  • For the one person that dis like this gotta get a grip! R.I.P MC TROUBLE

  • Comment removed

  • Hi guys. My friend made an MC Trouble page on Facebook yesterday - so please like it and ask all your friends to as well. Thanks so much - by the way it's the one with only 1 like lol!! Thank you!

  • sad they never saw a black president

  • I can't believe someone uploaded this. Nice! I went to high school in cali with the cats dancing in the video! Brings back memories! Thanks!

  • This is really my first time paying any attention to her. Her message was on point though. Too bad she died so young. This young lady could've been a great messenger for not only black people, but all people. Racism is still very much alive in this country and throughout the world.

The Europeans invented racism, but it took good old America to perfect it.

  • @speakwhnspkn2 Europeans invented racism? that has got to be the most ignorant comment I've seen all day.

  • @normanknight100 Yeah. I said it. Motherfuckers like your bitch ass and your forefathers.

  • @speakwhnspkn2 Racism is a natural human reaction to-.. Eh, why do I bother. You're one of those uneducated blacks that blame everything on the white race (even though the vast majority of us had nothing to do with slavery).

  • Damn I Didnt Know My Cuzzin(By marriage) Had Flow Like Dat, Damn R.I.P Cuzzo, Wished I Met You B4 God Called U To Perform ..I Will Miss u

  • 7.30.70-06.04.91

  • This is oo sad. She died when she was 19 or 20

  • Such a sad story! she was only 19 if only she could have lived and been able to share her talent more! RIP MC Trouble!

  • @sookieleaking Tammi Terrell a famous singer who was known for her romantic duets with Marvin Gaye, also signed to Motown Records, died of a brain tumor just lke MC Trouble did. Tammi died in 1969. She was only 24 when she passed. Trouble had a siezure and Terrell's brain tumor turned into brain cancer. Terrell had gotten an operation done on the tumor eight times. Each time she felt better after surgery and yet the tumor would later grow back stronger than before. Two Unsung Heroes gone. :(

  • oh men very very good music REST IN PEACE!!

  • We got that black president, Trouble...

You still to black and too strong for us.

R.I.P. to real hip-hop. You are missed

  • thank you mc trouble for blessing us with your talent , we will never forget you

  • A certified klassic from a dope female emcee gone way too soon!!

    rip

  • rip in 1991!

  • Man I miss MCTrouble...RIP Her career was done too soon

  • @mddarch

Additional: Look up The Boy's "Te Saga Must Continue" which the Abdulsamad brothers give homage to their "sister figure" MC Trouble.

  • @mddarch

yeh this happened right after Freddy Mercury's death, Magic Johnson's AIDS announcement, right when Jim Henson, Sammy Davis & Trouble T- Roy from Heavy D's crew died too. Friends of both T- Roy & Trouble (Puffy, Father MC, Jodeci & MJB, Shenice "I Love Your Smile" Williams & The Boys [Abdulsamad bros] & more) made their music that next few years in ongoing tribute to them; remember "When the reminisce over YOU"? That was abt T- Roy & the whole family lost at the time.

  • Whackkkkkk! Nicki is better! LOL

  • @BlameItOnTheWhiteMan YO SHE IS PASSED ON...REGARDLESS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT HER MUSICK...SHE WAS MY HOMEGIRL...SHOW SOME RESPEKT

  • @BlameItOnTheWhiteMan

You're a fucking idiot. You couldn't see talent if it hit you in the face.

  • @MINUStheHEAT Fuck you! This shit Sucks! 90's my ass lmfao and im from the 90's! Everything wasn't all that good, just cuz she dead her shit Sucked! ha

  • Comment removed

  • @BlameItOnTheWhiteMan

Being born in the 90's doesn't count dumbass. If you think that music from the 90's wasn't good then you're much more of an idiot than I thought and I doubt you can even name 10 real rappers. Besides you listen to Nikki Minaj so you actually think anyone is going to take you seriously? Get the fuck out of here you prick.

  • @MINUStheHEAT It still sucks & she's still dead!! lmao.. 2pac was great there, you happy lol.

  • @BlameItOnTheWhiteMan

What the fuck does her dying have to do with anything? Actually you just saying 2pac just pissed me off even more. I've seen 10 year olds who know who 2pac is. Go listen to your shit.

  • @BlameItOnTheWhiteMan HIP HOP from da 80's and 90's gave birth to da shit ya'll listen to now ;) NEWJACK SWING FO' LIFE!! REAL HIP HOP IS DEAD!!!

