  • jointhemodernworld had a lot to say he had a lot of nothing to say we won't miss him....

  • ....never really thought this song was written towards Jesus Christ, so much as it is for his 'followers'.

  • my mind circles around lizards and jesus and together with tool they create a great picture floating through space and many things more...

  • Lol at all the butthurt fanboys replying to me.

  • stfu perrota

  • 5 people didnt get a eulogy

  • Holy shit cracker, i love this

  • I love tool. I just turned 31 and ive seen every band ive ever liked live at least once except tool. Ive missed 4 shows now for various reasons. I was lucky enough to see APC, but to see tool live before I die is my ultimate wish.

  • @Ecrogue I saw the last show of this last tour finally, please make it if you can for the new album tour whenever that may be!

  • GET OFF YOUR FUCKIIING CROSS!

    best part of the song

  • ofc maynard isnt god, god doesnt exist, and there was nothing special about jeebus.. so hes definatly not jeebus either

  • @SoulfulSamurai "keep criminals out of jail"... Imagine if there were hundreds of thousands of criminals on the streets right now and not incarcerated.. Fucking idiot clearly you dont know how to run a country

  • @SoulfilSamurai did u day "keep criminals out of jail?.. Clearly you dont know what ur talkin about when you talk about tunning a country

  • @L0N3W01F21 excuse me but how to you tun a county?

  • @Mroyy12345 lol serves me right for having a typo on 'do' in a comment mocking your spelling skills...

  • When you please videos of good songs disable comments. See comments on this video as to why.

  • Tool amazing. You know what fuck you.

  • Just saw them last night in Reno. BAD ASS! They didn't play Eulogy, but did play 5 songs from Aenima. I highly recommend seeing them, though my ears are still ringing.

  • @raremountainbear u lucky bastard

  • @raremountainbear yeah! 6 days from now in south florida! can't fucking wait

  • 16 days until TOOL hits up Boston...21st row...I'm stoked

  • I love Tool but some fans are honestly irritating. I don't want to hear you spewing anti-religious philosiphical BS in the comments section, Tool are not God, they are not Jesus, they are just a very good rock band and the musicians are top-notch, not some kind of alien lizard demigods from Mars.

  • @perrottafamily1 but unlike the things you mentioned, they are in fact real.

  • @ladicius Comment of the day bro!

  • @perrottafamily1 is that some sort of GWAR reference (last line in ur comment)

  • @jntaylor222 Nope.avi

  • @perrottafamily1 They are just Musical Artists(real ones).

  • @perrottafamily1 demigods, maybe.. lizards, no.. dont you step outta line, dont you fuckin lie

  • @perrottafamily1 wow. Alien lizard demigods from Mars... Ever read the Martian Tales Trilogy by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the guy that wrote Tarzan? LOL...

  • @perrottafamily1 Seems like you should meet the band themselves, or fans who really understand where Tool is going. Sure they're not god, but nor are they enemies of humanity. They're gift givers, and heart breakers, they're hilarious and yet serious. The ones who claim they are gods are just being Tools themselves.

  • @perrottafamily1 I agree dude, people get a little carried away around these parts with that stuff hah.

  • @perrottafamily1 Agree. ;)

  • @perrottafamily1

Why is believing in Jesus more rational?

  • @Peyoutreaux When did I ever say that...?

  • @Peyoutreaux because everyone knows that lizards cant be demigods

  • @perrottafamily1 tool is above average.

  • @perrottafamily1 Pfft. Then I don't know what band you're listening too! Haha.

  • tool is theeee shit!! good band for some street racing videos

  • RIP Bill Hicks

  • at the end i hear to nail the next fool buddy not martyr but thats just my ears i supose...

    youracung

  • Comment removed

  • jump down get off your fucking cross we need this fucking space to nail the next one up

  • Home..

  • Calm down.. get out your fucking cross! ...lol priceless

  • FAV PART OF THIS SONG STARTS @.....5:20!

  • You either get Tool or you don't. Nothing can change that...

  • A TOOL fan to start with. Is this song about Jesus or Cobain?? Please help.

  • @mollyaroura Danny Carey mentioned something about L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. But I think it's deliberately vague to leave it open to interpretation.

  • @mollyaroura Its about the false martyrs throughout history, "they had alot to say, they had alot of nothing to say." Invading countries in the name of God but really its an excuse. At the end "Will you die for me? Dont you fucking lie." Is where hes telling that they won't die for anyone. Only a true martyr would die for you. But that's only a minor out look of this song, I still have yet to figure out the rest.

