He went on a personal leave for a while and now is in the AHL trying to come back up. He is the best fighter (his size) in the NHL, but made a mistake with this incident. Last time I checked the Wild finished 12th in the Western Conference and the Canucks finished first. So just give Rypien a fucking break.

This whole thing could have been avoided though if the arena workers would have pulled the drape thing over between the bench and overhang so that the fans couldn't interact with the players. In all honesty though I was laughing pretty hard when I was watching this game live at my house.

There are some things that are not being talked about here. For 1 Staubitz was throwing elbows in the fight earlier. 2 Staubitz slew footed a guy then cross checked Rypien in the mouth. then the linesman came in and grabbed Rypien. He never should have went after the fan and he will pay for it but if the linesman would have let Ryp do his job and settle the score with Staubitz. this never would have happened.
