i absolutely adore kai's playing. his tone, his lines, everything... on fretless... haha. have yet to run across anything on a fret bass by him that i actually enjoyed.. maybe because in his tapping his indian influence comes through more, rhythmically, and that puts me off? idk. but i LOVE his fretless playing.

You should check out "Curandero: Aras" featuring Kai on bass. It's killer flamenco with just this kind of thing. I was watching this video and seeing many of the devices Kai uses on that album in his soloing.
