And chimps can't mimic what people do?! Then how the FUCK do you teach it to sit on a chair and cross its legs. Fucking narrow minded, arrogant asshole.
How dare he say it's not art! Ill tell you what, do any research on congo, and you will find he got angry when you would take a painting, and when he was 'finished,' he would refuse to paint. Objective. Also, when a color was painted, he would choose to paint with the same color. Influence. And finially, when he was given a line, he would paint it symmetrically . Art is the creative mind at work. You tell me now that congo wasn't an artist. Fuckin narrow minded, arrogant asshole.
LA is the wrong city to look for sophisticated art appreciation people. As you can see from the gallery itself, the people like the building are crude. The place to show those paintings to people who know something about art would have been New York City. I love LA but it's not a sophisticated town for paintings.
I LOVE that section where they show the painting by Congo to that pretentious snobby art critic. The fact that she hadn't a single clue that it wasn't even done by a human, yet was willing to praise its "deliberate painterly movement" and value it at half a million dollars tells you a shitload about how stupid, phony and self-absorbed the modern art world is.
Next time a parent yells at their child to stop wasting time watching tv, that child should ask his or her parent if they know what separates us from other animals. National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, BBC, Channel 4, History Channel, Biography, TLC and may more channels teach us much more cool things than we could have ever learned in dull school. Show like this turned me on to education-the school pushed me away from it.
I grew up on that stuff, and I owe those educational programs and their makers so much. In the future, I want to continue that tradition of educational and entertaining programming by making my own documentaries.
