Roger Waters was the one with awesome ideas and David Gilmour was the one that put music to those awesome ideas for example Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall. And the solo of comfortably numb is the best of all time and David Gilmour is the only one who can play it
I GOT TICKETS FOR JULY 14TH IN PHILADELPHIA, I SAW HIM IN NOVEMBER 2010 IN PHILADELPHIA, IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING CONCERT EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE, UNREAL.
This is as good as it gets. By far, the best concert of my life. I saw it in Philadelphia indoors in 2010, and i already have tickets to see it outdoors at citizens bank park for the tour finally in July of 2012. @tff1293 MET TOO, I SAW HIM IN NOVEMBER 2010 INDOORS @ WELLS FARGO CENTER, AND NOW I GOT TICKETS FOR JULY 14TH OUTDOORS @ CITIZENS BANK PARK, I CANNOT F'N WAIT, MOST AMAZING CONCERT EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. AND WE GET TO SEE THE FINAL SHOW OF THE TOUR, IT IS GONNA BE SPECIAL, I KNOW IT.
Roger Waters is one of the Worlds Great Humanitarian Geniuses, who is now touring the World with this amazing "Wake-Up!" call for Everyone to understand what is "Stealthily" being orchestrated all over the World by a group of absolute Psychotic Parasitic individuals! but; I wonder, just how many millions of his fans actually understand what "The Wall" is truly all about? Everyone should look at: wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com and understand WHO the Parasites are who are building these WALLS!
@23hotfuzz well, they're recording all of the shows professionally, so its likely theres gonna be a dvd. But if you look up "comfortably numb roger waters" theres a video videotaped professionally and it would look something like that if you're intrested
@gilmourguitar123 i read an article about him once, and it said that when he picked up guitar, he could never play fast. so he gave up on technique, and practiced on tone. and wow, did he get it. the first solo in this song and the solo in "mother" . those are my 2 favorites. people can copy his solos, but his tone is untouchable. mastered to perfection.
@gilmourguitar123 Obviously the song Comfortably Numb would not have been the showpieve it is without Gilmour's solo. I honestly don't think it would have affected the popularity of the album as The Wall is not about individual songs so much as it is a singular piece. It is a rock opera which, as a whole, is far bigger than its constituent parts. If any song could be credited with putting The Wall on the map in terms of sales, that would be ABITW Part II.
@gilmourguitar123 nope thats played correctly, i play guitar myself, this being one of my favorite solos of all time, and its all right. it is a rather larger bend then usual, bends usually go up 2 half tones, that one is a 3 half tone bend, going from the 12 fret to the 15th, he might miss it sometimes, or not get the true tone of it, maybe a little flat, but it is relatively correct
I experienced the concert in Copenhagen This was one of the most precious moments of the concert.
The girl that sees her father - imagine how she must have missed him, fearing that he would get killed. All those feelings are let out in this moment.
Immediately after that Roger throws it back into our faces: That not only are we sending soldiers away from their families (children) to war, but these soldiers are also destroying the lives of other children.
I was in Mannheim and the Part of that little Girl recognise her Daddy is comming home was the precious Moment of the Gig!Thank You Roger , love You!!!
@TED1082 I was in Mannheim too. And to those people, who are writing, that they almost cried... I can admit that I was crying, it's not a shame. With my 24 years, I can say: it's worth to live.
great video,,emotional is to lesser word to describe this gig,,have been twice and am going again in june,,check my vids out,,i actually met the man,,i have a page on face book made by the fans for the fans,,search roger waters fans
Last Saturday, I thought I might like to go to the show (in Antwerp). This combo was definitely the best part of it... it took my breath away. Thank you Roger, thank you other musicians, thank you Pink Floyd!
I find it kinda sad, that it's been 0ver thirty years since The Wall came out and some people didn't get the message. This shows how timeless this album is. I saw, or rather experienced it in London the other day, and after these three songs I felt like smacked in the head with something really heavy. When I saw pictures of children on Bring the...I felt tears coming to my eyes.Epic gig. Too bad that for some it was just two hours of good music. Peace. And don't let the worms eat into Your brain
Not bad at all for a man nearing his 70's. I can't believe I missed this tour, which was probably my last chance to ever truly experience Pink Floyd live.
