I've been to Costa Rica, but I never saw a Sloth. I did however hear and see a heck of a lot of Howler Monkeys which if you are not used to it will scare the crude out of you in the mornings. If you are lucky enough to see Morph o Butterflies they are an absolute beautiful site.

You should definitely go to Costa Rica, Eric! I went about three years ago and had the awesome experience of watching a Sloth climb down it's tree, which is something they do very rarely. Also, if your surfing, watch for rocks. I thought I got lucky finding an empty spot of surf, but I didn't see the few rocks inches below the surface. Destroyed my left knee on one of them :(.
