As a school teacher, I don't ever recall reading/citing the words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" and seeing the word, "except". Separate but equal does not, has not and should not work. Some can still adopt without marriage I believe, it just makes it harder (easier to adopt as single than as a couple though, oddly). Its more common now to have children through surrogacy though (one of the parents is a biological parent), though these laws make it hard or impossible to get protections for the other parent to / for the child (legally, one parent is just a stranger).

If i'm the lawyer to defend prop 8. I will use the infringement of human rights from GLBT forcing everybody to change and accept the word Marriage has homosexual element. The term marriage is only describing man and woman. Not any type of homosexual. Prop 8 does not violate the constitution. Prop 8 is unconstitutional ONLY when the condition is a hierarchy term to describe heterosexual and homosexual couples. However if the term marriage is a SUBSET of domestic partnership, it is constitutional. No law should treat any subset of the domestic partnership unequally with segregation.

This to me is a non-issue. If you don't agree with marriage equality, don't marry someone of the same sex! As a school teacher, I don't ever recall reading/citing the words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" and seeing the word, "except". Separate but equal does not, has not and should not work. We can not "eenie meenie miney moe" through our neighborhoods and point to who is allowed marriage or not. As a christian and American, I am for equality, love, and acceptance to all human life :)

Some can still adopt without marriage I believe, it just makes it harder (easier to adopt as single than as a couple though, oddly). Its more common now to have children through surrogacy though (one of the parents is a biological parent), though these laws make it hard or impossible to get protections for the other parent to / for the child (legally, one parent is just a stranger).

Don't tell me that gays can reproduce. Two men or two woman CANNOT PRODUCE kids. It takes at least 1 man and 1 woman. Society needs new generations of kids, that gays cannot provide for. Wrong to treat people differently under the law? Hello, we don't allow people to drive w/o driver's licenses under the law. We don't allow people to fly airplanes w/o licenses under the law. Men and women must go to separate bathrooms under the law. Of course we can treat people differently under the law as there are many justifications in numerous circumstances for doing so. Prop 8's about denying gays rights. They still have a tremendous amount of rights. It's about protecting rights of those who don't want our children exposed to homosexual indoctrination in classrooms (it will happen), churches being sued because they "discriminate" against gays by not performing gay marriages or employers sued because they oppose homosexuality. Pro-gay rights groups have already proven their willingness to challenge any traditional views they oppose. Prop 8 passed deal with it.

keep in mind, it passed by a MINOR point margin AFTER the 'yes' campaign spent billions of dollars to get their points across(i suspect they were trying to lead the gullible), and not only that but it's up for trial as being unconstitutional. that's what i love about democracy. majority vote USUALLY works, but for the ones that don't, we have the supreme court.

If i'm the lawyer to defend prop 8. I will use the infringement of human rights from GLBT forcing everybody to change and accept the word Marriage has homosexual element. That has already interfered other's understanding. If GLBT wants to be "married" first they must need to accept they can't use that specific term and all compromise to use a neutral term for all homosexual and heterosexual couples in CA and the rest of the Nation in the future.

The term marriage is only describing man and woman. Not any type of homosexual. Prop 8 does not violate the constitution. Prop 8 is unconstitutional ONLY when the condition is a hierarchy term to describe heterosexual and homosexual couples. However if the term marriage is a SUBSET of domestic partnership, it is constitutional. No law should treat any subset of the domestic partnership unequally with segregation.
