totally different things. they need to hang cops that violate ppls rights and it would stop sooner than later. adam served in iraq to come home to get arrested for free speech at the JM. man you need to take ur camera and go dance saturday!!!! yeah the ppl support you!!
This has been flagged as spam show
"The Jefferson Memorial is not a Go Go Bar to dance you Bitches!"
and to the all mother fucking protesters "you are the people who destroy the freedom and rights"
"you are the one setting all this up and leaving United States as bad country"
"its shame for you to say that your an American citizen" learn to respect The Memorial and The Country.
God Bless America!

@ask123321 disrespectful you say? ok, what law was broken for them to be disrespectful?
tafaridh 9 months ago
@tafaridh i really hate arguing about this kind of thing. you will see it the way you want to.. that's ok :)
in terms of the "law", i believe there was some kind of an ordinance put in place after a flash mob showed up there recently. i'm not sure of the details, i just saw the officer attempt to explain it. i'm sure he wasn't the one making the rules. he just has to enforce them.
the disrespect toward the officer is obvious.
ask123321 9 months ago
@ask123321 "just doing my job" is an excuse made by those with no courage to do what is right. The nazis tried to use that excuse during the nuremgurg trials and it failed. If you hate arguing about this kind of stuff, then stop making comments on here. You can have an opposing view all day long, but it doesn't mean you are right. It does tell me that you have no courage and are bought and sold into the idea that giving up liberty for safety is a great idea. You don't deserve freedom.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago 2
@Superlibertytv i comment because you keep writing directly to me. i don't feel a need to argue with people over the cop video because i have respect for other people's "liberty" to see one isolated situation differently than i might. it's ok to disagree. i've been a prof. of Social Psych, and know all about the Nazis and dangers of blindly following a leader.
who is the real bully here? do you really love "liberty", or do you love consensus? think about it.
i'm off to enjoy my freedom.
ask123321 9 months ago
@ask123321 Supporting the ban on any protests at the TJ memorial is not respecting people's liberties, sorry. I could tell you are a psych prof because you love to turn everything around, hahahaha. I address you directly because you are the one who made the comment about respecting officer's who violate people's rights to protest. No, I don't want to compromise with people who undermine my liberties, and I will bully them all day long just like bad officers and government employees.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago

Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv an officer has never had a reason to tell me to "bend over". i am standing upright and also showing cops respect. when you show them respect, they usually reciprocate.
i am a grown woman. you may project your childishness onto me. i remain unchanged.
i can see from your comment why this entire subject is so compelling to you. you can't even be respectful of another's freedom to have an opposing view. so, please, by all means, keep your juvenile "playground."
ask123321 9 months ago
@ask123321 you obviously have too much faith in your fellow man and live in a fantansy world where trust and respect of government will ensure you will never be abused. Second, bending over was a metaphore for letting others push you around, but clearly went over your head... not sure what being a woman has anything to do with this discussion and standing up for yourself, but maybe you think that sheilds you from abuse from others. Why don't you go see how much the tsa will respect you.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv you may stop addressing me directly if you'd rather me not comment.
i understood your metaphor and responded within the wording of it. must have gone over your head.
the only disrespect, abuse, and bullying i am experiencing right now is from YOU. (am i allowing it? or am i confronting you? you tell me.)
once again, if you love LIBERTY so much, then why are you making such a huge deal over someone viewing a situation differently than you? the hypocrisy is glaring.
ask123321 9 months ago
@ask123321 It seems you like the "let's turn this around game". So let's continue to play I guess.... I can't believe you're making such a big deal about me confronting you, confronting me, confronting you, complaining about arguing with other people confronting police, confronting folks dancing at a memorial who are confronting a judge's ruling regarding dancers being arrested by confrontational police at the TJ memorial.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv heheee... ok, listen, i think it's fine to confront a judge's ruling on dancing. we have now found a place to agree. how people go about confronting an "unjust law" is another story, but i am happy to just let that be. much love, life and liberty to you.
ask123321 9 months ago
i know we disagree on this subject and that's ok. just to remind you, the footage was started AFTER the officer was warning them to stop doing what they were doing, not before. so we don't know what they were doing to attract the officers attention in the first place. the "crime" was stated as dancing in form of protest (and obviously antagonizing the police) at a national monument. the officer warned the guy 3 or 4 times to get on his knees... (cont.)
ask123321 9 months ago
@ask123321 As we probably always will. But it was fun to read your back and forth above with the other commenter. Good tosee you stick to your guns and control yourself. I haver even more respect for you now then I already had.

