Old Liquors is worlds largest collection of rare and historic liquors. We have over 5.000 bottles of exclusive cognac, armagnac, whisky, port and many others! See our channel for our collection.
Hi, i know John personally, the room has a blind drawn over it at all times, it was just raised for filming. And he lives in a pretty remote spot, and earthquake free.
massive collection, and two suggestions: you should keep em in a dark place (whisky is loosing its colour exposed on the sunlight), and there is a huge risk to break them due to some kids around, earth shaking or whatever, i'd definately put this precious collecion to some special prepared basement
The two remakes of this have just scraped 500 views. Between them. This is well over 8700, even though this has poorer audio. Perhaps originals often are the best.....
I hope there will be No Earthquake. I have a collection too, that Is meant to grow non-stop, and the bottles are in a shelf with 2 front doors and a lock. Just in case, We never know.
@cattnipp A new much more professional video has just been produced and will posted very shortly. It's called Whiskyman. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for your comment.
@cattnipp Hi. I have recently remade this movie with John. Search on YouTube for: " Whiskyman Part One"amd "Whiskyman Part Two" Like to hear what you think. Derek Fowell, DexFilms
Good God no. John has a whole shelf of drinkers. When he finally tracks down the origin of a Mystery Malt, He'll have a bottle on the shelf for visitors to taste from the distillery that the malt would have been from. John has a dram everyday.
Hey John! I work in a liquor store here in British Columbia Canada. We've been told on many occasions that we have the best selection in my town which is a fantastic thing to hear! I impressed myself when at 2:10 in the video you said lagavulin thats what i thought of too! Thanks so much for showing your collection its absolutely incredible! We have some Douglas Laing and some Glenfarclas 30 year old!
Should the Whisky be on the shelfs espressed to the sun the way its shown in the video? For how many years the whisky doesnt change significatly when in the sun?
You can tell that this magnificent bastard loves his shit.
"From here down to the floor..." "From Germany" WTF? (Love it!)
You can tell that the fella has a system, but if you are gonna discern it, good luck. F'd up, but charming. Depending on price, it can be heaven or hell for your avid whisky drinker.
Now that, sir, is a life well spent. Thanks for sharing this museum quality collection with us lesser mortals. I, for one, will gladly pay to see something as amazing as this. Regards.
Scotch single malts are made from a single selection of barley. Other whiskies can be made from a mix of several grain whiskies, blends from several selections of single malts.

Just to clarify. Bastard malt=independent bottling
Finlaggan was the king of Isles before they were conquered. If you go to Islay you can see the ruins of the Finlaggan kingdom.

Post your address and we'll drop in for a wee dram some time! Hope that hot weather down under doesn't affect the malt!

Blended whisky: Blend of malt and grain whiskies from different distilleries.
Vatted Malts / Pure Malts: Blend of malt whiskies from different distilleries.
Single Malt: Blend from different casks from a single distillery.
Single Cask: Whisky taken from a single select cask/barrel which fares well on its own.
Single Malt is blended from different casks to ensure a consistent taste across different batches, but is always from a single distillery.
