yeah, it was an F. the live version was an E, and it sounded effortless to me. i don't think she's losing her upper register...type in "kelly clarkson high notes from 2W2V tour"...she can still belt powerful F#s and Gs. she hasn't hit any G#s or As in a while, but she probably can on a good day. her F#s are smooth as butter and have a very fluid vibrato, which she wouldn't be able to sustain if she was straining a lot.

i barely notice a difference in key.. she sounds amazing! and keep in mind that this is one of - if not the - first time she's done this song live.. and if you've seen any of her first performances of because of you early on they got much stronger with each performance.

As an artist you have to take care of your voice? Would you rather hear Kelly do it in a higher key and lose her voice along the a way? Did you take into consideration that she is doing a lot of promo, first over in Europe, and then back in the States. This means a lot of interviews and a lot of performances. She is just taking care of her voice to ensure that it endures the many weeks of promo, which is just smart.

Apart from All I Ever Wanted. I heard that over the phone and it was in the same key. It's strange, it's not as if she can't sing them in the original key, especially considering the fact that she raised the key for Because of You last week. She still sounds awesome, and I guess it's the sensible thing to do, but it just takes something away from the song. ESPECIALLY Hook Up, which now sounds like Katy Perry's version. She was just on Radio 1 Live Lounge sounding great though. UK no 1 this week!

WTF?!!? She is NOT singing in a lower key!! Not by a long shot!! She is BELTING and singing her HEART OUT!!! It's always different hearing a ballad live than the actual recording!! The only difference is the pace.. The music isn't the same as it is on the CD because it's live and not recorded!!! NOT A LOWER KEY!!! As always Kelly Clarkson is AMAZING!!!

She sounds amazing. I love her voice. Probably the best singer of her generation, but you're wrong. This is a half step lower in key than the original key.

Maybe she is singing it in a lower key so she wouldn't loose her voice again like 2007.

Apart from All I Ever Wanted. I heard that over the phone and it was in the same key. It's strange, it's not as if she can't sing them in the original key, especially considering the fact that she raised the key for Because of You last week. She still sounds awesome, and I guess it's the sensible thing to do, but it just takes something away from the song. ESPECIALLY Hook Up, which now sounds like Katy Perry's version. She was just on Radio 1 Live Lounge sounding great though. UK no 1 this week!

Yeah I totally agree with you, I don't blame her for doing it at all..... it would be nice to one day hear them live in the original key though. Nobody can sing these types of songs as well as her and it would be pretty damn immense.... but yeah I see what you're saying and agree.