  • R.I.P. G

  • R.I.P :(

  • R.I.P.

  • MC died on the year when I was just getting born. :(

  • MC Trouble died of an epileptic seizure in 1991, on her 19th birthday. RIP

  • I'm checking with you now homeboy. Barack Obama bitch! *crotchchop*

  • This track is one of the ones on her 1990 debut album (cd) that I was always feelin', it displayed her already socially conscious side at a young age, she wasn't just about gettin' loot, she was also about making a difference. It pains me to wonder how high her enormous talents would've taken her to, God only knows, R.I.P. forever MC Trouble, music misses you...

  • thats my dad that said u gotta getta a grip on that man im so wowed out wen he told me no lie either

  • she would of been a powerful instrument in rap music regardless of an OD or not. i always went back to this vid, especially the beginning when the whites were like "look at all the politicians, etc." but homegirl shut it down when she said "check with me when we have a black president!" lol we got one now who's trying and we still have these leaders who's trying to bring a segregation revival!! smh too bad she went too soon.

  • If anyone is looking for this track in it's original wave format...get with me I have the promo cd single.

  • 1991 she had a heart failure if im right.

  • @nightjj and then because of heart failure, she had a seizure in her sleep. :'[

  • channel 31 right after school run home just to watch these now classic vids

  • This is the time when it was real hip hop and this was the time when Afrocentric rap was all the rage! I think God that I was there.

  • This is a classic! R.I.P Trouble....she died way too soon.

  • @mddarch

it actually started in the late 80's.

  • There need to be more social commentary in rap today. Especially on the charts. It will never happen though because that would empower us and we`ll rise above the chains on our minds. That would be too positive of an image for blacks to be portrayed. As long as we`re rapping about pimps and hoes they`ll give you the "Sambo" award. My bad, it`s called the "Oscar" award.

  • # boriquacub76 I like all them ol school chicks and by the way girl you are sexy... Seen your page

  • @jaygyno Huh? My page?

  • she was 20 when she died

epileptic seizure which resulted in heart failure.

    i say foul play

  • @SunnyWinters718

NO, it was no foul play. She died in her sleep at home. Her father found her in the morning. She had epilepsy. I have a friend that knew her very well. This was very sad and still yet a huge loss for Hip Hop.

  • r.i.p. 2 u sistah for dropping some knowledge on us. i know what time it is but for kicking it 2 the misinformed. i am glad that things are way better 4 us-lol, and that barack obama is now in presidency-lol. i never thought i see.. well i did but i thought i'd see a brutha or sista in office in like 2040 or something-lol! but jokes aside, i am so proud-lol!-teary eyed tone-not!-lol! but r.i.p. 2 u mc trouble, word is bond that is 1 of my favorite eras! no lie-hafdav3000!-feeezy feez-peace!

  • This was back then when you had a strong female presence in hip hop women with some sense...Trouble,Latifah,Lyte,Yo-Yo,Monie Love,Nikki D.,Salt N'Pepa,Ms.Melodie,Antoinette. They have all been replaced by hoodrats with minimal talent or the half ass non-singing r&b chick...I miss real female MC's RIP Trouble.

  • Boriqua im def feeling you but you forgot about baby Roxanne Shante.. Trouble baby Jay loves you.... Kisses

  • @jaygyno Oh snap how could I leave out Shannie.,Sparky D.,and The Real Rox...That was a whole era in itself!

  • @boriquacub76

WORD UP! You set it off with that list and said correct! Check the tip she was on in this song.

  • @boriquacub76 fuk DICK-y Minaj

dum chick... but dis sista got it goin OANNN

  • thats my aunt at 3:24!!!!!

  • cool!

  • i was makin 17 when trouble passed, i was born in dec, i am makin 36 now and i loved her, she was destined to be very very gr8, i miss mc trouble, this is real mc shit, these chicks they have now got beef, and got issues, love and miss the 80's & 90's, my name is javelle i just miss it.

  • I'm mourning the loss of her and the type of talent that was prevalent at the time. Nicki Minaj has similar talent (MC Trouble could sing and rap), but her subject matter is LACKING!

I should tweet this video to her, maybe it will inspire Nicki to rap about something other than clothes and money. Yeah, I'll do it right now.