Why cant poeple shut up about Gilmour? This is Roger's album. He wrote all of the lyrics, 90% of the music, came up with the ideas and concepts and designed the stage show. Gilmour is a great guitar player in a world full of great guitar players - Waters is a fucking genius and the skills necessary to create a masterpiece like The Wall are unique.
@xfilian1 well in my opinion you are right, he's a genius and all that but, people is asking for gilmour cause we want pink floyd not roger waters, im 14 year old, im happy that im going to see roger waters next gear in chile but i would love to see see roger + david, or the entire pink floyd
@onimusha514 Funnily enough, I saw four of the Wall concerts in the UK. One of them was the concert at which Gilmour appeared. Of course it was very, very special to see David and Roger (and Nick, of course) up on stage again. I will never forget it. However, this concert does not need Gilmour - Kilminster does an amazing job of the solo - better IMO than Gilmour did when he appeared on that particular occasion. You will be blown away by this gig and will not be thinking about Mr Gilmour.
@xfilian1 Uhhh dude. Why can people shut up about Gilmour being "just a guitarist" he's not. He's a musical genius. Without him the song your currently listening to would be nothing. Before Gilmour stepped in Comfortably Numb was only about 2 minutes. (According to Waters, Mason, Wright, and Gilmour). Besides the fact that he's a gifter guitarist and writer he also has the voice of an angel. So. I summation. Sure The Wall is Water's album. But without Gilmour it would never have worked.
@elocrellim Gilmour contributed to three songs out of 26 so saying the album would not have worked without Gilmour is nonsense. Afters Waters had conceived the piece, his main partner in putting the album togther was Bob Ezrin. Dave contributed the chord sequence to Comfortably Numb which is great but it does not prop the whole album up. Gilmour cannot write on his own - hence the reason he had to draft in a load collaborators to help him after Roger left. Great guitarist yes - great writer no
@xfilian1 you¨re a person like me,i say to all ROGER WATERS IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD but they say DONT FORGOT TO MENCION GILMOUR but waters created the wall,no gilmour,is waters to dead,i love your coment...
@JATO457 I respectfully disagree. If you listen to The Wall for the comfortably numb solo, you're completely missing the point. If all of Gilmour's solos were taken out, It would still be one of the most impressive pieces of music ever written. That being said, Gilmour's solos are as good as it gets, and he will always be the greatest guitarist in my book.
@xfilian1 Thank you for saying what needed to be said. I saw in philly in '10, and already have tickets to see him outdoors in philly in '12, and it was the best show of my life. The only thing that was missing because of Gilmour's absence was a name. Don't get me wrong, Gilmour has written some of the greatest guitar solos in music history, and is one of the greatest musicians around, but this is Roger's masterpiece, and it can stand alone without gilmour. It's an unbelievable piece of music
Oh my the guitar solos!! After all these years I still get the same feeling the first time I heard them. They take me toa place in my head that no one can touch!!! Thank you for showing me this show-great video!!
I traveled from Romania in Prague to see this show, with tickets for two concerts (in 15 and 16 april) and i`m very, very desappointed... betcause i will never have chance to repet this expirience.
Nobody, never will not make a show so spectacular, so dramatic.
I love the way how David Gilmour sing, him it`s my favorite, but a show like "The Wall" she can by made just by Roger Waters
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i LOVE pink floyd. i'm probably the BIGGEST pink floyd fan out there....this is NOT pink floyd, however. this was a boring political rally and the music had no soul. the musicians looked liked they were just there doing their job. and on top of that, roger waters is full of sh*t....he should just shut up and play the bass.
