When this was first released, it was my least favourite Ultravox track because it was so, well, NOT Ultravox! I didn't listen to it for YEARS but now, listening with 'new ears' - OMG! That Brass, Carol Kenyon's ace BVs, Midge's spot on vocal and that amazing, driving beat, it's absolutley excellent and now my fave Ultravox single! It was YEARS ahead of it's time and would NOT be out of place in today's chart - AMAZING!

i hated this album when it was first released but I've gradually grown to appreciate it a lot more, The Prize is the only thing I still can't stand - ghastly! The complete lack of euro-sounding synths was the hardest thing to get to grips with. but one good thing about this era is at least midge and chris cut their hair again!

@chrisnoaro1 - I have the same feeling...I was HORRIFIED when I first heard U-VOX, but after setting it aside and listening to it a few or several years later, it's at least not nearly as bad as I first thought.

U-VOX is a very dull & uninspired album, not nearly as good as 'Vienna', 'Rage In Eden' or 'Quartet'. Maybe they were trying to appeal to more Americans, hence no synthesisers?

Midge looked very good, though...

I saw them in concert in Poland in 86 or 87 and they were awesome!

I agree and I am a huge fan. You could clearly see the direction Midge was going and would go with his mostly so so solo projects. Got way too much into the do good save the world stuff. Vienna, Rage and Quartet and even Lament are really hard to beat.

Not surprised u can't see Warren on this....this vid is NOT right..... what the crap is Midge doing???? .... anywho's...saw 'em live Cornwall '81 MONUMENT TOUR.... saw them 2 weeks ago PLYMOUTH PAVILLONS...and as always (apart from this one) totally the best.... cant wait another 28 years..... and I got Billy's drum stick form end of Gig.... :) ha ha ha !!!

Funny seeing the horn section (Very un Ultravox). May have been synth in the original?
