  • holy shit those batteries are dangrous as fuck

  • they should make those batteries so that u can slide them in the tubing of the bike and the controler just put in that empty space behind the front wheel...sweeet

  • Big deal. It's easy to make a high-powered bike if you use a big motor and a big battery. How much do you want to spend? These guys are targeting people who don't care about money.

  • You could put that kit on any mountain bike like a trekk!

  • I thought 20mph was legal limit?

  • does this bike handle fat people?

  • @TheHeartOfTheLion They need to pedal.

  • Their website says prices for the bike start at 4499.00 or 1200.00 for a conversion kit for your existing bike, could buy a good second hand car for that money !. don't get me wrong i would love an electric mountain bike and i would use it every day but i just can not justify four and a half thousand for an electric bike or 1200.00 for a conversion kit and then have to buy a bike on top. great video love the product just not the price !!

  • Google Busettii Outlet. Very cool E mountain bike

  • 50 kph

  • great video! How much (and where) can you buy the battery packs? I've seen others use the 36 volt DeWalt batteries. What are your thoughts on that?

  • great byke. I love it.

  • Regenerative braking?

  • Incredible bike! Can someone please give me some tips about bikes? I'm wanting to get either an electric or motor bike to get around faster but don't know which to get. Electric bikes I hear don't go very fast but save $ over time and motor bikes are hard to build and require a lot of upkeep yet can fly down the street like the one in the video. I'm not rolling in $ but I've saved up some for a good one. I don't know which to get, can someone give me advice? Thanks!

  • what is the watts# of the hub motor? very nice set up

  • DONT WORRY ABOUT THE LACK OF HD - TRY BUYING A SOUND/WIND PROTECTOR FOR YOUR CAMERA !

  • I was wondering how much this bike would cost??? I have rode the BUsettii bikes bikes and they are also fast like this one and can run 50 miles on a charge. I know those cost about $1900 but what do these cost? Thanks

  • If you set it for20 miles an hour and pedal in high gear instead of being a lazy bum, you would easily double or triple the range.

  • it does good on the grass HILLS

  • hey man, i love bikes, where did u get it? i need one here in ecuador

  • im going to build one of these out of my trek. so bad ass. really. but i plan on adding an extra mini-motor for a relay charge when regular pedaling to recharge the battery.

  • i have rode a better bike then that my 2011 specialized hardrock

  • Yes, I ride a busettii Big 50 Mile Bike ! I have had it for 3 months and it is great. My friends have other e-bikes but they are way slower and wimpier than my Busettii. I can get up to 60 miles on one charge and the top speed is about 27 MPH but they are selling at just $1700 now. BECAUSE OF THE BIKE paths and the right shoulder of the road I can go faster than cars across town. I want to try Busettii's new VORTEX mountain bike soon ! It goes 85 miles on one charge. ciao

  • nice

  • how long does the battery last and how long does it take to charge it

  • how long does the batery last

  • i get 35 mph, off of my 48v 1000 watt motor

  • I'd like to see the batterys mounted lower, course that thing has suspension in back. I never had a suspended bike, I could live with a normal bike and have the batterys between the wheels. Wow, it looks like it has some power, what's this crap about bikes over 20mph, hell I can pedal faster then that. Put some batterys in a back-pack and nobody has to know it's electric, or have more distance. Really a neat deal, now I gotta make one.

  • @505197 at least in my country (not the US), if you got something going faster than that speed by motor, it counts as a vehicle and you have a ton of new requirements...

and originally, this exception on the speed was intended for electric wheelchairs - not bicycles.

  • I beleive you , it's a nice bike-the road needs to be repaved-cant wait to buy one-where can I get one

  • Here's a note, since the battery doesn't hold much of a charge how about put a charger on the bike so that when you pedal you charge the battery. That would make me raise a brow to the high price of the bike.

  • how much??

  • can you have an electric bike that also has a gas motor on it?

