sorry for put it this way, there is a satelital image of stanley port during the war, I can for sure say thats an american satelite but I suppose it is

  • @TheARMAProductions Except the exocets and the SUE, all the arsenal were old material, nothing buyed at the last moment for this war, the british didnt engage the mirage until they got the sidewinders in the ascencion island, and then you know the rest of the story, the british fought well, but Im tired of the bullshit that misils make a huge diference that why they are a valid misil even today, there was nothing like that until 1984 when the soviets produce an upgrade of the archer r73

  • The usa supplied fuel and ammo and logistics . That sort of thing..

They thought the argentinians were in the wrong too.

As did most of the world. The falklands war proved the british army are the best in the world.

It makes tinpot dictators think twice before taking them on now.

All our british troops serving anywhere and everwhere god bless you!

    Youre the best!

  • they hardly did anything idiot regan his refrence to those little islands down there they were getting in bed with argies then and they are no did u not see the slut hilary clinton with kristine chirchener

  • The Argentineans we defend our national sovereignty we felt, it, we fought because us ours….meanwhile you never knew because fought, nor where they were those islands, they were because them control a drunkard the Tacher. without North American aid they serian verguenza world-wide.

  • @faustto333 What North American aid? There was NONE.

  • @MrStig691 AIM9L SIDEWINDERS the best air-air misile at the time? satelital information?

  • I Was in 2 Para.Falklands Vet.

  • I Was in 2 Para.

  • @TheARMAProductions also, opponents of the military dictatorship in argentine supported the recapture of the malvinas from british occupation then. so, the crimes of videla and the others don't concern the legitimacy of the war.

  • @TheARMAProductions your ignorance of history becomes clear when you write about kosovo...

kepuysac has made a good point about the hypocritical british stance on "self-determination" , regarding diego garcia and malvinas.

  • the british have not yet the maturity to accept they are an EX world power and cannot impose their rule on foreign territories with violence. but one day they will and territories like "falkland" (malvinas) and gibraltar will pass into legal ownership.

  • @TheARMAProductions About the last thing you said about the Argentine soldiers, who surrendered, and were pleased to have been captured, is a very stupid comment, I can tell you that i the did military service here, and no professional or conscript soldier would say that. There are a lot of soldiers that before surrender they prefer shooting himself in the head or spend all their ammo and give their last breath if it is nescesary, so do not come with invented comments or something else

  • how can you pay taxes for the royalty? you are not serious: prince charles want to be a tampax!. this is civilization! or Blair-Bush: killed 100,000 irakies for oil! oh civilization!

  • the Malvinas aren't a nation and have no right to self-determination; should Muslim areas of Bradford be allowed to join Pakistan if they wish? The Malvinas were seized by force by Britain in 1833 and the colonists who live there have no right whatsover to 'opt out' of Argentinian jurisdiction. The UK's stance is hypocritical when you consider the population of Diego Garcia, who were forcibly deported from the island by the British government. Not much respect for self determination there!

  • Noticed you whiped that off !!!!!

  • I sreved in british and f f l, whereve u served? And who with?

  • Il tell u why mate, coz two of my best friend were there, one cam home and one didnt, i was in the marine cadets with my best mate roland when he had to get took out of parade coz his brother had just died, i joined the army two years later coz of the inspiration stuey left made me want to do ? u wanna here anymore? I visit his GRAVE EVERDAY.nothing u can tell me bout my friends ines who came back and ones who never !!!!

  • Unless you have served in action or were there, what do ANY of you know about this?

  • Major chris keeble......good badminton player i believe and a great leader who had to rearrange a mess and got the job done.

  • If hed of thought things through a bit more instead of just losing his temper with his company commanders and wanting to do things just his way they wouldve gained victory much sooner perhaps with fewer casualties, its ok being gung-ho but there was opportunities that officers below h jones pointed out to him and he didnt listen.

  • I had a friend steve davies, he survived but poor get had just finished basic training ans then got thrown into that, he said h jones was a dickhead, always screaming at the soldiers, no one liked him.major chris keeble got the job done.

  • hey, did Michael Gambon do the narration to this?

  • the americans thought it was impossible to take the islands

    God bless everyone that served

  • Colonel H was a true Brit.

