  • write me an email, i'll get u some sharp knife sent over...lol

  • Stop looking at my comment and watch the video

  • im just here because of spike.

  • sometimes i lye on my floor and pretend im a carrot

  • Ohmygosh, I need to show this to my dad. We hate Outback, but we LOOOOOVE their Bloomin' Onion. He needs to make this at home. I'M SO FREAKIN HUNGRY NOW.

  • they have those at outback stake house

  • "Onions release a vapor that becomes sulfuric acid when it hits your eyes." How the hell do I still have my eyes, then?

  • @FacePwn64 if the acid is just dilute, it won't do too much harm.

  • @dominic14061995 Sounds reasonable, I guess.

  • this is suck . you need open de onion

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm hehehe

  • if u want to open more put in a ice bath to open more because the cold water shocks it to open more

  • i want a bloomin onion from outback

  • Worst knife skills I've seen in awhile, he's lucky he didn't cut off a finger.

Also, why didn't they bloom the onion before battering and deep frying? The way they're doing it, you'll most likely end up with an undercooked center.

  • they should make a video how to use a knife....

  • you need a better knife..

  • this isn't bloomed enough its just an onion ball

  • onions are good for killing bateria/germs.

  • @mozilgga Faggot

  • @mozilgga that waas gay

  • Chuck Norris eats onions raw because he hasn't got the time to flower them. If he had more time maybe he would.

  • i despise people who hate onions

  • @FrostMan92 Hate me then, bish. I hate onions...if they're raw. I hate people who can eat raw onions and actually enjoy them that way. Let's hate the world together.

  • @FrostMan92 i'll eat any as long as they arent raw

  • when i did this i was half done than the onion made me cry so i cut it up untill it was noting more of it.

  • Whyyyy was this reccomended to me because I watched "How to Eat Healthy on the Road"??

  • This recipe was awful. The mediocre batter mixture did not stick at all and i was left with a soggy, nasty mess of an onion. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!

  • @dudeman88 If that happened, you probably did something wrong....the guy in the video had no issues with the batter.

  • your knife is so blunt

  • That thing is like heart attack waiting to happen.

  • i only liked the fact at the end

  • i think you the best cooker

  • sorry to me this looks gross

    i dont like onions

im also wondering if u cook an onion this way does it taste like the onoion or does it or u cant taste it all & it tastes good ?????need to know pls

  • @vitwaterlover

    They taste like heaven.

  • @vitwaterlover Okay, so you don't like onions, so you come here to a video about ONION BLOSSOMS? Great common sense.

And when you deep dry onions and they cook, they taste a bit sweet. It's like an onion ring, it's not bitter or gross tasting at all, cooked or caramelized onions are sweet and delicious.

  • Don't cut an onion the way this video shows, you'll end up cutting yourself. Also, let it sit after cutting to open up a bit before battering and frying.

  • @flensingknife Yes cut an onion this way....that guy did not cut himself because he knows how to cut things without cutting himself, no matter how close to the skin....so viewers, if you're smart and careful, you can cut anything. Don't listen to this guy.

  • i am eating a big ass bloomin onion right now

  • Holy shit is that knife dull.

  • GO ONION!

  • Oh man how does he still have his fingers.

  • i hate the commercial at the beginning its sooooo slow...:S

  • @Ing00 seems to be going at the same speed as the rest of the video.

  • God this is worse than fired butter.

  • Soak the cut onion in cold water overnight and it will open up and

    blossom even bigger.

  • careful with that knife, Chef!

  • worst cook i have ever seen. get a professional chef for your future videos.

  • I love getting these at the county fair.

  • You butchered that onion....

  • Comment removed

  • what can i use instead of the cajun seasoning?

  • looks good

  • I have to try making this.

  • @tazzy755 Me 2! :D

  • i failed at this. It tastes nothing like the ones in the restaurants

  • @MYOLDNEIGHBORHOOD

theres a book that details the exact method and recipe outback steakhouse uses, including their dip. It's called "Top Secret Resturaunt Recipes". Can probably find a torrent. Its essentially the same as this, except there are a few more steps and a lot more spices.

  • It looks better if you dip it in ice water first then apply some of the mix while spreading the petteles, then dunk in a mixture of milk/icewater with small amount of the flower mixture, then apply the flower mix and spreading the pettles. When you put it in the oil spin it (avoid splashing, fire is bad) top down and push down with a tool to keep spreading, cook halfway on each side.