  • i don't understand why the government won't allow high speed electric bicycles yet they allow cars anyway. it as though the want to keep people cooped up in cars. anybody can pedal at 30 mph on a pushbike anyway. THats point we want highspeed electric bicycles capable of 40 mph and we have the technology. it annoys me our government want to restrict us on purphouse t keep the motor industry and petrol industry alive

  • @1982FMJ same reason why seat belts are required

  • with my bike i tried to like max out my top speed and out put it used to go 20 miles now it goes 10 and i got the speed up to like almost 40 i also flipped of my bike when i hit a small dirt hill at max speed.

  • u got awfull roads there :(

  • just ride a normal bike and use EPO

  • What's the use of this? If you're too lazy to peddle go on and buy a moped for that money... -_-'

  • were can i get the battery pack set up i have a 48 volt bike kit that uses lead acid and when its fully charged the volt metter reads 52 volts so i need a litho set up so i can go up hills with ease

  • 30mph, it's always fun to kick a cars butt around town.

  • to much wind noise, need as better mic :)

  • you guys talking about economy... You realise there -are- different types of batteries that can hold a charge longer, right? Technology in batteries is progressing quickly now (if you notice laptops)... Longer distance = higher quality + more battieries (has nothing to do with the bike or motor)

  • Looks great and thanks for posting. Can you tell me if when you peddle the battaries get a bit of charge or does it depend on being charged by an outlet.

  • @laurasIs2c I want to know the same thing, I hope you get an answer.

  • lol 4:43 - 4:48 it's wild wild west

  • @mario712145 looooool hahahahahahaha excactly

  • @mario712145 ROFLMAO :D

  • Nice work. I use my road bike quite a lot and the mountain bike for quick trips to the store or a friends place. I'll bet if I had one of these I could still get a workout by pedaling and just use the battery for a little bit of a power/speed boost to get there quicker! I think this is a fantastic option.

All you naysayers out there that are complaining about the mileage, howabout getting off your keesters and pedaling a bit... that just might help don't you think!

    :-)

  • Very Nice. Love the Acceleration ! Can you imagine if everyone rode these. what a quiet, clean air World we would live in...ahhhh

  • I have this exact bike but without the electric motor and it only weighs about 28Lbs. so 50Lbs is a HUGE difference. Plus i can already do 30MPH on the street by just pedaling.

The electric motor is a cool design and idea but its not practical.

  • I used to ride my bike 20 miles a day for exercise. If I wanted something to take me to and from work it would have to go a heck of alot farther than 20 miles per charge. It's a nice toy but not very economical.

  • Too much money for the very short distance it will take you per charge. Not worth it.

  • @organichealthycoffee

It's a bicycle. 20 miles is more than enough.

  • @Charles2337 I ride my bike 36 miles a day, so for some people 20 miles is not enough

  • @rellirTnoraa1

    I see.

They do sell extra battery packs though. Why not buy two battery packs and swap them when one runs out? You can build a battery compartment on the side of the bike.

  • @organichealthycoffee just add agm harley batteries in series...

    done deal...

  • @organichealthycoffee How is 10 cents too much money , the average cost per charge for an ebike is 3 cents

I'm only estimating the cost of this bike even at 50cents that's cheap compared to other form of transportation

  • @organichealthycoffee ...umm..it would cost about 12 cents to fully recharge this bike... cheer up .

  • @organichealthycoffee ...umm..it would cost about 12 cents to fully recharge this bike... cheer up. A 30 plus mile distance..is not "a VERY short distance my friend.

  • ha ha lmao 4:42 random grocery bag

  • um cool

  • Informative clip and the narating of the rider is clear and brings out all the best points of the bike. I can't wait to test drive one.

  • why do you need an electric bike its just a bike just ride it !!

  • THe wind noise just ruins this video.

  • nice road

  • wow mountain biking is supposed to be for challenge and work out not to just sit there and twist a throttle i think this is the laziest you can ever get

  • so if theres a cop your worried about or getting caught just stop and take the battery pack off so it looks like a normal bike

  • cut back on the organic healthy coffee, its making you angry

  • Being able to quickly remove the battery bag is huge. That thing would get stolen immediately if you parked it somewhere.

  • Just realized the video quality is all the sudden really poor. Don't know what happened....it was filmed in HD!!

