  • internet was invented in 1978 4 military uses then became public for the world in 1980

  • Bad sound cool commercials

  • did you record this on a printer?

  • @hellonpluto No, I used Windows Movie Maker.

  • Pitfall, holy cow that was a long time ago, like '80: my friend had it I was so jealous.

  • I LOVE ROLOS!!!

  • is bonkers lile Hi-Chews? ;o i never got to try bonkers

  • ..from LJN

    *shudders*

  • the audio sucks so bad i have to leave

  • girl looks possessed at 2:34

  • 1:58 Arcade classics you can play at home was cool nowadays. Now you can get something like that for your iPad called "iCade". I miss the old days.

  • Sound is horrible. Sorry. Great commercials, terrible sound.

  • @KaleKelly1 That's just how I found them.

  • dam cookie crook was replaced by that damn wolf

  • That cookie crisp burgler was a cookie monster wanna-be

  • Thank you for the upload.

  • lol love the atari commercial....SO advanced! lol

  • swift wind sounds like me after a curry

  • yes! transformers dinobots commercial! god, this takes me back

  • I think the woman in the Bonkers candy commercial is Lily Tomlin.

  • @CelesteK

    It's not.

Man I remember wanting those portable video games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man so bad.

  • I forgot all about that Bugs Bunny PSA. It used to come on constantly. I must have blocked it out from seeing it so often.

  • I want to go buy a pack of Rolos, play Atari 2600...

Oh shit I just saw the BONKERS commercial. Remember BONKERS??

And the damn Alpha Bits robot...I remember him....ahhhhhh.

I'm having a flashback of the 80s, someone invent time travel I wanna leave this place.

  • OH MAN. That simon says commercial totally ripped off The Police!!

  • whoa i just had dajavue i felt like i was back in the 80s for a minute oh well

  • Man, I just want to play with old toys and eat sugary cereal right now. Fck being an adult.

  • Man I sure remember those days use to come home from school and watch the old spider man on channel 2 and most of those commercials would air I'n between episodes damn what I would do to be 10 again!!!!!

  • Those Coleco arcade games sucked. The teenaged employee at one of our local drugstores told us Coleco was coming out with a Pac Man game, and that it was going to be exactly like the arcade game. When they finally arrived (which seemed like waiting forever), it was a total letdown. I got one anyway, but it was pretty lame. I still have it out in the garage, I should pop some batteries in that sucker and see if it works

  • Wow..blast from the past! Sunday Cartoons & Bugs PSA, She-Ra!!! I miss the 80's.

  • i totally remember the bugs bunny warning commercial. do not touch the handle on that pot!

  • OMG LOL 2:10, Atari! Now it's all these high tech video games with no games for kids anymore....just gun games.

  • too much value added marketing. delusional consumer psychology

  • I miss these days so much. Hopefully heaven is a place where you can go back and relive the best parts of your life as many times as you want.

  • 80s cartoons were fantastic, but they rotted our mind 4 sure!

  • I would've loved to grow up in the 80's

  • the 80's commercials are too happy

  • @jakicevic The 80s were a happier time.

  • @jakicevic

Yeah , and now people are on anti-depressants in unprecedented numbers. Progress?

  • @periechontology If in 80's commercials was happy, today commercials are in anti-depressants in unprecedented numbers...But commercials in future?Maybe they will be sad

  • I still have those table top arcade games. They sit as decorative pieces in my home office.

  • hey had 5 dinobots I dont know why they ddint make them combine to make a giant robot like the other 5robbot teams

  • "Play ADVANCED games." I LOLed

  • the best thing about the 80's where the arcades and the malls and the movies.. i wasent even born yet but i wanna see the 80......... i was born in '96

  • @fishingboy11 you definitely missed quite a bit ;) i was born in 1980. i saw the beginning of the ninja turtles cartoon, beginning of transformers , go bots, saw the 3 turtle movies the day they came out ;). that was in the 90's though. the music was one of the best of all the decades. i love 80's music. basically 80's music is what techno and trance and all that stuff is today.

  • Damn got something in my eye. :( sniff sniff

  • I miss the 80's so much!! It all went way to fast!!!

  • The '80's and 90's were greatest decades for culture ever in world history!

  • Damn Kitchen..U scary!