  • @mollyaroura this song is actually about the late great Bill Hicks, who died in 1994 of Cancer...

  • @13scoob13 I know this sounds vengeful. However I just want the person who said that this song was not about Bill Hicks, while I had just said it was. O_O REALLY?? DA!!

  • @13scoob13 omg you are so wrong....are you retarded? they were inspired by bill hicks this song is definately about either jesus or the hubbard scientology gut

  • @foreverisalie713 enjoy your interpretation, im sure it serves you well.. and to answer your question, no, im not retarded, nor do i feel the need to attack one's intelligence based on my opinion.

  • @foreverisalie713 grammar is crucial when you're questioning someone else's mental state.

  • beautiful

  • just magic.

  • No one will ever discover Tool and the message in their message unless they are truly ready to wake up and experience things in a whole new world. Tool is not a little happy meal that you can go get to satisfy a hunger urge, because happy meals dont last shit your hungry again in two hours but with Tool you get a full course meal from a nice resturant that in return will be an experience that you will never forget and hopefully embrace in your endeavours as a human being like I have and many

  • I just started to listen this band my friend likes it so I thought to check it up on my own time. and I really love it already :)

  • 4 people need to go take a long walk off a short cliff!!!!

  • @81Oakie na i'd say the Grand Canyon!!!

  • WARNING: The social by-product TOOL has been shown in human male subjects to increase testicle size. Recommend seeking bigger pants.

  • if you want political corectness, listen to white house speeches....if you want an adrenelin rush to cure any bullet wound...LISTEN TO TOOL!!!

  • this isnt tool

    ps: obvious troll is obvious

  • GOOSEMOTHERFUCKINBUMPS

  • My favorite TooL song. I remember blasting this on a walkman while snow boarding way back in my middle school days. I have to see them live!!!!

  • @ruckyred seeing them live is life changing man. My dad took me to see them my senior year in High School and it was beyond amazing.

  • @WildLionProductions I believe!!!! I believe!!!

  • To live naturaly, relinquish your self image. And you will encompas divinity.

    -sickness11010-----10:27:2011

  • 6:36 i love that groove danny carey is an animal

  • love ths song

  • This should be Obama's song when he leaves office.

  • @sk8ingrox1 good one man i had high hopes for him but all he does is talk talk talk.its true what they say it dont matter which party is in charge in the US nothing gets done

  • @sudofan I saw through him from the start, but you're right. Politicians never get anything done no matter which party you talk about. I tend to lean towards republican though. At least they know what the Constitution is >.>

  • @sk8ingrox1 and fuck a damn constitution i know what the constitution is and still don't find myself fit to run a country but still know i could do a better job than any lawyer hack thats trying right now

  • @sk8ingrox1 mind you i agree with your screen name though ^_^

  • @SoulfulSamurai Haha well put sir.

  • @SoulfulSamurai Haha well put sir.

  • @sudofan now you know why that is right? because no current politician in america actually has a social agenda anymore for christ sakes they all have lawyer backgrounds so they do what they do best which is sit around argue and get shit done...i feel like they should start trying to keep criminals out of jail and let an actual leader run the country...they'd do better their lying to protect someone

  • @sk8ingrox1 ~.~

  • @sk8ingrox1 This song is a dedication to Bill Hicks. To say that this should be for Obama is really kind of disgusting. ~.~

  • @TheLoopLight I highly doubt this song is for Bill Hicks as the lyrics show this song is quite insulting. Even Danny stated its about L Ron Hubbard. Lets just all enjoy the song and not argue for once?

  • @jjc19461

While it may have been written with specific people in mind, I don't believe it's possible to assume this is about anyone in particular. If it was meant to be about L Ron Hubbard, there would be some sort of identifier within the song to indicate it. Stop trying to specify who it is - look at the arch-type described: the failed martyr, the false prophet. Trying to say "this is about X" limits the song's impact and cripples it with a contemporary stain.

  • @CaptainSkittles no danny carey stated it himself you dumb fuck. are you too high faggy mcfag fag?

  • @CaptainSkittles you fag fuck, and dumb-founded dip shit.

  • @CaptainSkittles "contemporary stain" more like you havde a jizz stain on your FAG MOUTH HOLE FAGGY!

  • @sk8ingrox1 Retarded.

  • @grungybookseller Agreed.

  • This music heals

  • Dedicated to Harold Camping.

  • This should be the official Steve Jobs song. As far as I'm concerned, it is.

  • Super cool polyrhythym! Even if you don't like Tool, you can't deny that these guys are fantastic musicians.