  • @bringdabayback

Hey, can you pedal at the bikes top speed to make it go over 30 mph? Like down a hill ect ect?

How about going up hill, can you pedal with the motor on for more power? Thanks and nice bike! I really like it a lot.

  • HI i have exactly the same question as smaura 108

  • Where are these sold? How can I get more info? How much are they? How are they recharged?

    Thanks

  • @smaura108 have you received an answer on your question yet? I have the same question

  • go to hi-powered cycles web site. they start at 1700 dollars;(

  • Negative comments are boring. I bet these people haven't acheived anything in their life.

  • Is there any way to use the wheels to generate a current when the motor is off to recharge the batteries? - I dont expect it to be enough to fully recharge them in one ride, but it would be a good way of increasing the range of the batteries.

  • @DocLow yes theres is xD if you create a dynamo and put the magnet on the wheel it will generate electricity(AC) can be changed into DC with a diod i think

  • @DocLow - Yes, you have to get a crystilyte controller, they have a function that will put power back into the batteries when you use the brakes! I think it's called regenerative braking. It uses the motor windings to help slow you down and at the same time generate electricity, you could probably pedal through this function but I think it would probably be very hard.

  • Great! Love it! If you have some solar cells it's a real freewheeler ah!

  • i have one like that....but one question....needs license or not ?

  • nope

  • well, hubmotors throw off the whole balance of the bike (esp. offroading) with all that weight in the back wheel... using a hubmotor on a full suspension will also greatly increase the unsprung weight and massively decrease its performance. just imagine pedalling your bike around with an extra 12lbs in the rear wheel..

and it's boring because slapping a hubmotor-wheel on a bike is peanuts.

  • hubmotor is boring

  • Funny thing is we got the most compliments on the rear rack and bag. The bike weighs under 50 pounds total which is light weight by most standards. Good luck with your project!

  • clearly disc is waay better for countless reasons

  • thats pretty sweet. one thing i would change is swapping out the disc brakes for v brakes. disc brakes suck ASS for bicycles. please message me if you want to know why! lol.

    sweet bike tho!

  • i want to know why i have hydrolic disc brakes on my mountain bike and they rule if theyre good quality v brakes lock up too often when they get hot

  • Why are v-brakes better than discs?

  • because discs are 1/5 the size of the wheel's diameter therefore the true stopping power of a disc brake is 1/5 of it's actual capabilities. most v brakes' friction zone diameter are about 19/20 the size of the tire's diameter therefore they have a lot more stopping power.

  • WTF are you arguing over disk a v-brakes stopping power?

It is not as simple larger/smaller diameter.

  • @koko56

.......on this bike were just as good as V brakes, but they still had more play in them, and did not stop as smooth as V brakes.

  • WHat do you mean "more play"? In the levers?

  • too expensive

  • You definitely get what you pay for though. Don't waste your time with the cheaply made Chinese kits. Will end up costing you more $ in the longrun

  • HAHAHAHA, "It's for off road use only, lets take a ride on the street"

  • "Legally" you can't drive it on public streets. This was a private neighborhood. Look at our other videos for off road shots.

  • Good build man. This bike shows a couple of important things. First, you need a seat post rack like he has if you want to use full suspension. Second, the rear-mounted motor is an excellent choice because it's 'stealthier' and the rear dropouts can handle the torque of the motor. For a given motor, the voltage will usually determine your top speed. That's why he has 52 V. The range is determined by the battery energy (V x Ah = Wh). You can figure about 15-30 Wh/mile. He claims ~21. :)

  • I also liked that he pointed out the necessity of disc brakes. All that weight in the back would make for some thrilling stops from high speed i must say.

  • Stopping the bike has never been a problem. Never had any problem with brakes yet. Now on our new 40+ mph bikes....that is fast and thrilling!

  • how much money does this thing go for?

  • cool!

  • If its rain/water proof, I will buy one right away, please response ASAP.

  • For the most part, it will not have any problems in the rain. Just don't submerge the thing and you will be fine.

    Derek

  • an electric full suspension bike just doesn't make sense

  • Any why is that? Any high speed bumps you hit will be soaked up by the suspension.

