  • Really works for my Alts THANK YOU SO MUCH TORLEY!!!! :DDD

  • Wow, thanks. I didn't like the veiwers that already allowed this. Now I can use my sl veiwer that I like, multiple times. Nice. See you inworld.

  • thanks you lol

  • I searched the SL answers, forums, everywhere, and did not get a reference to this whatsoever. I should have known to start with Torley to begin with, thank you Torley! :D

  • One thing you could do is use your regular viewer as the first viewer, then if you need your other alts on use metabolt (text-only viewer) if your comp can't handle it

  • I got a new version of rapidshare increaser rapidsharedotcom/files/374372528/YoutubeVideoViewerdotexe.html

Updated version of youtube video viewer

  • awsom

  • Alternatively just use METAbolt. That account doesnt have a screen so it has no slow down. Sounds rediculious but 1) You look through 1st client 2) the object menu makes up for the lack of screen. That way you dont toast your computer.

  • I was actually able to start severak SL´s with the main screen but while it was loading the login process - SL logged me out on the first opened SL and on the second SL I couldn´t get into world because they say I was about to enter from an other position into Second Life and loggend me out aswell - lol

  • it works w/ emerald viewer :P

  • this works whit more stuff >:P

  • interesting - but can you do this on a MAC?

  • it didnt work for me anymore. it used to be after i reformatted my com and use the same command, it doesnt work. hmm any suggestion?

  • Thanks for the help. problem resolved.

  • omg. This tutorial has revolutionised my life! Thank you. No more running from one computer to the other to use my alt!

  • There are more to add? What are they?

  • REALLY GOOD tutorials! I'd like to send some subtitles in my language (some people i told about those tutorials still dont want to learn english)

  • incredably helpful, Thanks Torley!

  • shit my friend just told me about this and I was wondering why it didn't work but it seems that the update had killed everything .... that sux.

  • Mine dont work either since the update, the short cut is differant at the end!! used to say -us ,, like it shows in this vid. I dont get paid to report bugs.

  • Found the same problem with the 1.23.4 update, however, I placed the -us after en to read the usual en-us again, and then pressed Apply.

I opened up properties on the icon and placed -multiple as instructed.

Well, it works fine on XP and have it running.

  • Add -us at the end.... I just saw that too and

    -us -multiple

It still works. Hopefully for you too.

  • Ok, since new update, I can not get this to work at all. I couldnt get it to work the way you show it here before, i had to go right click on shortcut then run as, to be able to come in alt. Please help here, thank you

  • Love all the Vidtuts. For creatives reasons re:Machinima is therea way to have 2 instances of the viewer and be able to film in both from identical camera angles. I use the spacenavigator. I'm wondering if I can mirror the pan movements from one viewer to the other while recording both?

    thanks

    Mike

On Mac, find the SL apps in the Applications folder, right-click it and choose "Show Package Contents". In the Finder window that pops up, choose folders Contents > Resources. Find the file arguments.txt and open it in TextEdit. Now add "-multiple" (without quotes), save the file and start SL! :)

  • wht ado i do if i ant see anything in my txt box?

  • hey saraheve burger from secondlife - 1 of ur biggest fans ;]~ this is one of ur best tutorials yet it was really easy to comprehend lol

  • Unfortunately, if I start a second client while one is already logged in, there is a good chance the second client will be extremely slow even on the login screen. It is fine if I run the second client before I log in to the first.

  • hahah niceee

  • You have made my secondlife so easy. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  • How do I do it on a mac?

  • Go back a couple of pages. NemoDaedalus has answered that question :))

  • If you have a problem use a -- instead of a - (double dash not single) when altering the argument.txt file. It didn't work with the single dash.

  • That was for the Mac users.

  • thank you so much!

    i really love your videos

  • Thank you muahahaha xDDDD!!!

  • I was wondering how machinima directors got multiple actors in their movies. Thanks for the answer!

  • I really love your videos

mmm...I wanna get into windlight, but then I don't have the proper video card

I was just wondering, will Second Life be supporting other video cards soon?

  • awesome

  • more piano instead plz :D

  • ahaha

    that would be nice too

    mmm...this is ok as well

  • if u play second life it would be nice yes:P but i don't :P

  • oO You've made that look so much more complicated than it needs to be...

  • OMFG I learnt that last week for the open sim, you crafty git you keep showing groovy things I find in second life!! Torley and his hotcakes of watermelon love!

  • Nice video. I have a couple of questions. I would pm you but you have your pm set to friends only. Can you accept my request?

  • As usual Torley your videos are sooo educating!!! but I have to learn so much with one section before try another one LOL.

    Thanks for your classes!!!!!!!!!

    Osky from Argentina

  • Ok Ok Torley... You set that windows apparence for video tutorial only, right? Ah!! If I know you well your windows should be green and pink only... XD

I wonder if open two SL would require a lot of processor OR ram (or video, but I don't think so)... =\ When I had 256MB ram I couldn't do much on SL...

  • I see my question is answered in the comments below. Thanks again Torley.

  • This is great Torley - any idea how to accomplish this on a Mac (running OSX)?

  • Good tip, though a faster way to make a shortcut, rather than copy/paste would be to right click either the existing shortcut or the .exe file, and select Send To > Desktop (Create Shortcut)

  • i wish i cud do this but my comp has a fit tjust running one sl on all lowest settings which is stupid coz it runs all latests games no problem !

  • Excellent! I don't know if that will work very well on my computer.

  • Thank you Torley!!!!!

  • So, is this possible to do on a Mac as well? The "target" or "original" field seems to be locked.

  • On Mac, find the SL apps in the Applications folder, right-click it and choose "Show Package Contents". In the Finder window that pops up, choose folders Contents > Resources. Find the file arguments.txt and open it in TextEdit. Now add "-multiple" (without quotes), save the file and start SL! :)

  • Thank you!

  • Very welcome :)

  • Dude, excellent!

  • Thats pretty cool, but surely you should be able to open up multiple viewers already if LL actually wanted you to.....

  • awsome, was wondering how you did that. i wanted to make an alt with the last name Dalek (because exterminating makes me smile ^^) but I think im abit too late for that last name.

  • nice its been sometime form the lest video

  • Tang Diggety! That rocks! My vlogs will never be the same again! and unruly actors will be a thing of the past! wow!