    Great man

    R.I.P

  • It´s innacceptable to say Lt. Col. Jones was killed due to "argentine foul fight". He made contact with argentine officer in order to get argentine surrender. Argentine officer said to him "We do not surrender, son of a bitch; you have two minutes to go back to your lines and we will start fire" While Lt. Col Jones was going back to brit lines, fire was opened from british positions so argentines fired back killing him as he was jumping a fence in order to get covered.

  • @Studas2006 You have no idea who the "posh geezer is" He saved 2000 lives in the Falklands!!

  • @paulbuzu you're right.

  • There were dozens of border disputes all over the world...the British had been in the falklands for 150 years bothering nobody. Argentina had no right to the islands....they thought we wouldn't fight.....they thought wrong....other pretenders took a step back when they saw our military in action. The ripples spread out far further than the falkland islands.

  • we didn't go there to fight for the falklands we went there to liberate the british people who had been taken over by an agressive force .just as we would for any people who consider themselvs BRITISH .

  • @UKsniper4 yea man thats the girngos that i know, show me you are not a knight after all, jajja nothing more than garbage can be found in a place like this.

  • i was there, i had tobayonet an enemy in a ditch after 2 had survived my grenade. the weight of the ist enemy soldier on my bayonet pulled his weight towards me nearly knocking me over, it saved my life, the 2nd enemy shot at me hitting the guy i had bayoneted, giving me time to release my bayonet and lunge my bayonet into him. the argies fought well, respect,, we were just better trained.

  • @kaypaxian1 spoken like a true gent. we may have won but you still have to respect the argies they were just doing what we were doing fighting for there country.

  • @UKsniper4 I preffer that you dont respect us, cause if you do we were force to do it too and i dont want to respect any of you.

  • @Leogalvanhalen this war happened 28 year ago and i will respect anyone who died in that war even the argies.

  • @UKsniper4 well then, dont call us argies, we are argentinians and i not goin to call you gringo, i really preffer to not respect all of you, but i have to give what i received

  • @Leogalvanhalen argies is short for argentinians just like brit is short for british and you can think what ever you like because its not going to stop me respecting those men who died for there country.

  • @UKsniper4 AH ladies and gentlemen, we have found a real cavalier here, jaja and i thougt that would never find something good looking in the garbage

  • @UKsniper4 gringo come from "green go". and it refers to the yankies but we used to all the english speakers

  • i respect you so the only think i gona say is fuck you scum

  • Twenty eight years ago today - some of us have not forgotten.

  • H Jones, with all the respect due to him, acted like a tit.

Chris Keeble had attended a German military academy where Mission Command was key. While I don't deny that Jones' death provided a morale boost, Keeble was the one who un-fucked the battle of Goose Green and he deserves a hell of a lot more credit.

To the Argentinians... get over it yeah? You lost 30 years ago and you'll lose again if you even try to attack the Falklands. Fuck off and sort your economy out.

  • @JaffacakeKiller99 don't judge something you cannot understand. You cannot apply rational, logical thought to a decision made in the heat of battle, unless you've been there yourself.

  • @THthefirst

So you're one of these people who thinks that unless someone has been in a combat situation they can say NOTHING about those that have? Fair enough, but bear in mind you're isolating a lot of good military historians and experts... it's a dumb opinion I think.

I'm not saying a) I could have done better or b) H Jones wasn't in an extremely difficult situation. I even said he deserves a load of respect. But I believe he did an irresponsible thing. And Keeble deserves more credit.

  • @JaffacakeKiller99 What's dumb is your attempt to summarise my view. I never said non-combatants should say nothing. It is also dumb to see my post as both "fair enough" and "dumb", in the same sentence.

To clarify, you are applying a RATIONAL approach to an irrational situation (i.e. life and death) and have the benefit of hindsight.

  • @JaffacakeKiller99 In addition, you describe H as "a tit" in your first sentence, so how you can possibly suggest you treat him and he deserves a load of respect, is beyond me. I think you need to think more carefully about what you write before you type it.

  • think even the British themselves know that these lands do not belong are tourists who live there, nothing more than that and they know it. ambition and power, nothing more, just have to say that Thatcher has the same blood, of those who enslaved Scotland.

  • @Apolinesio What are you talking about? The British know these islands belong to Great Britain. I work in the oil industry and have been working in the Falkland islands just recently.

