@xaxie thats what good movies are for. they are supposed to arouse controversy and to get people to start talking. i love this movie, partly because of the phenomenal acting, and because of the actual events that took place. the movie breaks down the corrupt nature of this time, and tells you to take a step back, observe and act upon how your system is running. also tells you that when you have nothing left, you still have hope.
fantastic film. I remember seeing Changeling in the cinema. I remember thinking 'I hope this isn't as boring as the trailer looks' - and my god, it was completely different from what I had expected. the trailer definitely does not do the movie justice. definitely a must watch.
It almost sickens me that this film got a few negative reviews as well. This IS a five star movie it succeeds on pretty much every level. This was an ok review, but letters from Iwo Jima is in no way shape or form better than this and unforgiven.
My only problem with the movie is that they didn't mention the fact Walter Collins and the other victims of the Wineville Chicken Coop murders were sexually abused before killed.

This is a very much "American" film. There is a hero, Christine, fighting against bad guys.
Angelina Jolie's acting... well, throughout the film, I could not forget "Angelina acting as Christine". If her acting is really good, you forget that Christine is acted by an actress.
@alicewendon The movie doesn't even BEGIN to go into disturbing compared to the actual case. I remember the first time I saw this movie, I thought the same thing and then I looked into the actual Wineville Chicken Coop Murders and found out the serial killer, Gordon Stewart Northcott, not only murdered the children but abducted, tortured, and molested the boys. It was a very heart wrenching movie and even more heart wrenching case.
lol, when I saw the trailer first time I burst out laughing at Jolie's hysterical overacting. and the movie looks totally one dimensional and cartoonish to me, Im not even going to bother.
if you saw the movie, you would know that she is not overacting at all...can you even begin to imagine how horrifying it would be to have your son missing, unsure of where he is, and then be reunited with a child who is not your own? and very few people, none of who can REALLY help you, agree with you? Angelina Jolie was perfect in this film, and I don't even like her at all, usually. lol. you should see it though; at the least it'll keep your attention for a couple of hours...
