im not very knowledgable with this situation, but one concern I have (asides from any human exploitation that could occur) is the exploitation of nature and wildlife of Africa. China has a huge black market economy. I could easily see China get heavily involved with poaching, deforestation, and other forms of animal exploitation. When African countries call on the Chinese to upgrade infrastructure, that's all the Chinese do; they don't make political demands left and right and refuse to begin the task until those demands are met.
This is why African leaders find it easier to turn to China aid in addition to China being the prime example of a country that lifted itself out of its "Third World" status.

im not very knowledgable with this situation, but one concern I have (asides from any human exploitation that could occur) is the exploitation of nature and wildlife of Africa. China has a huge black market economy. I could easily see China get heavily involved with poaching, deforestation, and other forms of animal exploitation. It would undermine the uphill battle that many environmentalists, scientist, and nature lovers are fighting so hard for. For example, Rhino Horns.

The West ruled Africa for so long, but when I look at the situation, China is building roads in Africa, that means the White men did not even build roads there. The whites only exploited Africa for their own benefit. The situation is similar to that of India, the Brits ruled India for 300 years, and the only thing Indians got was exploitation.

@americaninjustice you are forgetting that South Africa has the biggest infrastructure in Africa that has been build by white and black together. I wonder if India and Brazil will also go to Africa theyre economy is growing also. So everyone will get benefit for it the Chinese will get benefit for theyre own multinationals to build there and western country's won't have to put billions of euro development aid to Africa. And people are forgeting that more people are poor then rich in China

Part 2: But I do not deny there are certainly some Chinese who worship the whites (who are fairer) but despise people of darker skin tones than they are. But these Chinese have forgotten how they have been despised before by the westerners for being backward and dirt poor. My mantra is simple "Do not do unto others as you wish others not to do unto you". So i really don't care what yr skin tone if you can show some mutual respect.

No pt talking about things that havent happened yet with regard to China. But what we all know is the westerners esp. USA,have made slavery out of Africans, brought them to USA and treated them worse than dogs until Lincoln abolished slavery. These slaves were not paid and all chained up,ie exploitation without any pay. Even if China exploit Africa natural resources,at least they get paid, maybe cheaply. And you think the West, esp USA is not eyeing Africa's resources? Look what happen to Iraq.

@NSLBC When will we learn! There are so many African decent people in the Americas Europe and especially Europe. Africa doesn't need the Chinese to build them shit. They can bring the sister and bothers from the west to help and train our people to do for self. The must advance people in the world are the black people who are in America so not use us to help black people in our homeland of Africa.

The Chinese will get vastly more latitude to abuse their position by virtue of being ABW (Anything But White).
On the one hand they won't indulge fantasies about African prosperity (i.e. that Africa is one step away from achieving something worthwhile) and so their investment will go much further. On the other hand their record of human rights abuses to their own people is so horrific this could portend something very ominous for the dark continent.
