  • with that kind of equipment you should just make your own damn heads. from scratch

  • I really don't care for Haas mills, particularly because they lack a lot in the way of rigidity (recirculating ball guides are to blame). For a little more a Milltronics machine with roller guides would be better- and have a PC-based control.

  • @douro20 I've been told Mori Seiki mills were better than Haas VMCs. Having said that, I run a Haas mill , no experience with Mori except for old chuckers. What's the deal?

  • @motel29

good god man. have you not seen the new mori seki lathes and mills?they are amazing, and tolerances along with tooling touch off is the among the best.

I love the haas control, but that is about it when it comes to high tolerances.

  • All the programming for our CNC head programs, is done with Mastercam X3. All modeling is also done in MastercamX3.

  • What CAM program did the G Code for this ?

  • what about 4 cyl and6cylinder heads...do you have enough rotation to clear the head to table

  • Kind of bizarre seeing a Five axis CNC working on a VW beetle head designed in the thirties:)

  • @RotarySMP
