@405countryboy I don't see it as being due to the blackness of your skin or any other racial phenotype though, any more than negative statistics concerning homosexuality are due to the homosexual nature of the homosexual relationship. They are not direct causes (the race and orientation), they are incidentally related to the cause(s), which is likely largely, or perhaps entirely, "minority stress", which itself involves multiple aspects.

@405countryboy Given that there are thousands of denominations of Christianity, before you even begin to take in to account the huge variety of personal "interpretations" (though true, most Christians don't actually read the bible), clearly God was not too fussy about being specific in what he said.
No twisting of scripture was required when it was used to support slavery or when it was (almost certainly) used to justify oppression of women. I expect it still often is in fact.

Assuming they could though, then 1 way would be to show it in combination with all other major religion's holy books and inform the child some people believe that these books are the words of their Gods.
I'd be very surprised to find any 4 year old actually wanting to read the bible of their own volition.

However, if you consider treatment of LGBT people on a global scale, they are tortured, murdered and imprisoned around the world, often in accordance with the law.... so things are a lot worse than you as (I assume an American) might appreciate anyway.

Why do people have to be so cruel. Us gays do not discriminate against religious folks and if we did I'm sure it would be world war 3. The reason we don't discriminate anti-gay religious groups is because we are the bigger person.
