  • @Dihelson

This is more vulgar than creative.

  • I don't really like the first part. but when he do the quiet part, it's wonderful !

  • Sorry... but this is AWFUL. His interpretation is sloppy... between his over pedalling/chotic tempo fluctuations and general mistakes, sounds almost like a joke - a bad one.

  • @Dihelson ur forgetting so many parts to playing the piano its not even funny

  • Excellent !!! - Very deep and passionate.

  • horrible! Gilels is far superior at tis one!!

  • @nadaschka and lagansky

  • I think musicality is in adding your personality to a piece - because all you need, to be able to play the notes, is technical skill. A regimented performance without originality for me detracts from a piece, because it's easy to get bored playing and hearing them. It's always a very personal thing, and others will prefer the opposite, so I think it's wrong to argue that his musicality, or performance indeed, 'sucks'. It's opinion.

  • what kind of "performance" is this? he add notes that arent there, he gives a fuck about notations. this is just a lame attempt to attract attention. as well as his emotions during the play. i also do this, but not the way that it looks acted. completly exaggerated. he has technical skills, but his musicality sucks. sorry

  • So u 1 Rachmaninov prelude no.5? go to RICHTER, GILELS, HOFFMAN, but never this guy!!!

  • Perfect, I really love it.

  • The sound he gets out of the piano, stunning.

  • One of the reasons musicians improvise is for the listeners to not get bored of the same thing being played every time. I thumbs up for this one.

  • Valentina Litsita. This interpretation does not make this piece justice.

  • SUCKS.

  • i dont think there is anything wrong with his interpretation. since he is the one playing the piece at a concert, he is allowed his own variations with the piece and play it as the music comes alive at the hall. if i worked all my life to be a fantastic concert pianist like Lang Lang, but i couldnt play the pieces because it wasnt the right way that every other pianist has done it, then whats the point? i might as well junot even try the piano. his performances always come alive so, go Lang Lang

  • and feel very happy that I can listen the new one .

  • horowitz is horowitz, he is he. composers are also so. i think

  • You guys are harsh. Yeah, Lang Lang is a goon but this piece was epic.

  • He wants to find something new, but it's an epic fail. He's killing the music and the audience applauds... What a shame!

  • La perfection a été atteinte par lang lang. Pour moi un des meilleurs pianistes du monde !

Dire que c'est LE meilleurs c'est difficile pour le piano, enfin il est vraiment très bon !

  • He's okay, but his interpretation is...

  • Funny i saw the curtis institute state in a newspaper that lang lang is the new horowitz. I admit that the media loves him for some odd reason, but that doesn't make him as good as horowitz by any means. If he can't interpret certain periods perfectly like horowitz did then i can't see lang lang going anywhere. The worst part is that he plays liszt so much and he isn't even that good at liszt.

  • if you compare it to valentina lisitsa (or many others) this sound like a totally diffrent piece but still its a brilliant interpretation just not my favorit still i would kill for such skill

  • just bloody awful. bloody, bloody awful

  • He does cause controversy. But no one should doubt the great talent that lies behind the performances; the man is a musical genius. I love to hear him play, and I think this interpretation is better than many others. It allows an... appreciation of the music.

  • ...these are here the fucking Brits, a Christian nation, and supposedly a civilized(?) one...they should spontaneously recognize that they are getting here a sick travesty of Rachmaninov, and should lynch Lang Lang for this...hey, you Brits, what the fuck is wrong with you?...

  • Furchtbare Effekthascherei!

  • Great!

  • When you see Lang Lang perform live, you are truly entertained. That's what it's about isn't it? To be thrilled and have the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. This was after all the entertainment of the day. Stop grovelling and just enjoy it.

  • I think Lang Lang has great technical skill, agreed with many there, however, his musicality is too much... great for debussy, satie, etc. (all impressionism and mid-romanticism to be honest), but this piece was not in his best judgement... the unnecessary tempo changes and ignorance of the articulation that Rach wrote on this piece, unfortunately takes away from this. Nice try Lang Lang. I love your Chopin. And your Liszt is bearable. But this just doesn't even sound good.

  • @Twinkytoe I think so.

  • @GiusTx You can't use criticising someone's musical style as a way to prove your culture and intelligence. I wonder, if you were to be put in a room with Lang Lang and were asked to express your feeling about his music to his face, what you would say. You may mutter a few half intelligent sentences, if that, but at the end of the day this man hasn't got to where he is because he is a clown, no, because he has bought a whole new sound to classical music. You either like it or you don't.

  • Bravo

  • @GiusTx now happen to be very critical of classical music, I bet you do not know to play well

  • I admire Lang Lang's technical skill, however this performance was in bad taste. It was highly over-exaggerated

  • @DLee594 That's the beauty of it. It's his performance he can do it how he likes!

  • @GiusTx its kinda sad to see how hard you would try to achieve lowering somebody else's self-esteem

  • @GiusTx Yes but you can express your opinion in a more mature fashion. Not only that but you don't have to say it out loud. Keep comments like that to yourself because your just causing people to dislike you. Your just jealous in his success and know that you have to play hours every day. You don't have to "enjoy" his playing but you don't have to throw "zingers" at him to attract attention. And seriously the only "comeback" you can say is thinking i don't know this as many other things?

  • @GiusTx well you can hate all you want but at least he is doing something in HIS life and is achieving something you could never do!

i bet you can't even play this piece let alone play any other concert pianist piece!

  • You are a racist!

  • Terrible performance, bad taste. A simple massacre of a great music.

  • @eugeskov Oh no! Another know all, wannabe musician.

  • perfect!!!

  • ma che schifo

  • Lang lang reste une enorme buche il n'y a rien a dire la dessus ;) bravo mec