  • Thanks for posting...nice bike.

Why 52V? Why not 24v or 36v? You said it goes 20 miles on a charge. That's what the 24v and 36v guys say too.

  • usually, the more volts the better... cause you can build the motor much lighter/ or get more power out of it

    contra...weight of course

  • 52v for higher speed. The 24 and 36v guys go 20 miles on a charge because those bikes draw a lot less amps and probably have more ah of battery power.

  • All the years I rode bikes and then when I got older I rode motorcycles. Now I am back to bikes and NO ONE has seen the need to fix the greatest problem!! That is, where do you carry stuff? A bike is fine to get YOU around but where do you put 2 gals milk a loaf of bread, you know stuff. Backpack?? So you still need a car or a friend with a car!

  • and your point

  • Just buy a nice backpack and buy half gallons. They are usually the same price or within .10 so its no big deal. Ive gotten many things home with a small school backpack. Im sure there are much bigger backpacks for carrying multiple items.

  • Get a bike Bikes At Work trailer. I can haul a 30 lb cat litter, 10 lb bag of dog an cat, 2 20 lb bags of potatoes, a 24 pack of water, a book shelf, few pack of hamburger, 4 gallons of milk, few loafs of bread, lots of cans of veggies and a flat screen monitor. With my 30AH 48 lifepo4 batteries and Crystalyte 5304 I can haul my 300lb butt and groceries 20 miles round trip with plenty of battery juice to spare! Take that all you nay sayers about ebikes!

  • Lets see what you are talking about.

  • My trailers can haul 6 bags of concrete, & I have done that.

  • Bike trailers are pretty much your best bet for hauling anything significant (ie gallons of milk and groceries)

  • @jtmjtm2001 Take that? if you weigh 300lb i think you have bigger *excuse the pun* things to worry about.

  • how much does it cost?

  • 52 volts geez. In running on 36 volts and its plenty fast. anything higher and it would be really dangerous to try and stop suddenly.

  • 52v is fast but we have never had any problems stopping!

  • nice1...

  • how many more of you are going to have a dig at this guy? the wiring?, peddling? geez some of you cant contain your jelousy can you? its a cool bike that you can peddle if you want to, or take advantage of the assist, its a free country, the USA (the land of the free) and if he wants to have an Ebike with nonPERFECT wiring then its his affair! its a great vid of a cool bike! if you want what he has, do what he does! at least he's on a bike and not a keyboard jockey!

  • Thank you! :)

  • cool bike.public law pl107-319 will give u info on the laws.most cops dont know anything about voltsxamps and they dont count batterys hahaha.

i like your higher voltage=longer range with less battery weight in most cases.your bike looks well built and should give u good service.

i have a sun ez3usx trike i put a phoenix hub motor on running@36 volts with 20 amp hr batterys i go 22mph with no peddling and have to recharge after 25 miles.i have about 3000 miles on my bike with no problems.

  • i've even done 60 mph down canyons in utah.

  • wow, laws state that you can only go 20 mph on your bike? how the fuck are you supposed to get anywhere? I do more than 20 mph sometimes, hell, i've done 40 mph. damn

  • the law only limits the maximum speed up to which the motor can assist. ofcourse a person can still pedal up to the speed limit of the road for all vehicles beyond the 20 mph. see the wikipedia article "electric bicycle laws" for more info for the laws of your state.

  • For OffRoad ONLY!.... But here let me show you on the road.

  • You call that road?

  • I HAVE this bike! I might sell it for $500. What do you think about that price

  • fair, where did u get it?

  • Do you still have this bike for sale? Do you have any pictures? Where is the bike? I'm interested.

  • i do not have picturess i will but them on my profile today. i do not know where he got 50 pounds its only about 25. not even that

  • you dont have it kid

  • ya i do here is the web the pictures are on and i decided i am not going to sell it

  • Are you talking about the frame or the whole package?

  • why do you sell it?

  • hi-powercycles(dot)com

  • where did u get that? whats its top speed?

  • What kind of range do you get on those batteries???

  • $2250 is a lot of money for a bike.