I appreciate the willingness of those "dancers" to put themselves out there so the REST of us could see what kind of abuse our "law enforcement" is dishing out to law-abiding citizens. Looks like "the law" is what those gun-toting thugs decide, *whenever* they decide.

MrMrSalazarr 9 months ago
@MrMrSalazarr I think you missed the whole point of this.... it was a protest against a judge's ruling and they wanted a reaction to continue the fight. How are they pissed? This sir is how you fight the slow encroachment of tyranny... only through civil disobedience can laws be reversed that impose on the liberties of the people. Otherwise there would have never been any freedom in this world... only slavery and domination by the tyranical elite.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv You're right I didn't understand exactly why they were dancing for but it also seems as if you misunderstood me. I understand they did what they did to get a reaction from the police, but I feel as if they didn't need to react to the reaction as they did either. Just my opinion.
MrMrSalazarr 9 months ago
@MrMrSalazarr It is tactical. The protesters were planned and the cops being there were planned by the opposing side. This is a war of ideology. The protesters have been in this fight for years, and this is just one small battle in the overall war. Most people are very unaware of the war being raged in the USA because it is a war of ideology. TJ would be proud of this war being raged right at his memorial... many of his writings talk about keeping the spirit of revolution alive.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago 2
I agree with you to a point. The cop warned the group that was together & told them not to dance or they would be arrested. Next thing you know there is a couple dancing & bumped into the cop like saying "I dare ya". It's rediculous. The policeman warned them, they shouldn't have done it. There was a law passed. If you don't like the law, take it up with the politicians. Why do people have to taunt the police? Cops have nothing to do with passing laws, but they must enforce them - stupid or not.
Carrie3570 9 months ago
@Carrie3570 Cops are only obligated to enforce laws that are lawful. When a law is unlawful it must not be either enforced or obeyed. Please take a few moments to review 1) Rosa Parks, and 2) the Nuremberg Defense.
FoodOrFail 9 months ago
@Carrie3570 So I take it you support black people sitting at the back of the bus because its the law.... hmmm, where would our freedoms be if we listened to folks like you?
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv That's not it at all. I think people have lost respect for others. It's all about me, me, me.
Carrie3570 9 months ago
@Carrie3570 I sacrifice my time and energy fighting against the encroachment of our liberties not just for myself, but for future generations. The idea that you are not allowed to have personal freedoms because it may not suit the collective is dangerous and counterproductive to liberty. Too many people are told they are selfish for wanting their property rights and personal liberties respected. Silently dancing at the memorial is not violating anyone's rights.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago

BeyondLame 9 months ago
@BeyondLame in my own opinion, i think dancing is not allowed because you've got tour groups there as well, and it can be distracting. I was hushed by a guard there and instructed to speak in a low tone of voice when I was with my friend. I'm guessing they want a quiet atmosphere, like at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
BeyondLame 9 months ago
@BeyondLame I can make any argument to suppress freedom anywhere. Had the cops not done anything, this would have been over... the cops took the bate and have lost control over this now. Sometimes inaction is more powerful than action, something overzealous government has a hard time understanding. The people's silence is the death of TJ and our American Revolution and great experiment with liberty.
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@BeyondLame Based on accounts of TJ, I would have to guess that he would want people to sing and dance in memory of him.... The silent tomb of TJ is the death of everything he stood for. I hope people will celebrate my life after I have gone rather than some ridiculous silent tomb of death and despair. Sick. I will honor TJ's life by continuing the fight for freedom and dance!
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv
What if I am there to enjoy it and some yahoo is dancing and becoming distracting?
BeyondLame 9 months ago
@BeyondLame “I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”) was written by Thomas Jefferson 10 years before he became President. What do you think TJ's response to your question would be?
Superlibertytv 9 months ago
@Superlibertytv
He'd tell the people to simmer down for other visitors and tourists who wish to learn about him and the memorial.
