yeh when i had my silvia s13 sr20 DE it made that noise aswell the reason is coz u thrash the fuck outta it !!! and by the sound of it its a piston problem!!
Could be a bunch of different things. I had a GA that sounded like this... come to find out it was the timing chain tensioners. Dont let some of these people scare you by saying its a bearing, yeah it could be, but check all the small stuff first. I suggest taking the valve cover off and cranking it BY HAND, and listening to where its coming from, if its coming from where the timing chain is...
yea your prolly right but sr's can rattle and knock because of alot of things also could be blown piston ring or maybe somone has done up the timing chain way to tight and bent the fuck outa everything, big end bearing would be a little louder then this iv done a big end on an sr before lemme tell ya not even worth the rebuild =/
its ur top chain guide jus below the rocker cover, take it off its as ur chain gets older and slacker, jus rip rocker cover off take 2x12mm bolts holds top chain guide and dont put it back on myn runs no guide at top runs 200rwkw daily.
variable valve timing actuactor is also rattling in that clip. i changed mine and got rid of that particular noise. apparently they need replacing at about 80k
Yeah dude check those bearings on the bottem of your rods. My friend is having the same thing happening. Metal shavings even in his oil cause its just crushing it badly.
sounds like u need a new topend bro.
