@BiohazeTV IIRC, the goverment HAD sherry, but wesker took her from them, i could be wrong, but the question remains, where is she, and what is going on, i think if she remained in weskers 'care' she would be a villan, and would be hard for leon and claire to fight cause of their past, i think it would be interesting to have a game about her, wither it be her rescue, or her escape... (maybe both, telling both sides of the story...)

Recently in finding this video and surprisingly after watching this Wesker Report, Wesker obviously is the guardian of Sherry, basically holding her "hostage" against Sherry's will. Resident Evil 5 sums up of what happend between Chris and Wesker over the years and reveal's Wesker's plans. And if you never beat RE 5 yet, the end will show that near-solid conclusion of the Resident Evil series.

The only thing I see in Capcom making another direct sequel from Resident Evil 5 is when all the characters from all previous games (that are still alive) come together and put an end to the remaining Umbrella corporation and its affiliates.