@progfreak425 if you love pink floyd, then why are you hating on Roger? the man is almost 70 years old and is playing amazing shows... the only difference between him and the rest of Pink Floyd is that Roger is still out there, preforming. The band he tours with is brilliant too, now shut the fuck up, because the wall is one of the best albums ever, and the concert was the best i've ever seen
and don't claim to be the BIGGEST pink floyd fan, you're just as bad as a 9 year old Justin Bieber fan
@progfreak425 You claim to be the biggest Pink Floyd fan out there, yet it is quite clear from your post that you have absolutely no idea what makes Floyd special. How can you describe the most visually stunning concert the world has ever seen, with people crying in the audience it was so moving as 'boring' and 'having no soul?' If you think that Roger is full of shit, best you stop litening to Pink Floyd all together, I think you would be better suited to Britney Spears CD.
@progfreak425 Nobhead! if your a Pink Floyd fan i'll eat me fuckin hat, have you even been to see this gig live?, I doubt it, if you were a Pink Floyd fan you'd understand why Roger put this gig on, for the the fans, so go and fuck yourself you prick.
The gig in Zagreb was the greatest show I've ever seen.
Thanks Roger, thank you all other musicians, kids of the choir, thank you technicians, roadies, merch-sellers, barmen & - women, thank you to everyone who was there - it were awesome 2 and a half hours.
@Kardmeister, I cried twice when I saw the show in Chicago. (not the night from the video) The feeling of joy within me while watching the show was tremendous! :)
i did cry for the girl, it was a great scene of the utmost joy that i have witnessed in a long while, but i also cried for the children and families of those who will never get to have that experience of homecomming, other than a casket draped with an american flag. those my friends are the ones whose crying shall last a lifetime.Never forget them and their sacrifice.
@maranzio Hello Maranzio, I was wondering where that piece of film was coming from...every time i see it ...well...salt water wells in my eyes!!!!!!!!!!
@recoba200001 CONORDO PIENAMENTE , IL CONCERTO PIU' BELLO DELLA MIA VITA...E NESSUN SERVIZIO , MA PER vasco TITOLONI! E PER IL CONCERTO DELLO ZIO DAVE QUANTI ARTICOLI...ZERO!
can't wait for my tickets for Manchester concert. And I badly regret that my daughter is too young to go with us, she might never have a chance to experience one of the best albums in the history of music.
Bring the boys back home..., que filosofia. Unico. Impresionante noche.
0:16 a 0:40 me levou sinceramente as lagrimas. Congratullations from Brazil!
Nothing I've ever experienced in my life has ever topped the amazement I felt when I went to this concert and saw 8:46...I wish people could realize what they were missing out on by listening to shitty music.
@LeutholdJR You're in for a major treat. But if you haven't already, don't watch all the youtube vids even though its tempting. I had the temptation too but I'm glad I didn't, it kinda ruins the concert in my opinion.
got tickets to go see this in dublin in may and i cant fucking wait to go see it. so what if gilmour isnt there. its the fucking wall, what more could anyone ask for
SAW THE SHOW IN BUFFALO USA !!! THE BEST SHOW OF MY 50 YEAR OLD LIFE WELL OVER 200 CONCERTS
do you belive the crap these shallow air gutair playing infents are saying? they wernt there!! or are mindless idiots............................!!!!
@johnartmaster hahaha i'm 21 years old, and i can honestly say..it is and always WILL BE the best concert/show i will EVER go to in my life, unless in some time Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Mason all get together and do a reunion tour...which i'm PRAYING for xD
@noveltyskateboards I am also 21 and have an unhealthy obsession with The Floyd lol. This concert changed my life as well as his Dark Side tour. Wouldn't of missed it for the world.
@burlesonbreeze Okay...you can't deny that the guy with the Telecaster is completely tearing it up. No, he's not David Gilmour. But he's pretty awesome. Lady Gaga really isn't the garbage that people make her out to be. And this is Roger's vision of what his creation should be. He has a right to make it theatrical, and since he can back it up musically, it's not just theater production. Besides, it has a message. How can you insult that interpretation of "Bring the boys Back Home?"
@nikovolta haha, The Wall was made by Waters, Gilmour had a small part in some songs of The Wall album...
the whole album is about his father. and Roger's feelings, since his father died in ww2. and Roger had to live without is father in his childhood... and kids made fun of him because of that he lost his father... ect
i know the whole story, but don't wanna write it down here, but read the history of Pink Floyd, there it says waters made almost every lyics and notes for every song.