  • highest rated comments make great points being a kid today would almost seem boring. the commercials didnt have nearly the "hidden messages" they do today. i'm a child of the late 70's/early 80's and tween/teen of the mid to late 80's so i am not old by any stretch and commercials and network programming and commercials today have not only hidden messages attempting to reach people psychologically nut blatantly out in the open...especially the network programming. I never watch TV except sports

  • @teecuzbruh Agree. I was a child of the 70s. The commercials were brilliant in the 70s because they were subtle. Examples include the Coca Cola " I'd like to see the whole world sing " commercial, the indian with the tear drop in his eye, the Budweiser clydesdales, among dozens of others.

  • Also what was great about the '80s, nothing made in China!

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 You're close, nothing made in Japan, not China.

  • @disneyfan85

couldn't agree more-this was before the advent of nafta, you could easily find made in usa clothing, appliances. most electronics were either made in japan, with some in korea.

nothing made in china really even existed. What has happend to U.S. we are soooo screwed now-I want the good ole days back, I am afraid we will become united states of china here in next 30 years

  • Nothing made in china, chinese market has invaded USA since mid 2000s.

And in the 80s japanese market was already a huge deal in USA.

If you ever watch Back To The Future you'll notice a reference to this phenomena.

  • @disneyfan85 but i thought atari was developed in japan? ;o or was that something else...besides nintendo xD

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 i can't imagine a time like that ;o xD

  • @ScorpioBornIn69 We had the G.I generation in charge back then. They were too patriotic to export American jobs to China. Most of these Baby Boomers and Gen X assholes that are in charge now don't give a shit.

  • Wow thee Atari bahahaha ! So Oldd :P

  • 2:48 /CHOKE!!! HAAHAHHA!!! /CHOKES!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! ADVANCED GAMES?! REALLY?!?! LOL!!!!!!

  • @SatansMullet well, they were advanced for that era, duh. in another 20 years or so, our children are going to be laughing at our "advanced" technology. imagine it!!

  • damn man adjust the sound

  • we not only rented videos at the video store, we rented the vcr to. who remembers the beta machine?

  • @crackbackcrackback i do ;)

there was an adult section in the video store next our home that had nothing but betas in it ;)

  • HOLY SHIT! My sister totally has that pink barbie horse, I am not kidding.

  • the psa around 7:00 - I was actually just thinking of that (and the other one with tweety and the bath tub about turning cold water on first) because I grew up watching this but now I have a baby of my own.

  • 7:24 -_- i realy hate night rider is olmost like ..... well there isnt any worst show then this -_-

  • @danne249 night rider was one of the best shows ever made. BLASPHEMY

  • The wave of consumer electronics must have been really exciting

  • i wonder how many kids actully got that robot

  • @8bitPikachu They probably sent away for it. :) If I remember correctly that robot was a limited time offer.

  • WWOO...you got me way back. Thanks.

  • most of these are 90s

  • 4:02 Google Chrome

  • I'm still playing Pitfall...I wonder how much longer I have to play till I beat it...

  • 2:12, lol he must really enjoy Centipede :D

  • tempest!!!! used to love that game. and i had the table top pac man. damn. im gettin taken back.

  • Wow.... these are TERRIBLE! I LOVE IT!

  • i have 3 of those mini arcade games: pac-man donkey kong and galaxia, 1 got from my uncle, found it from cleaning the storage (still works!) the other 2 are from garage sales! (the video works but the controls are a little mess up)

  • I had a tabletop Donkey Kong Collecio game! Good times!

  • i found a shirt at FOS,it have dino shape and write dino pebble flavoured dino..it is so cute i bought it!

  • HOLY CRAP THAT KID TURNED INTO A FREAKING ROBOT AWESOME

  • wow games hav been around for wat 20 or so years and its gone from single pixels to high deff with insane physics i wonder whats its gona b like in another 20 years.

  • ive gone deaf, help, what did you say!

  • Games change a lot over the years!

  • I miss the cookie crook and cookie cop

  • @super579 they never made a cookie jail where the cookie crook gets his just deserts. lmfao

  • I had She-Ra and SwiftWind!

  • @rockergirl83 or remember the GEMS . hardcore cartoon for chicks. lol. never watched it, but i remember it.

  • Hang on,our adverts[UK]have class!You can't watch a Smash advert and say ot doesn't have class!!

  • WTF?? Is that really Stephen King?? I don't remember that!

  • Damn, I miss them days. No dot com on any commercials.

