to my understanding of my own reasoning.. global warming is the acceleration of the next ice age... we cannot stop that process, all we can do is get the technology out there to survive the next ice age.

Climate change is not a threat to our species, as humans our ability to adapt is one of our greatest assets. The real threat is the threat to our way of life. This is what will change. Most of the human population live on or near the coasts. Mankind relies on ships to transport goods from place to place. Once the sea level rises many of the ports will be under water. The infrastructure that supports global trade will not be able to function. A great deal of money will be lost.
THe ice whic hwill melt is below sea level. And as ice melts into water, it contracts! So sea levels will go down. Whic his why since GW was thought of, there was a record low tide in Scottland in 2003: We are safe. GW was just a JOKE TO GET RESEARCH GHRANTS.
Climate change has happened before and it will happen again. The Earth has been around for Billions of years, life has endured in some form for hundreds of millions of years. Modern man arrived and has thrived during a time when the climate has been stable and for the most part quite comfortable for our species. If (as the "Experts" seem to think) the polar ice caps melt, due to climate change, the sea level will rise some 20 to 25 feet. A great deal of land will be lost to the sea.
There will always be a tomorrow, but will we still be here to see it? Now this is the question we should be asking ourselves, if we do not change our ways NOW towards the chimate!