  • looks like crap

  • How do you know if your onion is sweet or not? o_O

  • @Drearify hite onions are sweet while red onions are bitter

  • @Drearify HAHAHAHAHA XD

  • yummm

  • How do you take out the root thingy

  • wow this looks great:P I gonna make

  • be sure to get some chipotlaway if you use chipotle!

  • ;p ja haal maar voor me geen idee war het is ;p

  • chop a finger off?

  • If you breath in the sulfuric acid from lighting a match you can blow out smoke...I wonder if this works with onions too.

  • There's no sulfuric acid in matches.

  • i'm so making this!

  • that knife is hella dull

  • your are truely right! lol i noticed that too!

  • instead of having it at Outback, we can make this at home!!!!!

  • I want a bloomin onion right now!

  • @whyitsfunny IKR

  • @whyitsfunny Me too! :(

  • @whyitsfunny me too!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg that looked really good!

  • There is an onion cutter for onion blossom, stud.

  • that lucks so good

  • that knife sucks

  • not really

  • yea it was like bending all of the place. and she had to push like really hard

  • That is why I use my teeth instead .

  • they had this in chillis

  • how can someone call that "food" ? o.O

    baahh ey xDD

  • aka aussie fries

  • i've never tried this

  • I think if you peel the onion under cold water, then the tears are avoided.

  • also, if u cut a onion near a open fire tears are avoided too

cause fire takes air ,etc :D

  • No it doesnt, but putting the onion in the fridge for about 1 hour u wont cry. :D

  • or when you chew mint gum

  • the thing the onion releases is sulfur s.oxide, which is an enzyme in the onion tissues.

  • what was with the flour mess. looked kinda awk on a cooking tutorial imo

  • how can you call food stupid?

i know what i can call you though

    stupid.

  • no offence, and not trying to be racist or anything, but I haaateee indian food.

  • of course!

  • I always pull the onion sticks outward so they get well coated.

  • Another alternative is Arby`s onion petals. Same thing, just is petal form.

  • i love fried onion blossoms.

  • Someone needs to show the Outback restaurants this video, and maybe one day they will be able to make them right. I have been at the table for 3 separate orders for these things and they come out half cooked in the center with raw batter in them.

They concept sounds like a delicious alternative to onion rings, but for the life of me I have let to see one at a table in a fashion that looks edible.

  • i have them at outback and so far they haven't messed them up. I wonder how burger kings zesty sauce would be with them? sounds good anyway

  • u need to go to a different outback then. whenever i go to outback, i always get these things. and they are always awesome.

  • our chill's they have a good one but beware theres alot they make it big

  • that looks disgusting

  • AWESOME BLOSSOM!

  • to keep from crying while cutting an onion, place a small bowl of regular water next to the onion you're cutting.

    why?

because the onion fumes are directed to the nearest water source. if you place another water source closer to the onion than your eyes, you are very very less likely to cry while cutting an onion. i've tried it and it really works!

  • A bloomin' onion-a-day keeps the doctor's number in your speed dial!

  • haha

  • that guys knife isnt very sharp

  • it's a woman you dumbass!

  • It looks dangerously unsharp/

  • gross and unhelathy~

  • chill the onion and you wont cry

  • or you could wear swim goggles it looks funny but it works o.O

  • gross...

it kinda looked like a fried spider

  • Getting your eyes hit with the onion's sulfuric acid is like being tear gassed.

  • mm look good..going to the store now! :D

  • Messy cook...

  • if you soak the onion in water for like 20 mins after you cut it, then it will open itself up. That way all the batter gets in there and it looks nicer after it comes out of the fryer and you dont have to try and pry it open while its hot. Just sayin...

  • hungry now...

  • Yeah, I think these originated at TGI Friday's? Either that or Outback...

But these are terrible nutritionally. That and anything fried.

  • Thank you very much Howcast! This is my favorite appetizer. :)

  • it looks yummy nice i will try that

  • Well That's Not Very Nice Mr.Onion...

    Hitting Are Eyes With Acid...

    What A Meany You Are...

  • i want to make this

  • mmm yummy lolz.

  • cool