  • The song is a sarcastic look at L. Ron Hubbard, who took it upon himself to prove how easy it is to make up a religion. It does compare him to Jesus.

  • @killemall771 Agreed.

  • I thought this song was about jesus.

  • @0kissMYbASS it is...

  • @sofkt The whole jesus theme is a metaphor. "Not all martyrs see divinity, but at least you tried" Just think of any phony cult leader, and the song makes sense

  • 4 people don't know what is Tool's main definition.

  • R.I.P Bill Hicks

  • i guess every Tool fan would agree when i say Danny Carey is one of the best drummers to ever walk this planet.

  • I love the odd, ever changing time signatures Tool uses. Makes their music very interesting.

  • great song for a strip club

  • Comment removed

  • I love it when morons come into YouTube videos trying to spin their creaky wheels to interpret what a song means to them instead of just listening to it.

  • @shadaxsolstice trying to understand a message is nothing to laugh at

  • i think Tool is classical music from the 21st century

  • i AM KNOWN AS THE ELEVEN. because i have eleven living souls within me. Sooon i will be the Twelve. Almost enlightenment. So why am i sooo sad???

Because i tooo stand above the crowd but noone listens until its too late. I recall everything and i never forget anything but who cares??? Why is this so intrusive to people ??? I have to tell them the truth but noone wants to hear me? I am an ambulance officer Am musician And an Contractor among many more things. Dont Lie Ever I Would die

  • @hiromimi100 how much crack do you smoke daily

  • For all that anyone knows,....JC was an incredibly profound, powerful in gift of speech,Schizophrenic. If you get angry at this observation, you are hating on a lot of famous people from every category. I know some intelligent, talented,&very nice people who happen to be "Schizophrenic." If by just one opinion from a M.D.,one could find themselves under ANY label. SCAREY

  • it's about whatever you fucking want it to be about, tools.

  • @TheParanoidSchizo thats brainshatteringly profound.

  • @joesaccountwitstuff It sounds harsh I agree but that dosen't necissarily mean it's insulting...He had alot to say..Well I take that as He said alot of things that had potential for opening minds, He had alot of nothing to say.. Makes me think well, here we are years later after the man's death and not much has changed so the briliant ideas he had never really manifested.

  • @ahhGroovymangroovy I think he's applying the song to Bill Hicks in one way...and then to L Ron Hubbard in another at the same time. One positive, One negative..nobody listened to Bill Hicks...while many people listen to Hubbard which is exactly the opposite of what it should have been...just my 2 cents..."][" [[]] [[]] ][,, !!!

  • No! Its about butterflies and unicorns you morons!

  • @govtschemes It's Tool. It's gotta be pretty awesome. Years of thought going into it...we can only hope

  • 6:37 is BAD ASS !!!!!!!

  • @thegiz2007 favorite part

  • Master Beat!!!!! OMFG!

  • I still remember the day I found this CD face up in a snowy tire track_ no case just a gleaming disc. Listened to it for the first time. Like a gift from heaven & it was flawless.

  • @grimbattalion seriously.....this is the greatest album i ve ever heard.and i ve heard alot of great albums

  • @grimbattalion wow, great experience. no sarcasm, really. : o to find one of the greatest albums on the snow, deserted... maybe somebody wanted to pass on this masterpiece? wow. it makes me wonder.

  • @aspiniou

Tool fans don't generally try to "spread the gospel of Tool" because its hypocritical. Most Tool fans have even given up on playing Tool music for other people, because Tool is really something you have to discover on your own in order to like it.

  • you have no idea how true that is.. and not just with tool but with everything.. all these confused emotion stirring revolutions. people can't change because you tell them to, they have to educate themselves. you say you've got a revolutions well you know, we'd all love to see the plan.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 If your shit is good enough, people will find it on their own..

  • @SpunkySkunk347 That's not true, i was given a Tool cd and never looked back.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 I agree that you have to discover it on your own, but I feel like that's true with any profound art. However someone can introduce you to it by saying "Hey, you should check out this band" and leave it at that. I do that with Tool, Bill Hicks, Terence McKenna, etc. These are boundary-pushing artists and it may not be everyones cup of tea. But I like to at least make them known and open up someone to the opportunity of discovering what I have.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 Couldn't agree more!

