The clarinet was Tony Parenti, not maybe but definitely. He was my Uncle. He passed in '70 and we played at his gravesight in a pouring rain. Among the players were Joe Moranyi, Freddie Moore, Bobby Pratt & Bob Cantwell. He was a New Orleanian and a unique artist, He was leader on recordings with Wild Bill as sideman. Thanks for listening
Political Correctness strikes again. A key line in the original says, "where white and dark folk meet." Here, it is rendered as the sappy, "where all the people meet." I know the original lines because back in the late 50s, when I lived for a few years in New Orleans I saw Teagarten and Santos and Prima sing it the right way.
Black people crated jazz in New Orleans and whites picked up on it. Until then popular music had been pretty stale stuff.

A correction: it is not Bigard, however, I also do not know who it is? Thanks again for the posting as it is such a joy to listen to Teagarden.

Isn't Bigard on clarinet - he was Afro-American. It is Russell or someone who closely resembles him Saw Russel several times in the 1950s.

I am positive the trumpet player with Jack is Ruby Braff

Looks like Tony Parenti on clarinet. Too much hair for Bigard.

My guess is the drummer is Cozy Cole. Seriously though, a delightful song by the guy who penned the lyrics. Thanks for posting!

Sure looks like Tony on clarinet to me as well. I'm sure it's not Barney or Pee Wee.