  • Rule Brittania!!!!!!!!!!!

    Jman

  • @pinz2022 Yes Col Jones was alittle Gung ho but he inspired his men and those of 3 para on Mount Longdon. He was a leader and wanted to win a honour medal during the conflict and realised that the falklands was the perfect venue to do so. His actions warranted his V.C

  • the reason Jones sacrificed himself was that the atack had stalled and he had no choice but to lead from the front. I've no idea what that feels like but will always seek to avoid finding out.

  • Barry Norman this is, much respected Sargeant in 2 Para, (C Bruneval Coy), Signal Pl.

H Jones died in Barry's arms. Barry was a very wise NCO.

  • Jones were killed by Lieutenant Gomez Centurion

Can anyone believe that an officer will run 20 meters with a hand grenade to destroy an enemy trench when you have rocket launchers with a telescopic sight Milan?

If he really did that, rather than a British hero, was an incompetent fool

  • @MartinFierro80 Its called having balls and leadership

  • Herbert Jones, a war machine. Well done Jones, well done. Jones was a real British soldier. He was the best.

  • britain knows how to win a war!

  • British, Irish, Argentinian, American, whatever, no one nation can claim sovereignty over any land, it belongs to no one and everyone.

We all bleed the same blood. We all shed the same tears and feel the same sadness when life dear to us is destroyed.

  • fag.

  • Does anyone know the name of this film? i'd love to find it.

  • It was from a documentary called , 'Falklands War The Untold Story'

  • @borjon23 have you seen blessed by fire?

  • What a brave man. In the finest traditions of the British Army and the Parachute Regiment ,he lead by example. SIr, I salute you.

  • @Yorio87 SI EL CORONEL , CAYO POR RAFAGAS DE F. A. L , Y VARIOS HOMBRES MAS ; PERO A LAS CIFRAS REALES LAS NIEGAN ...

  • Bravest British soldiers:

Colonel Herbert Jones: Killed charging an Argentine machine gun position.

Sergeant Ian McKay: Killed by Argentine machine gun fire while charging and throwing grenades.

    Bravest Argentine soldiers:

Captain Pedro Giachino: Killed while storming government house.

  • varettah, grow up! they are British and they want to remain in their part of BRITAIN! Which is the Falkland Islands! If you are Argy I respect your soldiers and aI hope they RIP with our soldiers, but to say what you did is just stupid. Britain won, bottom line and the people there want to remain British and on the Falkland Islands!

  • Yes I completely agree! The Falkland Islands are BRITISH! Just ask the islanders.

  • @HoustonGD Claro los isleños son usurpadores tambien-Clear the islanders are usurpers also

  • This is a good video, showing some of the horrors of this awful war. Col H Jones VC 2 para & Sgt Ian McKay VC 3 para RIP. RIP to all servicemen & women that didn't make it back, on both sides.

  • Last time the british army used baynets, stabbing Argentines hid behind rocks, filthy battle.

  • we win with africans and chineese people at the from cobards

  • Neal Dance is my Hero, Window Washer in Canada. Yea, he was in Goose green, Hello Neal!!!!!...lol....

  • sorry all i think he fucked up. Very brave man no doubt,as a member of the armed forces, full respect. But he should not have been doing that ,his job was to lead his men and control his forces , he left them in dissaray

  • Led from the front, and regained the momentum necessary after A coy had been pinned down. His job here was to win this battle and thats what 2para done against a force three times their size. The men were inspired to win by his action not left in dissaray

  • and the great fella mackay

  • could all the argies please fuck off posting on this video?

it is a tribute to a HERO who led his men and died bravely in battle. by posting your shit on here, you are befouling his legacy.

he died for the mission behind the war, the islanders right to freedom to be british if they want. AND THEY DID AND STILL DO!!

ARGENTINA LOST!!!! GET OVER IT AND DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIVES!!!

    GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

    RIP COLONEL JONES

  • Poor jonesy charged out with a stirling silly boy.

  • a los 5:08, es el Subteniente Gomez Centurion?

  • Las Malvinas son Argentina and we, us, you know that.

  • glad to see gordon clown do one thing good this week, tell kirchner to shove it up her a-hole

  • Too bloody right.

The funny thing is Kirchner says it is shameful of Britain to have a colonial enclave in the 21st Century, but what is it she wants the falkland islands to be..........