  • @SpunkySkunk347 yes indeed. sometimes people ask me what my fav band is and im like "Tool" and theyre all like MAN THEY FUCKIN SUCK, or "THEIR SONGS ARE TOO LONG"... but fuck them. i discovered tool when i was about 12. 17 now, really wish they would come out with another album similar to Aenima or Lateralus

  • @mayhem1029 I'm 16 and I've only really just "discovered" Tool in past couple of months. I mean, I knew of them and I liked a couple of songs such as Parabola and The Patient but I was part of the minority that thought their songs has too much length. Then one day, I locked myself in my bedroom, turned the lights off and listened to Pushit (the Salival version) and that was, what I consider, to be my first REAL "Tool experience". Now Eulogy is my favourite song - Parabola second.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 That's true. I heard it on the radio and thought to myself, "This man's voice is beautiful, and these instruments are being played by talented musicians. And I'm liking it, a lot." I never knew who the band was until I finally whipped out my phone and used a song ID app on it. I am forever thankful for that app. Nobody showed me Tool, I found it.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 Well said.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 Good point. A guy I knew listened to Tool when I was around. But I wouldn't say he introduced me to them as in we didn't have a conversation about the merits of the band. Honestly at first I ddin't know what to think then I gradually started listening to them and I liked what I heard. After that I discovered A Perfect Circle and the rest is history.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 lol Yeah man, I play Tool for people at parties thinking they'll totally dig it [Why not right? It's fucking TOOL]. And all they have to say is.. "This isn't in 4/4..."

  • @ChimChimandChimaira bullshit. nobody at a party is gonna fucking talk like that, nerd.

  • @azngoku666 lol Hm.. I'll just ignore you, now. Goodbye.

  • @SpunkySkunk347 So damn true. TooL will alter your life if you listen to one song in the right state of mind.

  • @TheLoopLight lateralus changed my life! i started reaching out like the song suggested and im a much happier person because of it. that song started a chain reaction that lead to me becoming independent from my parents (@age 20), getting a great job at a hospital, and going to school at a large university for 2 degrees. feels good, bro.

  • @MrCharoff :)

  • @grimbattalion

that sir, is an amazing story

  • I listen to a lot of Tool but I have never listened to a song I didn't like. I love this song the most, next to Third Eye

  • @oreokitty116 Tool is my second favorite band behind Pink Floyd and I have to be honest. Most of Opiate is shit and Undertow isn't real good. They didn't really get good this album. I think Justin Chancellor was the missing piece. Reminds me of Pink Floyd didn't really take off until they picked up Gilmour.

  • @oreokitty116 Tool is my second favorite band behind Pink Floyd and I have to be honest. Most of Opiate is shit and Undertow isn't real good. They didn't really get good unti this album. I think Justin Chancellor was the missing piece. Reminds me of Pink Floyd didn't really take off until they picked up Gilmour.

  • @RideTheSpiral75 good analogy

  • Danny said who is a subject of Eulogy - L. Ron Hubbard. Well, that's sensible idea.

  • *My first ever comment on YouTube

  • Classic. My first favorite track from the album

  • Opeth never replaced metallica as good as they consistently are, Tool were the true successors If anyone, matter of fact Tool hold thier own special place I take that back cuz that would be an Insult to Tool as good as they were here. Maynard is till a better lead singer than both of the other bands lead singers.. probably the most versital passionate perfect voice in rock music since kurt kobain.. the kind of voice where they could both sing just about anything and it sounds good CUZ OF THEM!

  • This album was the "Master of Puppets" of the 90's(and in the top 10 albums of the 90's). you're lying If you say otherwise, It's rare you get a front to back classic. ZERO FILLER, groundbreaking alt metal even at a time when EVERYTHING was alternative in 1996 It was still the grunge era-near end, and they still pushed the envolop even further bucking the trend as well as giving metal a kick in the TEETH. THE INTERLUDES alone are more more creative than actual songs on most albums today.

  • Well Miss Him, Well Miss Him, Well Miss Him, Were Going To Miss Him, Were Going To Miss Him... Rip Bill Hicks And The Rest Of The Universe <3

  • this song was played at mt bros grave it meens a lot to me so who dont like this song can go do somthing

  • it could be about anyone at all , just as long as you freely speak the truth of your mind,be courageous and have word and actions worthy of honor

  • @joesaccountwitstuff I may be wrong man, but I have the feeling it's about Jesus.

  • @Vivimord it isnt but i see where you get that from

  • @Vivimord it's about Bill Hicks trying to be his own Jesus Christ

  • 123456789 12345 123456789 12345 123456789 12345 123456789 12345

    Can't. Stop. Tapping.

  • One fuck you buddy, for you!

  • @joesaccountwitstuff but I thought maynard liked bill hicks?

  • we will sorely miss him

  • I don't wanna suck the beef...

  • someone had to be an outcast and dislike this video