  • I WANT THE PAC MAN GAMEE!! O.O

  • @XxANATAGASUKIxX I used to have one. There was no volume control for the sounds (which were awful).

  • @Jeff98177

really! XD haha! how loud was it?? =o

and how much did it cost?? =P

  • @XxANATAGASUKIxX I think it was around $30. And it was loud enough believe me. I had to put tape over the speaker to quiet it down. LOL

  • the 80's: the last decade when television ruled the world.

  • Check out how young Stephen King is.

  • These made me do a bit of sick in my mouth.

  • I miss my She-ra doll LOL!!!!!

  • Most kids today, all they do is sit inside the house play video games and gain weight. I miss the 80's! Great times without having to worry or living your life inside. I'm proud to say that I'm a child of the 80's.

  • @Idoljunky32 Agree. However, It was in the late 80s I started to noticed parents becoming overprotective of their kids. The 90s sucked.

In the 70s, kids were pretty much on their own, which meant lots of freedom.

The first half of the 80s was awesome. The late 80s were pretty good.

  • @Idoljunky32 Agreed. The cartoons were the best. I remember waking up on Sat morning at 6:00am to watch cartoons. I would then play outside the rest of the day.

  • @Idoljunky32 me and you both I miss the 80s too

  • @Idoljunky32 Too bad commerical internet access wasn't around back then.

  • Growing up in the late 70's thru the 80's were such great memories. You got up at 7am, watched Saturday morning cartoon while eating Cookie Crisp or Captain Crunch, then at around 10am you went outside and actually played and interacted with your friends. You'd play baseball, football or kickball, helped your dad build a clubhouse for you and your friends. You used your imagination outside!

  • LOL, those table top arcade games were a joke. Notice how they didnt show how any of them actually play in the commercial. I fell for the Donkey Kong one. They were just flashing pre-lit ights that moved through preset screens. Never got that Simon game either. Just seemed like a stress maker to me. Anybody remember the late 70;s Die-cast Shogun warriors that were BEFORE the Transformers?

  • @SouthOCmixdown I remember those Shogun Warriors. There were small metal ones and bigger plastic models about 18 inches tall.

  • @spraymalathionjerry -&they were KICKASS!! lol The heavy- diecast1s had spring-loaded fisted forearms that shot off like a foot&a half! Great4knocking out eyes/teeth! LOL!.&they were indestructable! U cud drop them off a 3-story house on2 concrete/Dad run over them w/his car/leave them in the pool/puddles4DAYS!.other than scraping up the paint/losing the decals, THEY COULDNT BE BROKEN! Tall plastic1s sound kul2! Shoguns were around since 77 or so. Trans4mers/Voltron TOTALLY copied that design.

  • I want the type of microphones they used to get that sound quality. Does anyone know?

  • The cereals from the 80's taste so much better than the new millenium versions. Darn I miss the 80's!!!

  • The audio for the Dino Pebbles commercial is awful.

  • @ThePirateprincess23 I know. That's just how I found it.

  • @disneyfan85 Just use any audio editor to "Normalize" it

  • omg the sound is terrible.

  • The stereo (sound) is appaling on this film. Get this restored and remastered to a higher standard please. Its wonderful to watch these great 1980s commercials though. Particularly the video game ones and Kitt with The Hoff!

  • 2:47 Play advanced games LOL. I miss the 80's....

  • shit quality

  • Hey don't hassle the hoff!!!!

  • awesome

  • emo simon says cut your wrists

  • LOL.

  • Good stuff! Thanks for posting this=) I had that Shera doll! As advanced as things are now,Id love to wake up on Saturday morning, watch all the old cartoons, get my toy from the Frankenberry box,and have a Clarks sub sandwich for lunch with mom and dad...what a great time!

  • i still have that simon says thing :D.

  • so do i

  • Thank you so much for putting these together, I remember most of these :) I wanted that robot! And the bugs bunny one was the best!

  • Growing up during the 80's was great. It meant waking up early Saturday mornings meant cartoons until the afternoon. It was going to video rental stores like The Wherehouse and renting a movie and watching it as a family. I miss those times. I guess you're old when you start to reminisce about things.

