  • I used to do shinsei kenpo but I never got high enough to learn this kata. pretty cool video though Prof. Lewis.

  • Thanks. Haven't checked this account for a while. sorry. And you are? (I'll check your account)

  • I'm Dan Martin I used to take your class a couple years ago with my brothers and sisters but we moved away

  • Hey, Dan! Yes, I remember you guys. Didn't you go out towards Wisconsin? I'll be in Osceola at a church November 5th to give an evening seminar.

  • Self Defense and martial arts go back beyond karate, my friend. Since Cain killed Able there has been the need and the development of Self Defense and the Martial Arts. Babelonian and Egyptian plaques dating 3,000 BC show men training the same stuff. There is no new thing under the sun. The interpretations belong to the founder of each system as they understand and according to their own philosophies.

  • What is this all about? Mixing martial arts with Bible stuff? Karate have it's own history, philosophy, purpose and interpretations. I don't buy yours...

  • Very interesting. How did you come up with this interpretation? I was taught something extremely different as to the meaning and applications of these movements. Respectfully

  • These are my own interpretations because this is my kata. I created it, and am founder of Shinsei Ryu Kenpo, a recognized system. That is not to say that others have not used these particular individual moves contained in this form, of course. And each system may have their own interpretation. Also, bunkai/application is also another matter, and open to various interpretation.
