  • is this before planting or after? is it in between the corn rows from last year or on them?... we do strip tillage and would mlike to side dress with this unit would it work on the corn stublles from the year before?

  • @npk007 this is before planting, between the rows. It cut through the crowns fine late May-June sidedressing. It would have trouble sealing when we hit them in April though. Cutting through wasn't the problem, closing was. if you have rtk it probably would be easy to miss the old rows though.

  • We are waiting on ours to be set up. We should have it in a few days. Have you heard how they run in the tight, black, gummy soils?

  • Interested in buying one of these, how do you like it? Do you think an 8000 series MFWD could sidedress with this tool?

  • We rented an 8530 to sidedress with. We've only hooked it up so far and will try it out later this week if we don't get much rain. I hope to have a vid of it. Hope it works as advertised. Unhooking the T-Hitch wasn't too complicated. It is heavy, even for the 8530. But we don't have duals on the front so that might be a problem.

  • If you don't mind i would appreciate it if you would let me know how it works out.

  • Other than that it worked like a dream so far. We went over the 420 acres we had left in 2 days. This is the perfect machine for a no-till setup. A planter leaves more of a mark than this machine. Doesn't plug in heavy residue, only thing to make sure of is to keep the boots tight to the disk in wet conditions.