  • @Ohyewildthong Argentine offer: Argentine Malvinas

  • the most common order you will ever give in the british army as an officer is 'follow me'.

  • A very brave bit of bad luck. What leadership, no wonder his men had such high respect for him. RIP 'H'

  • "I whish you all the best british people frm the deepest place in my heart, sicerously, Argentina must renunce to his claims for those islands and respect the whishes of the Falklanders, we have more serious issues to solve in my country.......greetings from Argentina!!!!!!!!!!!:)"

  • Alot of young men died for this pointless campaign, yes the paras did kick arse, politicians should live with it,young boys wasted, both sides.

  • Every man there believed in the job they were doing. Sovereignty is one of the few things worth fighting for. It is disrespectful to the Falklanders and the armed forces to call the liberation of the Falklands a pointless campaign.

  • "The tipical argentinian is a really demostrative, humble, respectul, honest, sincerous, solidaryum, noble, nice, gentil, sweet, hard working people, lover of life person......its time to start over people..........and I think in the 2012, when cumplish the 30th aniversary of the war, its an excellent oportunity to remember together the cassualtias for both sides......I think all people that love life have to fight with the real cancer of the Planet Earth: THE RELIGIONS."

  • "Hello people, my name is Emiliano Stoessel, Im argentinian and I think all wars are stupids. I propose a reconciliation between argentinians and britishs, after all, we are all humans beings, I think many britishs have a really distort image of the argentine society, maybe you people think that we are crazy fanatic muslims capable of everything to recovery those islands, but we dont."

  • We dont think you are like Muslims as they are scum !

The Falklands war was fought over the islanders right to remain BRITISH

  • I think the bloke with the moustache meant my dad when he talked of the voice behind him shoutung "watch out, trench from the left" (see ca 2.10min). Well that's what my father told me. He said he was an Int. guy who had to run around with the Paras and Colonel Jones.

  • Lt -Colonel H Jones Victoria Cross

    british hero

see bobgladstone tribute to col jones very informative

    what a nutter

  • Well, a professional army (british) fight with an army of amateurs (argentina).

  • Yes, sounds so simple doesn't it. It must have been a piece of piss to sail to the other side of the world, no?

  • This film is from the series..'Soldiers'...which was narrarated by Fredrick Forsyth back in the 80's I think. It was a great series as it had a specific branch of the army each episode . It jumped through history showing that particular subject.

  • 12 comments and at least 3 highly abusive, others not abusive, but not very informative (the one which country is better). No comments about the film itself. I am interested in the further parts of the film, becouse it obviously cuts in the middle of the sentence.

  • Thanks for the reply. The abuse has been removed, hopefully we can get some informative debate.

  • @ColdWarWarriors This is a very difficult thing to do. I would like to think we could have films where only informative comments were allowed but practically it is not possible.

What really cheeses me off is where I have to act as a censor because of the abuse.

  • @alanheath I take it you would like me to moderate the comments here much more vigilantly.

Unfortunatly due to the large number of videos I have uploaded and comments posted on them daily, it is not possible to monitor everything as close as I would like to. Yes there are a lot of jingoistic , nationalistic and sometimes abusive comments made.

If you find something offensive PM me and I will remove it.

    Cheers CWW

  • @ColdWarWarriors Not at all - I am sorry you misunderstood me.

I have posted a lot of films relating to Nazi crimes and unfortunately the amount of racist abuse that I get means that censorship is necessary.

In this case, I appreciate comments from Argentinians - most of whom wanted nothing to do with this imperialist war of aggression by Galtieri and his henchmen.

  • @ColdWarWarriors I know how difficult it is to moderate the comments - and how much time it takes. I get all sorts of racist comments on my site. All you can do is remove them and ban the commenter.

  • @alanheath I agree with Alan

  • @OlenkaWagner

For a complete and shattering account of the battle, read Not Mentioned In Dispatches, by Spencer Fitz-Gibbons.

SFG's history reporting is thorough, critical, unsparing. Col H does not come out as heroic. He was a micromanager, a poor tactician, showed few of the hallmarks of a good leader. Charisma? He ignored all initiative and input by lower commanders. Having to see everything for himself, make every decision (pride?) led to the attack stalling. Two companies were not used.

  • The Falklands are British always have been and always will be