@nikovolta and special this album gilmour just helpet with some notes for some few song. so the music ain't written by Gilmour.
and since u know so much, did u know that Gilmour played the bass guitar in "hey you" and 'Roger play Gilmour's guitar?
btw i don't hate Gilmour, i like Gilmour, and i wish that PF would be Re-united, but i hate when ppl talk shit of Roger, to make more cred for Gilmour...
@thejourneyman123 I agree brother!! Roger is a true genus, A Motzart, A Da Vinci, IMO even more so, as Gimore is a great incredible legend of a guitarist, however his writing ability there's no comparison here, the people that haven't figured Roger out yet are just not as deep as you and I. Roger will go down in the pages of history .................no doubt.
@TNFlightNurse That's Funny,at 46 years old I thought I was going to cry too throughout the whole show...It went to the Philly show on 11/11/2010 with my 12 year old son and we enjoyed every minute and every second of the show...He was probably one of the youngest members of the audience that night, but enjoyed it just as much as those of us who grew up with the band....One totally awesome experience!!!!
@PierotteLeFou haahahhaahahahah i went to barcelona to see this GREAT SHOW with 2 friends and we all cried, believe me its true, this part makes cry everyone with a little sense of music, i thank you, i wanted to find someone who REALLY cried in this moment.... save the music please!!!
wow, I know this was one of the first shows of the tour, but didn't expect to see that there's no twirling effect during comfortably numb as in the show I attended (Houston)

The gig in Zagreb was the greatest show I've ever seen.
Thanks Roger, thank you all other musicians, kids of the choir, thank you technicians, roadies, merch-sellers, barmen & - women, thank you to everyone who was there - it were awesome 2 and a half hours.

i did cry for the girl, it was a great scene of the utmost joy that i have witnessed in a long while, but i also cried for the children and families of those who will never get to have that experience of homecomming, other than a casket draped with an american flag. those my friends are the ones whose crying shall last a lifetime.Never forget them and their sacrifice.

0:16 a 0:40 me levou sinceramente as lagrimas. Congratullations from Brazil!

Having seen many Floyd tribute bands, some being quite good, I've come to one conclusion, only Roger Waters can sing a Roger Waters song.
His voice is unmatchable.

yawn..... saw it in Dallas! Give me David Gilmour solo any day!!! This is just theatre production GaGa Madanna shit!
burlesonbreeze 1 year ago
@burlesonbreeze Okay...you can't deny that the guy with the Telecaster is completely tearing it up. No, he's not David Gilmour. But he's pretty awesome. Lady Gaga really isn't the garbage that people make her out to be. And this is Roger's vision of what his creation should be. He has a right to make it theatrical, and since he can back it up musically, it's not just theater production. Besides, it has a message. How can you insult that interpretation of "Bring the boys Back Home?"
thewriter1008 1 year ago
Music written by Gilmour
nikovolta 1 year ago
@nikovolta haha, The Wall was made by Waters, Gilmour had a small part in some songs of The Wall album...
the whole album is about his father. and Roger's feelings, since his father died in ww2. and Roger had to live without is father in his childhood... and kids made fun of him because of that he lost his father... ect
i know the whole story, but don't wanna write it down here, but read the history of Pink Floyd, there it says waters made almost every lyics and notes for every song.
thejourneyman123 1 year ago
@nikovolta and special this album gilmour just helpet with some notes for some few song. so the music ain't written by Gilmour.
and since u know so much, did u know that Gilmour played the bass guitar in "hey you" and 'Roger play Gilmour's guitar?
btw i don't hate Gilmour, i like Gilmour, and i wish that PF would be Re-united, but i hate when ppl talk shit of Roger, to make more cred for Gilmour...
thejourneyman123 1 year ago
@thejourneyman123 I agree brother!! Roger is a true genus, A Motzart, A Da Vinci, IMO even more so, as Gimore is a great incredible legend of a guitarist, however his writing ability there's no comparison here, the people that haven't figured Roger out yet are just not as deep as you and I. Roger will go down in the pages of history .................no doubt.
