Taiwanese People lived near at those Nuclear Power Plants R at HIGHER RISK than those Taiwanese People living by Nuclear Waste Processing & Storage Facilities because those POWER PLANT PEOPLE have to worry about MELTDOWN SCENARIOS while STORAGE PEOPLE have to worry ONLY about LEAKAGE into SOIL and GROUDWATER!! =/

BTW, Coal-Fired Power Plants emit far more RADIATION into AIR than any of our current 3 Nuclear Power Plants because COAL contain even more Radioactive Materials!! {roll my eyes}

So they're taking the waste from Lanyu? I guess that really means the end of the Yami tribe then, since it was their only real source of income. As a "ethnic preserve", tourism is severely limited and as a very rocky island there isn't enough arable land to grow enough produce to support the population. Already the "working" generation is leaving the island for mainland Taiwan in order to make a living, this will just seal the deal. Last time I was there, the middle-aged were scared for the ftr.
