Saying that they have 500w on the compression driver is simple marketing trick(everyone does that this days). They use the same 500w amplifier for both drivers(it improves logistics/spare parts management) but the amp it is limited by the DSP to no more than 100w continues power. If you want to improve your JRX125 buy another XTi1000 and use both amps in bridged mode, set the processor inside the XTi to not go below 40Hz and waste SPL energy. And last: upgrade to Selenium compression drivers.2/2
Only ONE Crown XTI1000 simply is not enough for driving two JRX125. Second, comparing JRX125 with K12 is like comparing family sedan car and Comanche state of the art helicopter. Both brilliant for what they are designed to do but totally non-comparable. Compare K12 with PRX612M, both are Bi-Amp and they don't have typical crossover, instead they have proprietary DSP crossover/equalization for getting maximum results from each driver inside the speaker box. 1/2
i'm planning on buying some k12's but i was wondering if they have enough bass for more raving type music, i know they ddont have subs but still have a lot of bass
A mike flores, Im planning on getting two JBL Jrx 125 Duel 15's. this will be my first pair of pro audio i ever get, so could you tell me that there great sound, basically would you recommend them to me . i was wondering, by the way the Complainments of being to loud, would you say it was loud in a good way. or bad way, seriously i couldnt tell how they sound like. i hear it on computer speakers, you hear it right in front of you, well please help me out, people that did comments too help me out
@99693254 I did a hugh KC hall in El Campo, Tx with 2k12's and 2 KW18's and it was plenty. I've seen the big speaker rigs place in the same place and it was too loud to the point of not being able to talk. I'm all about quality of sound not quantity...and My main goal is to provide good sound for the dance floor in front of me, not the entire hall....
Awesome video it really helped a lot and so I appreciated this video very much and now I know for sure the QSC K-12 is the best speakers for me to buy ^_^
thumb up for this great video and thanks for taking time and posting it. I will add and subscribe your channel!
I run two JBL SRX738 as my mains, two JBL MRX515 as delay speakers, two peavey qwave 218 as subs, a JBL SRX715 as a center speaker, and 5 JBL SRX712M for stage monitors, and i got 7 Croxn XTI4000 amps powering it all
@mike71flores must be for a band... but with powered speakers these days why??? They sound just as good get just as loud and are twice as easy to lug around. If I were in a band that needed all that and didn't use line array I'd call myself an idiot! OH, and you can get powered line array's as well. People need to let go of the old and grab hold of the new!
Drop in a Selenium D220ti in the horn on the jbl's and watch out! they will decimate the qsc cabs i give mine 1200w all night long with some corrective eq and they rock the qsc cabs are nice but for the money there is better out there they still have a lot to learn about the speaker business that jbl is king of. also to note the JBL cabs open up at near rms wattage and are wicked around 1000watts where the qsc cabs become harsh at full volume. maintaining smooth response at high levels the key.
I couldn't have watched this video at a better time. I've been using the JBL JRX's for about 4 years now. for smaller gigs, I use powered Behringer B215A's. Which sound great actually. But I've been checking out the K12's at guitarcenter. I'm buying 4 of them in 2 weeks. I'm also looking into buying 4 of the Kseries subs as well. Good vid bud!
Nobody should get complaints if u know how to control ur sound levels with the proper EQ, and compression. EQ the JBLs, RIGHT, and u can get them to sound like the QSC K12.
Not a good comparison. You need to vs. against powered Spkrs like the JBL PRX Series or the E-V Sx-A Series. You'll get a much better sound comparison. The QSCs are fairly good however. I think of the three listed they one of the lowest priced.
do you really need 500 watts for the compression driver? my kv2 ex10"s had just 50 very efficient watts for the HF and 450 for the LF, they ran happily all day at 128 DB, totally awesome! these tops sound nice, wasnt impressed at all with the subs when i heard them
k series sound a lot clearer than jbls, but jbls kick more.. probably the reason for those two.. it complimenets eachother. I have two dual 15 yamahas mostly for bottom and two EV ex1 for tops and it sounds fantastic!
@juah75 ..QSC HPR SERIES..K12 don't hit as hard..the HPR series have birch wood and can handle a good bass with out rattle...check out the qsc hpr 122i...better than the K12..
I used 4 k12s in a club that uses 4 JBL JRX with dual 15 and I could not believe the K12s did the job. The club ask me to use my system since their amplifiers had some problems that night. In less than 30 mins we had the system running. The Ksub had little impact though. I am waiting for the release of the KW181.
JBL's Jrx Model really are that bad QSC Much cleaner less Eq'ing needed & it handles very well with high SPLs JBL just made the JRX Models for a quck buck & marketed for people that dont know any audio or on a serious budget..
I just bought a pair of K10s and I was just wondering how you use the high frequency option, I read in the manual that it is not recommended to use the Vocal Boost option when playing full range music, however I like how the speakers sound with this option. Do you think using this option when playing full range music will damage the speaker or there is no problem? Do you use Vocal Boost or Flat when you DJ?
I am not a fan of those JRX speakers. Only way I ever heard them sound decent is to cross them over and use a sub but that alone can make many crappy speakers sound much better. I would lose the JRX's and get some nice 18 inch powered subs. QSC has a KW series coming out so I would look at getting those 18's when they come out. I am waiting to see the 3-way speaker in this series. Currently I'm running Mackie 1232 and B-52 dual 18 with Peavey CS 3000 and looking to build up a nice 2nd setup
What you need is to EQ better. The JBL's are handling more mids than the K12. Trust me, if you lower the mids, you'll get a better sound from the JBL's.
well i am working on become a mobile dj im still in training and want to know what equipment to get. also i doubt i will be using turntables i will just be using virtual dj. i will be doing parties and weddings and so im just curious as to which one is best value for the money i will be paying for some start up speakers
Crap in what way? I've never had any complains. I run 2 of these and 4 verwin Junior Earthquake. They pretty much do the job better than average. Prob you need to read the spec on them.
wanted to let you know i got the k12 series. They do sound very awesome! Im not happy with QSC running around saying this is a 1000W amp on it. I think its peak watt. The QSC HPR line is RMS ratting power. big diffrence. match it with a hpr181i and it is amazing :)
here it goes guys i got the k10s 2 months now and they are loud, at 36 pounds each and speaker stand and cables all for 1399 bucks, they have good lows with a selector switch on the back, for the weight class they are top dog,,
kool man i was gana get these jrx speakers but the guy at guitar center convinced me to listen to some harbinger he had there and the got less wategd but they sound alot londer and ponshier but these still soind amaxzing
si quieres un buen bajo, quiza la ksub no sea para ti, ya que para mi, no levanta tanto como las vocinas. la ksub trae dos 12's quiza una 15 o dos se escuche mejor, y unas 18's pues aun mejor!
go to sweetwater and notice JBL lowered the price of PRX series almost to K12 prices... why? Cause they know for weight and sound they are beat by QSC.... the engineers at sweetwater are IN LOVE with K12s.... so JBL got nervous and lowered the price and STILL they dont sound as good. the only speaker that will beat a K12 is mackie HD series.. but they are 100lbs.... I have to say the HD's are a very good price for the wattage they put out.
ill go for the k10 hope they sound as nice as those 12's, weight is a factor for me,, i have colum old school speakers about 100 pounds with celestions . a piece not to mention my qsc 18 inch sub,, wich ill have to keep using,,but with my sub and the k 10's this shit has to be awesome,
Vaya comparación, metele una etapa de 1000w por canal a 4 ohms a las jbl que es lo que jbl recomienda y no una xti 1000 que solo entrega 500w a 1khz.

