  • Mrs. Williams was from my hometown and has a park named after her there in Danville, Virginia she was an awesome person from what I hear from my grandparents and others that heard her sing in earlier years. R.I.P. I'm glad that she was able to be highly recognized while she lived!

  • This is my first time every hearing about such a dynamic woman, Opera Singer, teacher etc. I'm truly excited about finding out about 'The Opera Singer Camilla Wiliams!'

  • You are generous and faithful, Rich!

  • Thank you so much for this ... hearing of her death, I remembered meeting her and was curious to finally hear her voice. She was truly a great artist, and although it is much-delayed, I deeply appreciate and honor her work and her accomplishment. Thank you again, dear friend.

  • Camilla Williams, Opera Singer, Dies at 92 RIP

  • Wonderful. What a gorgeous woman. I've become an instant fan.

  • Thank you so very much for posting this - informative and wonderful!

  • Very nice tribute, but the image of King does not come from the 1963 March on Washington. It comes from an earlier rally at the mall called the Prayer Pilgrimage for Freedom in 1957. Notice that King is wearing the pastoral robe; at the march he wore his business suit.

  • A Virginia State graduate... V-S-U I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT

  • She was lovely.

  • What an incredible talent and obviously a wonderful person. Thank you so much for schooling the younger generation. Before I really started to dig deep into the opera world, I only knew Marian Anderson through history books. Price, Norman and Battle I know because of their long careers in opera. Actually, Ms. Battle may have taken a few pages from Ms. Williams' book. Thank you for sharing!

  • She still lives in Bloomington and she always looks impeccable. What a wonderful classy lady. Thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you very much for this tribute. Are there any CDs of this wonderful soprano?
