You tube is going to get a backlash if people want to watch a hunting video and the money shot is missing. I think viewers can handle the small amount of violence it takes to down an animal.
Shaun is correct. The policy is not congruent from case to case. You Tube corporate should be more consistant.
You are right, food you get at a store had to be killed too. It's relay stupid the way people try to hide the fact any animals we eat for food are slaughtered in a plant or by hunting. I'd rather have the latter. I think(like you) everyone that uses foul language should be censored, they should the age appropriate disclaimer that some of the videos have Youtube. We have more then enough foul mouth people in this world.
@10TheGunsofBrixt Agreed. There is a serious amount of questionable content out there on the tubes, a lot more worth of restriction than anything Casey puts up. Thanks for the kind words!
Not to mention there are tons of animal documentaries on youtube where you see lions eat the shit out of baby antelopes... it's much more graphic and shocking than shooting a deer.
I'm not personally a fan of censorship, however I do recognize that Youtube is a private company, and they should be able to do what they want on their site, as long as they dont initiate force on other people/companies property.
Also, let me play the devils advocate and argue that the act of saying "offensive" words is not exactly the same as murdering a living animal.
@SonOfTanit let me pose this question to you, do you have any children under the age of 13? Would you seriously rather they watched a youtuber talking about acts involving the C*$% and F$#@ words, or one of Casey’s hunting videos, which invoke and describe respect for what they are doing and pride in hard work and accomplishment?
You cannot hide the real world from children, the best thing you can do is to guide them towards what you find "morally true". Children will hear "bad words" and see bad things no matter how protective you are, but if you nurture their natural curiosity in a healthy way, and explain things to them, you will find that they will be atracted to healthy themes and not actively seek unhealthy things.
@SonOfTanit All "private" business as you put it are subject to fairness by their consumers. And any judgement anyone makes IS a moral one. might we be a vegetarian?
I agree! Casey's video was hardly graphic at all. So many other youtubers (Shane Dawson, KassemG, etc.) post much more objectionable things far more often, and to a bigger audience as well. If Casey's videos gets age-restricted, then theirs should too.
@awanaismylife thanks:) I love loads of guys like Kassem for sure, but the stipulation that YouTube has made in this case between one and the other is WAY off I feel. I'm really pumped Casey got to see this! :D
@airmatt86 yet you felt the need to comment and give attention to such a waste? What does that say about you? Goodbye Mr. Troll.

@Wotanraven Exactly ... I'll have to do a search for all of those videos and see what ratings, if any, they have on them. Thanks for the feedback! :)

@SonOfTanit well put, I agree. So you will agree that seeing an animal killed is no worse than such things said?
theoriginalshaun 1 month ago
@theoriginalshaun
I would say that in our modern world, it could even be considered a healthy thing to teach children where their food comes from ;)
But Youtube is a private business, and they are in their right to run their company as they see fit.
I am not making a moral judgement here, and even if you consider 'hunting' the pinnacle of "good" and profanity the ultimate "evil",
the fact still remains, that the act of killing an animal ≠ spoken words.
