I am a pilot myself, and even watching this video gives me a thrill I'd like to experience in real life one day. Unfortunately, I only fly heavy aircrafts (the 747 right now), so I won't be landing at Madeira unless they make changes to that airport!
This airport does not offer more danger tham other airports. There has only one accident in the history of this airport in 1977, but nowadays it's much bigger. Is 1600 meters on 1964 agains almost 2800 meters today,
