  • sounds like u need a new topend bro.

  • bottom end

  • its possible that u jumped timing real bad that would cause a knock.. but r u making boost correctly because if u are then scratch what i said..

  • go ka about there. pick one up for 500 bucks and stick with a NA till you can get a turbo job to it done.

  • et hop, une bielle lol

  • Big end bearing. Nothing more. God some people are thick.

  • rod bearing.

had this same prob in my 91 240sx

a few months later after this knock my rod spun.

replace the crank and the bearing b4 its 2 late

  • well thats what was wrong wif mine anyway

  • yeh when i had my silvia s13 sr20 DE it made that noise aswell the reason is coz u thrash the fuck outta it !!! and by the sound of it its a piston problem!!

  • Could be a bunch of different things. I had a GA that sounded like this... come to find out it was the timing chain tensioners. Dont let some of these people scare you by saying its a bearing, yeah it could be, but check all the small stuff first. I suggest taking the valve cover off and cranking it BY HAND, and listening to where its coming from, if its coming from where the timing chain is...

    you found your problem.

  • my Silvia S13 SR20 is making the same sound right now

  • rod bearings I would say.

  • big end bearing.......sorry!

  • yea your prolly right but sr's can rattle and knock because of alot of things also could be blown piston ring or maybe somone has done up the timing chain way to tight and bent the fuck outa everything, big end bearing would be a little louder then this iv done a big end on an sr before lemme tell ya not even worth the rebuild =/

  • its ur top chain guide jus below the rocker cover, take it off its as ur chain gets older and slacker, jus rip rocker cover off take 2x12mm bolts holds top chain guide and dont put it back on myn runs no guide at top runs 200rwkw daily.

  • its the timing chain guides!!!..take both of them and thats it!!!!!

  • have fun rebuilding it or getting a new one :P

  • bent rod

  • sounds like a rod

  • So whats wrong with the engine did you ever find out?

  • it ur rod bearings

  • variable valve timing actuactor is also rattling in that clip. i changed mine and got rid of that particular noise. apparently they need replacing at about 80k

  • That sr20det dont have vvt ;) just see the valve cover dont have the "hole" for it, its from a s13

  • Thats a S15 SR20 I believe.

  • The s15 have vvt, this in the video no, so its from a s13

  • It is an Blacktop SR20 from an S13 180SX. The S13 blacktop did not feature VCT.

  • Yeah dude check those bearings on the bottem of your rods. My friend is having the same thing happening. Metal shavings even in his oil cause its just crushing it badly.

  • Well, turns out it was everything that you guys thought it might be and much, much more. So I just recently got it rebuilt.

  • pull ur oil pan off, the splash gaurd, then take off the grid plate and check ur main bearings...

  • to me it sounds like the big end baering gone

  • sounds like a bad rod