And where ruler K is collected? In China??? It does not confuse you??? Tell more about it... Whether it is necessary to order to Ukraine from America??? This holiday is sounded K12 without SUBs??? On how many their person will suffice... Excuse for my English language, I from Ukraine... Thanks
its bad when you can tell such a big difference in sound on the youtube video. I use to run Dual 15's then Mackie 15 active subs and tops.. The Ksub / K 10 combo blows em all away
very cool set up man.sounded awsome i used the dcmkx212 with a large horn wired into the midrange and sounds great.they have 2 12 inch woofers.really kick .your jbls did the same thing very clear to,awsome are you getin any turntables in the future
Thanks a bunch for this sound off. Very cool, granted on my computer speakers, it doesnt do any justice; you can still tell that the highs and mids was superior on those little boxes. Kinda wishing i purchased the k12's instead!!! :P
Thanks for the comparison Mike. Through the camera, it sounds like the QSC had better definition and the bass was impressive. Did they sound like that live doing the comparison?
yea, but it was a ear hurting loud..not a clean sound....when you can't talk to the person standing next to you it just no fun....never had this problems with QSC though...man I sound like a commercial..
I think the only product that could possibly compare to the QSC K Series of speakers are Dynacord's in quality/power/size but I think the price is a major deciding factor.
Damn Mike, I was gonna get those K12's in the fall!!!!
yea, the dynacords made in germany would be my dream setup , but still a little on the high side of money...i think you drop like 8k for that setup we saw in vegas...
The Dynacord sets are the best...the Cobra systems and the PowerMax 5 are great deals when you factor in that they include the amps and processing and also the quality of the speakers.
When the lights go out you can't see anything but lights...I was THE MC...another DJ was handling the music...it was all for charity...it was all good..

Did they sound like that live doing the comparison?

yes, only had them turned up halfway too...they really made a good box...

Great charity event. Did you tell everyone to deal with the jbls being too loud? After all, it was CHARITY!

yea, but it was a ear hurting loud..not a clean sound....when you can't talk to the person standing next to you it just no fun....never had this problems with QSC though...man I sound like a commercial..

I'm a big fan of the qsc's. I recently bought the qsc hpr151 sub. What a huge difference it made when using with my peavey pr12p's
