esta voz es como las cataratas del iguazu......un torrente inutil de poder abarcar.............inmenso...ooooooooooooo.....oo...inmensooo............la onda del poder romantico dramatico....al mas sobrenatural estado supino de la voz........
Yes, he was the greatest singer, who ever lived. I say it without trying to be unfair to Caruso, but for me Luciano has the edge. Not by far, mind you.
this is one of his better performances, in which, despite the absence of any physical movement, his vocal interpretation clearly indicates an understanding of and respect for the music. having said that, i propose that it is a shame that we afford him all the credit for bringing this beautiful italian popular song and others like it to the attention of the "general public". caruso tried. so did gigli and many others, including mario lanza. just a thought.
@jgraif I agree. And now we have a soprano who does much justice to this song: Gina Colao Decker. Let's recognize beautiful voices while the are still with us!
@dee1153 yes! it's like lanza performing at the hollywood bowl in 1948 to RAVE reviews. if concerts in central park had been in fashion in the 1950's, lanza would have easily drawn as many spectators.
