@HehnehFTW Yeah. I find people are rarely on the fence about it. They either like it a lot or dislike it. A bit like Monty Python - people seem to love them or hate them. Have you seen the new DW series at?
@Spyguy79XD It's called "3DVCE". It should be the first hit on a google search for that term. If not, check under "projects" at stellaralchemy (dot com)
@mattkaythetimelord The video (well, really just a series of .png snapshot images that need to be converted to a video later) is saved in the "bin" folder. You should find them all in there. Their file names are numbered to keep the order clear. If that gives you trouble, let me know - I'll try to help.
Somehow, it didn't seem quite as "epic" as I had expected, but that's just a minor complaint. I enjoyed it a lot! Having The Master save The Doctor and at the same time discover and punish the person responsible for his mental derangement - I thoroughly enjoyed that bit. Having watched pretty much all of the classic series, I absolutely love The Master, and I really like the idea that there's some hope for him yet. I hope he comes back, and soon.
So, after watching your tutorials and a few other viedos I have to say: awesome!
I just imagine a program where nero (a neurologic selflerning AI Program you may know, otherwise google for nero 2.0), euphria (mainly the self preservation part of the engine) and your engine work together to actually create inelligent, selfaware and unique creatures, and then let them fight each other in an evolutionary way. Create a world!
I apologize for the slow reply. When the program first starts there should be an option letting you choose whether or not you want full screen. It should be in that window with the "OGRE" logo.
it would be cool if u could actually like "build" the creature, instead of it getting tis bdoy parts on at "random". the building would be like the building if uve ever used google sketch up. if u get wat i mean.
Some sort of creature builder or editor would be great. I often think about a feature like that. It would take about as much work as the main program itself - but still, it would be interesting to see differences between designed and evolved creatures. Also - sometimes it would be nice to tweak certain evolved creatures.
I considered it a bit of practice - part of the learning process so I would figure out how to use the physics and graphics engines. I may have gone a *little* beyond just that. Just a little ;)
You're right. The website went down a few days ago. Not sure why. Should be back very soon (I hope!). If you're interested in the software, you could message me through youtube if you like (or just wait, the site should come back up within the next couple days).
The "About This Video" section, above, has a link to the main project page, which explains more. As the video title indicates, the TARDIS (beloved though it is! :D) and the green-screen are just bells and whistles on the main gist of the program, which is the simulated evolution of virtual creatures.
I was originally going to include that, but when I saw how it looked without it I actually found I preferred it this way. It's not true to the series, but I find it aesthetically more pleasing for some reason.
how do i run it in a window?

Can you create own creatures? Not random?

Unfortunately, no, but it's a feature that many people have suggested that I add one day.

Once you said about the TARDIS, I noticed how much awesome this is now XD

Ha :D What can I say? I had to build one. It's the best vehicle in all of science fiction

@kjlg74 I almost cried when David last said "I don't want to go"

It's such a shame that yet another of the 12 regenerations has been used up :( David was an excellent Doctor, the Tom Baker of the new series :)

the tardis is awesome, but one feature I feel would make this program more assessable to me is a windowed mode

DUDE, I got this JUST for the TARDIS man, im just trying this out, but I have one question, can I make a companion creature that can go inside of it?
00Kirby0 3 years ago
lol! Unfortunately, I made no way to allow creatures into the TARDIS :(
Of course, if I were going to construct a companion in the program, I'd make it look more like Freema than any of the creatures ;) :D