  • Its a decent amount....Downhill Bikes tend to cost more =)

  • are these bikes expensive

  • oh yeah

  • how much does it cost

  • Very interesting setup there.Good work.

  • I appreciate your good design work. I understand your battery is especially light. OTOH, that cantilevered aluminum rear rack is at risk of fatigue-breaking some day, if the bike goes over curbs or jumps, etc. I had that happen with just a short rack and a single 7AH SLA on that rack: CRACK, without warning; the rack had lasted only about 200 miles. I walked the bike home ;(

But for bikes like this, steel racks do not seem to be available. Good video, great work, thank you.

  • Appreciate you compliments and suggestions. We are revamping our rack system and will come out with a new video shortly! Thank you

  • That thing is sweet but a little expensive. bought my E scooter from the Scooter net storeand have been ripping around town on it alot. It rocks

  • He says "since it goes 30mph, it is for offroad use only". You can take it on the street, just don't go that fast! Who's to know what kind of specs it has?

  • I'm not a fan of internally geared.

  • Why? Although a little less efficient, they have a LOT more power

  • There is a Law in England that says you can have Ebike but it must not go over 15mph!!!!

  • wait a second i have a bike that isnt electric and i go around 30mph-37mph and the fastest i have been on it was downhill 50mph i have a speedo on my bike aswell. i dont think there is law in england on how fast your bike is aloud to go though. and im planing to put a washing machine motor on my old bike

  • I may be wrong I often am. The electric bikes in the UK may go over 15 mph BUT the motor must not power them. So up to 15 mph the motor will run above that the motor will free wheel. Also the newer ones must be motor assisted not fully powered You have to pedle all the time or the motor stops. This sounds daft but thats the law as I understand it. Like I said I may be wrong

  • i was going to put a washing machine motor on my pushbike that has 5hp and can do 3000rpm but im not sure i should now

  • lol, at the end, there's like a bag that rolls by like a tumbleweed. but yeah, nice bike, i want to get that.

  • where do you get one?

  • does it require pedaling

  • Which? lithium polymer or lithium ion battery packs, make up your mind?

  • thats fast how long does the battery hold

  • wow hats off to you.

where can i get the kit for conversion? i want to convert mine.

    thanks

  • hi-powercycles(dot)com

  • If you cant have a bike that goes over 30MPH that is 'assisted' i used to ride pro my average speed was 38MPH, does this mean I broke the law?

The UK has learner bikes that cannot run over 11KW which have to be licenced, tested for the road, and taxed as well as insured.

Do you know how much money you would take from lining the pockets of our goverment with your bike, you should be ashamed of yourself!

?? if it goes over 30mph, isnt it that you just need to have a speedo on it?

  • your average speed wasnt 38 mph Im afraid - tour de france is 22mph average and the hour record isnt much over 30 mph

  • I used to ride 30 miles a day every day, after school, before weight lifting and a 30 mile bike-o-thon once a year. Bike-o-thon along with 27-35 16 year old kids, who would ride to the starting point, after being finished, ride back home.

Keeping over 30mph for over an hours period, easily attained by me and 2 others, fastest ive ever been on THAT mountain bike, a little over 50mph down hill, until my rear tire blew out.

Our only issue, running out of gear on top end.

  • its safe the motor?because of risk on the bumps, torn apart pieces of motor.

  • lol, I agree with both you guys on those last comments equally. I know it sounds like a contradiction but you are both equally right. BTW, the currie is well under 100 pounds. It is very practical. If you want to talk about unpractical weight-wise, go look at my 120v Ac Power Hawg. I have made several bikes so I have extensive experience in them. I even research ones I don't make! =). All performance, price and construction info, etc on my channel

  • 8.5 lb motor, that is way to heavy. try cycling yourself you lazy brute!!!

  • I get all the exercise I need doing other things LOL. Plus it's more fun to use electric on a bike

  • I agree with limeytrash comment

  • I can go 43mph, and use almost half the batteries, thats kind of a waste of power and money don't you think? My conversion can cost under 1 grand.

  • How heavy is your setup? Your setup is not really practical for an all around electric bike setup. Good job nonetheless! I would love to see some performance numbers if you have them!