  • I use to think MC Trouble was so cute R.I.P. she was on some real politcal stuff back then

  • i wish female rappers got back to these roots-all that they are talkin you can't ride off beauty alone forever- looks fade- trouble and other female rapper was talking about our future0:46 almost 20yrs after doing this song we have a black prez. who knew!

  • I used to run this video to death back in the day. I loved the conscious lyrics, and the female dancers are sick wit it!!!! RIP MC Trouble!!! I know she's looking down on us from heaven and is proud that we've come this far, but the struggle continues...."We gotta move or get moved on!"

  • listen to the 46th second of this video.

    rip mc t

  • guess like she guessed it right too bad shes in heaven now and she cldnt see it RIP MC TROUBLE and im only 14

  • Didn't she have cancer or Sickle cell that cause her untimely death in the late 90's? I may be wrong but I don't remember her dying of any violent acts.

  • She died of an epileptic seizure a few days before her 21st birthday

  • On Tuesday June 4,1991.

  • no nigga she died on her 19th birthday day dey said she had a fukd up dream or sumthn n got surprized n had a seizure n her sleep n died on spot

  • okay, calm down it was a mistake besides I'm nobody's nigga, got that.

  • first of all, I'm nobody's nigga, now get that straight, little boy.

  • how did she die?

  • epileptic seizure

  • :46 "Yeah well check with me when we have a black President" Haha!

I didn't vote for Obama because he's black. I voted for him because he was running as a liberal. Doesn't hurt that he's black. For all those white racists- how does it feel?

  • this was my ish!!!

  • Aint seen this video for nearly 20 years. Saw it a few tymes on MTV Raps in the UK and that was it.

    Still drops hard too!!.

    Conscious lyrics for real!!

  • R.I.P. MC TROUBLE

  • what happened to her?

  • That's the OG Soul Brothers dancing in this video, wow this brings back memories...RIP MC Trouble

  • my brother had a epileptic seizure. your muscles lock up and your body becomes paralyzes and your heart slows . he survived though

  • Anybody have the song she had on the House Party 2 soundtrack? It was called Big 'ol Jazz. Excellent track...

  • hey, we have a black president girl. so im getting back to you 18 years later. since this came out in 1990. lol

  • RIP MC TROUBLE

  • RIP

  • The original West coast Queen!!! Pioneer for west coat female MC's!!! RIP Trouble...

  • Ohh my gosh, I forgot about this (one of my favorite female rappers) and she passed away!! When and how?

  • yo how did she die? i honestly didnt even know she died

  • She died on Tuesday June 4,1991 in her sleep from an epilepic seizure. Very tragic, also tragic that she and Flo-Jo both died the same way.

  • Glad to see more MC Trouble on YouTube; one terrific rapper that deserved more success and a longer life.

  • MC Trouble would have been as famous as MC Lyte if she was still alive.

  • RIP MC TROUBLE. I miss you!

  • wow, this was 18 yr. ago. we are real close to having a black president.

Anyway, i liked her rapping and that she was pretty and DARK skinned.

  • I forgot how dominant James Brown was in the late 80's to early 90's. It seems like every rapper sampled him. Funny how that hardest hits had a james brown beat behind it

  • because they did lol, well the east coast rappers did.

  • aw lawd taking me back!!!! ol school bet!!! RIP girl!

  • R.I.P

  • Very Under-rated & talented

    R.I.P. MC Trouble

  • Malcolm Jamal Warner "Theo" from the Cosby show directed this video....

  • he was good at that and also for those special ed videos...

  • I didn't know that Malcolm Jamal Warner directed this video.

  • MC Trouble had talent. This female chick would be as big as MC Lyte if it wern't for her early def. R.I.P. TROUBLE LOL.

  • she left too soon. Big up to the Soul Brothers dancing in the back

  • Damn, I remember this video like it's yesterday. I was looking for this video for a couple of months. I was 14 when this came out, and sadly, this was her last video.

  • This was the MC Trouble that I remembered. I really miss her. She left us and the Hip Hop industry way too soon. Trouble had proved to us in this last video before her death that she could truly "speak her mind". RIP, LaTasha Rogers 6/4/91.

  • It's Even MORE Crazy Cuz She Was Less Than 2 Months Shy Of Her 21st B-Day When She Died.....Waaaaaay Too Soon

  • Me too. Plus she had recorded her last album before she died, and Motown was supposed to have released it with some of the proceeds going towards a scholarship in her name. It would be nice to hear her unreleased material. Especially since she was the first female rapper signed to Motown Records.
