Works with Firefox 3.6, having "Backend exited with error 1" messages is a natural occurrence, it STILL works, if you can't capture facebook accounts, go to your Firefox browser -> Tools -> Add ons -> Firesheep-> Options -> Websites -> View Facebook -> copy everything in it -> close -> Add -> Enter any name -> left click the new site you made -> edit -> replace everything in it with the copied script -> change "sid" in the copied script into "sct ' w/o the quotation marks -> restart firefox.

Really cannot get it to work. Trying to get it working at school. Im running the newest version of firefox, and installed winpcap. I click Start Capturing but nothing happens. When i click Stop Capturing It says: Backend exited with error 1.. Any suggestions on how I can get it to work?

@hongseongwon - no. The point of such programs and add-ons is to make other aware of the security risks of using public Internet with applications that are not secure. This is something I have known how to do before Firesheep was around, but I have a computer security background. All this does it make it possible for anyone to do, which is often times the only way to get others to listen.

OK, I downloaded everything when i click start capturing it doesnt capture anything, not even me. I go an university, and the wireless internet is not encrypted. So it should work, but its not. Can anyone please help?

FireShepherd, a small console program that floods the nearby wireless network with packets designed to turn off FireSheep, effectively shutting down nearby FireSheep programs every 0.5 sec or so, making you and the people around you secure from most people using FireSheep.

The program kills the current version of FireSheep running nearby, but the user is still in danger of all other session hijacking mechanisms. Do not do anything over a untrusted network that you cannot share with everyone

Could i go onto any one of my friends account with Firesheep, i have it all downloaded and working but i wasn't sure, can i only log onto there account if they are in my house and log on ? If so it's pointless please right back as i want to go on one of my friends Facebook's from my computer, thankyou :)

@mikesir09 The only thing you cannot do is anything that requires a password, so if it asks you for an old password and you don't know it you cannot change it, same with anything requiring you to prove yourself.
