As for "Allah" being the arabic word for God, if its origin is the same as the hebrew word אל (el) then yes. Even "elahi" sounds like אלוהים (elohim).
So many haters here its all due to their upbringings and their parents did not teach them discipline and i really pitty those people, who have so much hatred for others, i pitty that they were brought up so wrong, you may feel so offended if this applies to you but the truth is i have really went to the root of your misfortune. Anyways enjoy the nasheed and may god bless you all.
@BalckNIGGERtrash What fear must live within your heart and your mind is clear to see. But at the end of each day, we rest easy when your dreams of darkness wait to become your reality. Your words of offence bring only offence to your own soul. I pray that Allah Subhana wa ta'ala will send His (Hidaya) Guidence to you, that oneday you will have the opportunit to repent before That Day meets you with the words you so openly share with ease. Ameen
The First Song I've Pressed Like On Youtube :) & I've been listening to Most of the Hallelujah version's all day LoL, Mashallah' the voices of the singers are also strong but humbled'
MashaAllah beautiful, so very beautiful! May Allah Subhana wa ta'ala bless he who psted it and those who listen to it. JazakAllah Khair for the heart who shared it.
Absolutely lovely mashallah. I stopped listening to music years ago but still remember the original and missed it. Now I can listen to this without sin :) very well done!

For a "sound guy"; you sure have some unsound opinions. The song "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen has been covered by many artistes; offering different cover versions. Are you gonna say these musicians also "steel (sic) music" from others?
As to your contention that Allah is the "god of Islam"; maybe you should sign up for some classes on theology or religion. And look up an English-Arabic dictionary too...
@amerdwaik@amerdwaik That is pure idiocy, you are symbolising that whenever arabic is used it indicates everything about islam! WELL YOU HAVE TO READ THE MEANING OF THIS SONG IN WHATEVER LANGUAGE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND FIRST. The you can make assumptions if this song is about Islam or not and as 99meemo99 said the company have bought the copy right of the song, so they can do whatever thye like about it, and let it be so if it was about islam, get out of your arrogance and get your facts right pal
@aisicakes i don't have a problem with Jews or any other religion. i was just saying how it is.
the absence of Islam as a state is whats killing us. look into history and you will find we have never been humiliated like this until the absence of the Khilafah.
@sajj1989 who's Khilafah? I really don't get it now. and I'm not trying to be rude either but I haven't really been taught this history yet. like right now we're learning american history. please explain so that I can at least understand this from your point of view :).
@aisicakes don't worry no offense taken, the Khilafah is the Islamic state, it is what used to imply and govern the rules of Islam. it lasted from the time of the Prophet S.A.W up until its was destroyed by the hands of the colonialist in 1924.
Wish muslims and jews (in Palestine/Israel), could unite in the sake of peace and God! They have so much more in common than what they disagreed on...
No one said anything about the original being a song solely about God. And it's more than just about a girl or using religious imagery, it even references the bible let alone repeating Hallelujah(Praise Yah).
You're just spending too much effort on rationalizing your atheistic hate, rather than just enjoy a good song when you hear one.

Just to let you know, The original author of the song (Leonard Cohen) actually made so many verses that the song would have been about 20 minutes so usually different singer (and even Leonard Cohen) pick and choose different parts of the song and that is why there are different "versions".
I like this version a lot, it fits the original context of the song. Cohen said this was supposed to be about King David's life, poems, and prayers, and his life is really the life of every human being, everyone has sinned and everyone gets themselves into trouble but amazingly God always shows mercy and grace on me, this is embarrassing but I had to close my eyes to not cry during this song lol it's like the story of my life.