  • @zandro1203 I dunno, it sounds like a good life to me, and im 15. I'd like to have grown up in the 80s :)

  • all the people that grew up in the 80s.would say what you are just saying, also remember the middle break during the cartoons.i used to wake up at 6 am .watched t.v for hours.until 12 or 1 pm thn youd go outside meet the buddies.the 80s a unique time in our lives

  • @bengativo6 Exactly!! That is how I remember it!! Like it was a ritual for kids and our parents didnt have to worry about us.

  • @ciceryo totally right my man! if you take a little look back in the 90s and later decades, even tough kids born from 1990 to 1999,parents had to be worried at all times, all was lost once we got in the 90's.

  • @bengativo6 unfortunately those moments will never come back. they were great, i'll tell you that. the 90's were not as bad. def not like the 80's though.

  • @zandro1203 on the 80s all of your buddies growing up would share the same things.there is not a friend of mine of the same age.that doesnt tell you he never woke up at 6 am on a saturday had a middle breakfast break.eating some snacks.all the persons i know from that time .lived the same magic of the 80s

  • @zandro1203 and if you take a look from the 90s and 2000s there is no magic at all like the 80s used to have.all was lost but still lives in our mids .i want my kids to be slackers on a saturday mourning not the whole life lol

  • Pitfall!!!

  • @zandro1203 Growing up in the 70s as kid then as teenager in the 80s was better.

Video rentals. In my day, we had $ 1.00 movies, 50 cent sodas and popcorn, and Drive Inn Theatres. The first half of the 80s was awesome, though.

  • @zandro1203 as far as getting old, i guess i am with you on that. i also grew up in the 80s and remember these commercials as if it was yesterday. i used to wake up early in the mornings on saturday and started watching morning cartoons at 7am until they were done around noon or 1pm. now a days, the stuff they play on tv is pure crap. these were the good old days

  • @zandro1203 nah. you're perfect if you 'reminisce'

  • the 80s were a good time to be alive in i grew up as a kid then i am 30 so alot of these commercials bring back alot of memories

  • i hate the atari my dad has his and he got it out and i just hate it

  • sorry for not being able to use a joystick

and getting sick of losing to my parents

  • @IBORG3of7 you shouldn't even be posting here. you hate it now, but if you were alive back then you would have loved it. this is for adults, which you are not

  • Those Ads brought back a lot of memories. I'm British, but a lot of the ads and products are the same as in the UK.

  • Dino Pebbles cereal was the biggest cereal flop ever. Why? Dino Pebbles sound like something Fred would pick up off his lawn than something you would want to eat

  • "keep those pot handles toined in." i'm 34 now and remember this like it was yesterday!

  • I wonder where those 50 robots are.

  • I had one of those crappy comidor vic 20 computers it was like the atari comnputer attch it to the tv and nothing happened

  • Wow, you must have been one stupid kid!

  • whatever happened to stephen king?

  • Steven King is scary. He looks like an axe murderer.

  • this is one he was a cocaine junkie

  • they don't make bonkers and more and the characters form cookie crisp are changed too

  • pitfall wow!! i remember my dad bying the cartridge at k marts !! waz that 1983!

  • *sniff* I miss Mel Blanc there will never be another voice actor like him ever.

  • I had the qubert tabletop, my sister had donkey kong, my brother popeye. That was the best Christmas ever!!!! I took mine to school, I was the hit of the lunchroom.. I love the 80's!!!!!!!!

  • A World Beyond your wildest Dreams!!!....Atari....

  • omg! bonkers!!!holyshit!

  • I remember all these commercials. I miss my childhood. It was a good time in my life. Now I'm older, life sucks!

  • atari was ahead of its time, how did it just disappear

  • wow i remember simon

  • with simon who needed guitar hero?

  • Yeah, and I think Simon was more intellectually stimulating than Guitar Hero.

  • LOL.... many hours of fun with Simon!! And talk about brilliant marketing with those coleco table top games. They never show what they look like in the commercial. Even when I was 11 they were pretty awful!.

  • it's like watching saturday morning cartoons without the cartoons...lol!Thanks for the time travel! :D

  • Man, we sure ate a lot of sugaryf cereals in the 80's! Ah, the good old days - before we knew all the dangers of high fructose corn syrup, etc.

  • I loved the Atari. I was a teen in the 80's and I rolled Space Invaders over. Wish I could do that again.. but I don't have time to play games.. and I don't have the fast button pushing fingers anymore.. Dad Gum Age Coming up on me!!! UGGGGHHHH .. yeah.. I am OLD!!!
