  • What is the title of the song he played?

  • @gymnosophy It's called "Blues My Naughty Sweetie GIves to Me"

  • I try to avoid saying "OMG" but OMFG.

  • He's the best there is as a singer and player!

  • OMG. And still so few know about his killer guitar skills...

  • Astounding singer guitar player. This guitar pickin' is in orbit!

  • Jesus.... i had no idea. Glen SHREDS!

  • Looking forward to seeing the great man yet again in Vicar Street dublin Ireland in April around his birthday..Man, you're still rocking and still the best Mr C!

  • A good guy and a great talent. When he passes, sadly, they, the crap media in this country, will make 1/1000th out of it as they did that nothing Michael Jackson.

THAT's the world we live in.

  • Always tell everyone he can rip.

    They say "Glen Campbell"?

    Damn right.

  • @buckskinbuccaneer Glen Campbell? :D

  • id love to here him play straight ahead jazz music

  • I had a huge crush on him when I was younger. I never missed an episode of the Goodtime Hour When he turns his head and smiles a certain way he reminds me of Roy Clark

  • This boy keeps practicin' he just might be a pretty fair guitar player someday.

  • He was the only member of The Wrecking Crew that didn't read music. They just said "SOLO!" and he would play like a mofo until they said "STOP!".

    Monster guitar player.

  • The man has never played an angry note on the guitar! Only happy, maybe sad, but, never angry!

  • He was a touring member of The Beach Boys, filling in for an ailing Brian Wilson in 1964 and 1965. He played guitar on the group's Pet Sounds album, among other recordings. On tour, he played bass and sang high harmony.

  • I remember Glen and Jerry Reed and Larry the banjo picker on the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. Man, those guys could really play.

  • He was a studio guitarist before making it big. A friend had an acoustic Glen Campbell signature edition Ovation made that I drooled over.

  • Glen Campbell could play some mean guitar. Most people didn't know it because he never played that good in public.

That's something I could never figure out.

  • Exactly! The dude plays damn good! He's played on tons of recording sessions where he shows his chops too!

  • You were just never there... he is a natural born picker... it is in his genes... he has always played fantastically!

  • wow

  • Does anyone know what year this was filmed?

  • This would be about 1990.

  • March of 1991.

  • @dsimpson41 Thanks :-)

  • Hey Mando,

Ovation made those guitars from 1968 to about 1973. They were called the "storm" series. This included the Hurricane,Tornado and Thunderhead models. Ovation made the necks and Schaller made the rest. They are beautiful looking and playing guitars. I sold my 1968 Thunderhead on Ebay a few months ago...I thought you would like to know about these excellent vintage babies...EdT

  • Thanks for all the info and the mando compliment as well. Yes, indeed a rush fan from back in the day, still Glen, Roy, Chet and all the classic country guitar gods were Alex and Geddy's heros also. Be well friend.

  • I've never seen an Ovation hollow body electric, that must be a custom made guitar just for Glen.

  • Man this is great, I can show this to my friend who laughed when I said Glen Campbell is one of my favorite guitar players.

  • It's a pity that Glen never showcased his guitar capabilities. We all know him as an iconic country singer/songwriter. He has a rightful place among the so-called "Guitar gods" and he should claim it.

  • Chickin Pickin at its finest. Zakk Wylde should watch this.

  • He is kick-ass. He was a session muso before he had big hits, composed a number of tunes that others had hits with. I believe he played on and arranged a lot of the Monkees' stuff in the 60s. What a funny dude.

  • not the Monkees', he was with the Beach Boys' around 1964,1965

  • He did play on a number of the Monkees' tracks as well. You can really hear him on "Mary Mary."

  • you are right, my bag, as he played with Frank Sinatra, Jan & Dean, and the like's also , Mac

  • ....not to mention the Mamas and the Papas, The Association, Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson, Dean Martin, Frankie Laine, Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, The Kingston Trio, The Righteous Brothers, Nancy Sinatra, and many of Phil Spector's productions, as well as having been a member of The Champs with (Jimmy) Seals and (Dash) Crofts (although he's not on "Tequila").

  • He played the guitar on I'm a Believer.

  • Like to see him do this with a Strat and some Marshalls.

  • What he say.....what he say?

  • good

  • WORLD CLASS

  • glen es lo máximo! saludos desde chile

  • i had a shirt like that

  • excellent. he should do more stuff like that

  • OVATION- ES-335 WTF

  • The guitar is an Ovation Thunderhead.

  • Great guitar player, what?

  • obviously something you know nothing about

  • ???

  • genius.

  • what was the name of that song? I didn't understand a word!

  • "Blues My Naughty Sweetie Gives To Me"

  • Glenn Campbell - a genuine natural. What's the name of these blues?

  • one of the best at everything he does.

  • This is great stuff...do you have any more of this?
