Hi guys. My friend made an MC Trouble page on Facebook yesterday - so please like it and ask all your friends to as well. Thanks so much - by the way it's the one with only 1 like lol!! Thank you!
This is really my first time paying any attention to her. Her message was on point though. Too bad she died so young. This young lady could've been a great messenger for not only black people, but all people. Racism is still very much alive in this country and throughout the world.
The Europeans invented racism, but it took good old America to perfect it.
@speakwhnspkn2 Racism is a natural human reaction to-.. Eh, why do I bother. You're one of those uneducated blacks that blame everything on the white race (even though the vast majority of us had nothing to do with slavery).
@sookieleaking Tammi Terrell a famous singer who was known for her romantic duets with Marvin Gaye, also signed to Motown Records, died of a brain tumor just lke MC Trouble did. Tammi died in 1969. She was only 24 when she passed. Trouble had a siezure and Terrell's brain tumor turned into brain cancer. Terrell had gotten an operation done on the tumor eight times. Each time she felt better after surgery and yet the tumor would later grow back stronger than before. Two Unsung Heroes gone. :(
yeh this happened right after Freddy Mercury's death, Magic Johnson's AIDS announcement, right when Jim Henson, Sammy Davis & Trouble T- Roy from Heavy D's crew died too. Friends of both T- Roy & Trouble (Puffy, Father MC, Jodeci & MJB, Shenice "I Love Your Smile" Williams & The Boys [Abdulsamad bros] & more) made their music that next few years in ongoing tribute to them; remember "When the reminisce over YOU"? That was abt T- Roy & the whole family lost at the time.
@MINUStheHEAT Fuck you! This shit Sucks! 90's my ass lmfao and im from the 90's! Everything wasn't all that good, just cuz she dead her shit Sucked! ha
Being born in the 90's doesn't count dumbass. If you think that music from the 90's wasn't good then you're much more of an idiot than I thought and I doubt you can even name 10 real rappers. Besides you listen to Nikki Minaj so you actually think anyone is going to take you seriously? Get the fuck out of here you prick.
What the fuck does her dying have to do with anything? Actually you just saying 2pac just pissed me off even more. I've seen 10 year olds who know who 2pac is. Go listen to your shit.
This track is one of the ones on her 1990 debut album (cd) that I was always feelin', it displayed her already socially conscious side at a young age, she wasn't just about gettin' loot, she was also about making a difference. It pains me to wonder how high her enormous talents would've taken her to, God only knows, R.I.P. forever MC Trouble, music misses you...
she would of been a powerful instrument in rap music regardless of an OD or not. i always went back to this vid, especially the beginning when the whites were like "look at all the politicians, etc." but homegirl shut it down when she said "check with me when we have a black president!" lol we got one now who's trying and we still have these leaders who's trying to bring a segregation revival!! smh too bad she went too soon.
There need to be more social commentary in rap today. Especially on the charts. It will never happen though because that would empower us and we`ll rise above the chains on our minds. That would be too positive of an image for blacks to be portrayed. As long as we`re rapping about pimps and hoes they`ll give you the "Sambo" award. My bad, it`s called the "Oscar" award.
NO, it was no foul play. She died in her sleep at home. Her father found her in the morning. She had epilepsy. I have a friend that knew her very well. This was very sad and still yet a huge loss for Hip Hop.
r.i.p. 2 u sistah for dropping some knowledge on us. i know what time it is but for kicking it 2 the misinformed. i am glad that things are way better 4 us-lol, and that barack obama is now in presidency-lol. i never thought i see.. well i did but i thought i'd see a brutha or sista in office in like 2040 or something-lol! but jokes aside, i am so proud-lol!-teary eyed tone-not!-lol! but r.i.p. 2 u mc trouble, word is bond that is 1 of my favorite eras! no lie-hafdav3000!-feeezy feez-peace!
This was back then when you had a strong female presence in hip hop women with some sense...Trouble,Latifah,Lyte,Yo-Yo,Monie Love,Nikki D.,Salt N'Pepa,Ms.Melodie,Antoinette. They have all been replaced by hoodrats with minimal talent or the half ass non-singing r&b chick...I miss real female MC's RIP Trouble.
i was makin 17 when trouble passed, i was born in dec, i am makin 36 now and i loved her, she was destined to be very very gr8, i miss mc trouble, this is real mc shit, these chicks they have now got beef, and got issues, love and miss the 80's & 90's, my name is javelle i just miss it.
I'm mourning the loss of her and the type of talent that was prevalent at the time. Nicki Minaj has similar talent (MC Trouble could sing and rap), but her subject matter is LACKING!
I should tweet this video to her, maybe it will inspire Nicki to rap about something other than clothes and money. Yeah, I'll do it right now.
i wish female rappers got back to these roots-all that they are talkin you can't ride off beauty alone forever- looks fade- trouble and other female rapper was talking about our future0:46 almost 20yrs after doing this song we have a black prez. who knew!
I used to run this video to death back in the day. I loved the conscious lyrics, and the female dancers are sick wit it!!!! RIP MC Trouble!!! I know she's looking down on us from heaven and is proud that we've come this far, but the struggle continues...."We gotta move or get moved on!"
Didn't she have cancer or Sickle cell that cause her untimely death in the late 90's? I may be wrong but I don't remember her dying of any violent acts.
:46 "Yeah well check with me when we have a black President" Haha!
I didn't vote for Obama because he's black. I voted for him because he was running as a liberal. Doesn't hurt that he's black. For all those white racists- how does it feel?
