It's too damn bad. Madonna got off to great start with "Desperately Seeking Susan" in '85. But then she followed it up with this stinker and the even worse "Who's That Girl?" She wasn't bad in 1990's "Dick Tracey" but her film career basically derailed to the sound of contemptuous guffaws.

Had she only been a bit more careful and patient in her choice of roles, she could eventually have been taken seriously as an actor, then again, the same could have been said about Elvis Presley.

She actually was great in Who's That Girl considering the character she was playing. I think the problem with Madonnas acting is her voice. She doesnt know how to act with her words. Shes great at expressions and moving with her body but when its time to say the lines she sucks. Which is why I think she was so great in Whos That Girl. She got to put on a funny accent and not speak like 'Madonna'. I think the only movie she shouldnt have done in her early career is this one.

Oh come on! This movie wasn't so bad. Yes, first 30-35 minutes are boring but later this movie becomes better and better. I said so because Shanghai Surprise has so many haters.

The description for this clip is ridiculous. Sean Penn is a near-treasonous scumbag, a convicted woman abuser, and a talentless actor who got where he is via his director father's nepotism. The only respectable person involved in the making of this film was the late George Harrison, RIP.
